There are several paths and trails you can take-some on foot, some by bike. I even saw clues that horses had been there! At the trailhead, there is plenty of marked parking along with bathrooms. It's easy to find via GPS and you can do shorter or longer trails-whatever floats your boat. Just keep track of where you are because without a map or sense of direction, you could easily get turned around!

Some rocks to make you slow down, some grades a bit too steep to run down, and a beautiful view the entire time. It was a solid 4 mile loop by the time I got back. Parking is free and the trail is well maintained. There's a bathroom at the parking area. It's a 1 mile to the T up to the suspension bridge. If you keep going, you'll get to a Little Rock tunnel, then another bridge, and another bridge, and the run back if you're going counter clockwise like I did, is fairly easy there after. There's not a lot of shade so if it's a hot day, definitely bring a hat.

Most folks who take this approach park at the Smiths or O'Riley's to begin their workout. Runners, walkers, and cyclists it really is a great place to decompress without having to go to far off the beaten path. Note: There is a bike path and walking trail most street runners/walkers talke along with cyclists. There is also an actual hiking trail, however, I'm not as familiar with that route. I just threw on my spikes, and climbed all the way up to the tower. Easy Trail as far as distance goes, and you can't beat the 360 degree views when you get up on top. You will able to see all the way to Provo, and all the way to Bountiful with the 360 degree view. Just absolutely gorgeous. I only saw five people on the trail today, and that was mostly when I was coming down. Good short hike for families, and part of the trail is off-leash for dogs. ** Garbage can available to put your dog poop in, but people seem to just leave it on the trail. ***No bathrooms available. #leavenotrace

It's a short trail but it is perfect if you just want a quick hike. This year there are a lot of snake sightings, and a sign is actually posted at the front of the trail , but we didn't see any. With only a 308 elevation gain super easy for little kids. Shared with bikes along the way with separate downhill trails just for bikes. Which makes it nice.

We…read moredo live in a beautiful state and it's appropriate for us to step outside, take a look around and appreciate when nature shows off. I joined a group of hikers and hit the trails this past week, in search of some great fall colors. Bell Canyon did not disappoint. There is plenty of parking at the trailhead, including clean bathrooms. The first part of the trail is pretty rocky and has a decent elevation gain-poles are helpful, but at the least, have good shoes with some traction. Once you get to the reservoir, it's pretty flat and there are lots of places you can get amazing pictures. Be sure to take some time down by the water-it's so calming and just beautiful. There were some detour signs on the trail, so we didn't get the full experience (not sure why it was closed, but we tried to follow signs until they suddenly stopped. So we turned around and came the way we went.) Overall, it's a beautiful hike and I'd love to come try it again when the trail is open.

We started at the entrance on Wasatch Blvd near the residential area; and then, ended up at the…read morewaterfall. It took us about 4 hours to hike approx. 6 miles with short breaks in between for water. It's a mixer of flat, incline, rocky, slippery (snow still out towards end of hike), upward steps, and mini bridges to cross over small water streams. There are surrounding plants and trees, but most are barely blooming. Didn't see any wildlife animals, but saw a few squirrels crossing our paths lol. The hike itself wasn't too hard. I'd rate it intermediate. It was only challenging because the paths towards the end were slippery due to snow still out and melting. It was fun with some close calls. Luckily I found a stick on the way to use. We passed by the lake at the beginning of the hike, which was nice. Once we reached the waterfall, we took a refreshing break; snacked a bit; embraced the beautiful nature; and then, headed back where we started. It was harder to hike down the slippery snow than it was to hike to the waterfall. I'd come back to hike this place during fall to see the vibrant color of the trees.

The hike is relatively short, making it a great choice for families, beginners, or anyone looking for a quick outdoor adventure with a rewarding destination. The trail is well traveled and easy to follow, although there are a few rocky sections that require careful footing. Once you reach the waterfall, you're greeted by a peaceful setting with flowing water, towering canyon walls, and plenty of places to stop and enjoy the scenery. Since the waterfall is fed by a natural spring, it's especially nice knowing you can enjoy it throughout the year. One thing we really appreciated was how accessible this hike is. You can escape into nature without needing to drive deep into the mountains, making it a perfect option for a morning hike, an evening walk, or a spontaneous outdoor adventure. We also appreciated how well visitors respected the trail and surrounding area. It's important to stay on the designated path and be mindful of the nearby neighborhood so this hidden gem can remain enjoyable for everyone. If you're visiting Sandy or the Salt Lake Valley, Rocky Mouth Falls is definitely worth adding to your list. It's a beautiful hike with an even better reward, and we'd happily visit again! Once you park, you'll walk thru the neighborhood to reach the trail entrance. I actually enjoyed the walk and checking out the beautiful homes along the way. There are no public restrooms btw. The trail starts with 60+ stair steps, then it levels out into mostly flat gravel. Closer to the waterfall, there are some small rocks, and light water streams run over them, so just watch your step to avoid slipping. I climbed up the big rocks to get a closer look at the upper waterfall stream. Overall, it was an easy hike, but I spent a good few hours there soaking in the quiet nature during the week. There were only a handful of other hikers. On the way back, I did a short detour onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail for about 30 mins in before I turned around since I wasn't familiar with that route.

It is a well maintained trail using soft, tan colored dirt, so traction will not be an issue. The first half of the trail does not offer much coverage, so prepare appropriate sunblock as needed. Later you will hike a well-shaded area that is just great for water breaks and resting away from the heat. Trail is partially dog friendly and gets narrow as you head south. You will run into the watershed and want to hike on to enjoy the beautiful jagged cliffs and small canyon. However it is private property so you want be able access it.
