What a great dining experience! This was my first time here. I was heading into heavy rush-hour traffic, so I decided to avoid it and stop to have a good meal before heading home. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. First off, this place is gorgeous. There's plenty of space, a great ambiance, and the live music really adds to the experience. That said, the noise level was a bit too high for my taste. Our waitress was fantastic--very attentive and friendly, which made a big difference. The food was tasty and, in my opinion, worth the higher price point. Lovely, bright dining space. My in-laws took me here for my birthday. They have a brunch menu on Sundays. There were simply way too many items on their menu that sounded fantastic. We started off with the tuna and salmon poke. This is quite different from the usual pokes I've eaten in the past. It's a nicely plated stack of tuna and salmon on top of a seaweed salad and topped with bits of crunchy strips fried wontons. I enjoyed the grilled ahi tuna, perfectly grilled rare. The ponzu roasted brussel sprouts were amazing and the picked mushrooms added a zesty brightness to the dish. For dessert, we had the apple pie bread pudding, topped with a cinnamon roll ice cream. The bread pudding was a tall serving of deliciously soft and rich custardy goodness. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were left feeling very satiated. read more

This place is such a hidden Gem in Katy!! We always drive by but finally had a chance to come and celebrate 2 birthdays. They had live music on the weekend which was such a great touch, the outdoor area is so beautiful and indoors has plenty of space. It truly feels like you are in Fredericksburg or somewhere else. The food is okay, it can definitely be much better imo. You can tell some of it may not be made fresh. They also grat'ed our bill when there was only 4 adults and 1 3 year old child. I was having my car serviced in the area so I decided to stop in. I got there a little before 4 PM and they didn't open until four so I had to come back at four. I sat at the bar and checked out their happy hour I got a vodka drink and I didn't eat since I've eaten earlier. It's a really nice upscale place and they have a really nice size patio with TVs. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet expectations, especially given the high price point. Overall, it felt overpriced for the quality of food and experience delivered. Some of the simpler items were enjoyable--such as the pizza and French fries--but those were basic dishes and still felt expensive for what they were. The higher-end items were disappointing. The crab cakes, steak, and seafood tower did not live up to expectations. The steak was ordered medium-rare but arrived tough and lacked the tenderness expected from a prime cut; the texture felt closer to select-grade beef. Several seafood items were also overcooked and came out tough. The sides were underwhelming as well. The green beans were overcooked rather than properly blanched and sautéed with garlic. When asking the server for side recommendations, we were told about a cauliflower "side," only to later find out it was actually a full entrée. This felt misleading, and overall it seemed like the service was focused more on charging our party throughout the night rather than providing thoughtful recommendations. Given the experience, I do not plan to return. If I'm spending this level of money, I expect higher-quality food and better service. For celebrations or special occasions, I would much rather choose a more consistent franchise such as Mastro's or Del Frisco's read more

It's been over a year since I lasted dined at P&V and was please with the service. However, the food was just okay for the value in priced. When they first opened back in 2021 I felt the service and food was equally very good. I did try the short-rib pizza that was tasty but it lacked enough protein for the price; need more flavor to make it stand out. Our friends the snapper and steak but were prepared well...but not amazing delicious as it looked on the plate. I know the price to dine out is expensive so I take serious where I spend my money so doubt I'll patron them again. Final thoughts, good not great but nicely decorated restaurant for a group dinner in the area. Happy Hour I'm sure is the better value in my opinion. But give it a try for yourselves. read more

If I have not written about this place, that would be a incredible mistake on my part. My guess is and I really did not look that it's going to be very close to Fivestars and it very much deserves such a rating. I normally sit at the bar. The bartenders are phenomenal and I will use the Plural because there is not a bartender that I have encountered at this particular restaurant that is not incredibly talented. I've had a memory of different drinks over the four or five times that I've gone. If you let the bartenders make recommendations they can really help you out. I've had martinis all have been excellent. I've had old fashions. All have been excellent in point of fact, I'm not going to go drink by drink because there is not one that I have ordered yet and I've probably ordered seven or eight different drinks on different occasions and all of them have been superlative. The food is quite good. I've stuck mostly to appetizers because I am sitting at the bar and I just haven't ordered the larger entrées. I have however had a hamburger there my goodness it was just wonderful cooked to perfection as I requested. French fries are great appetizers are wonderful. Have many of them wooden suggest any one of them over another. I think they're all very good. The ambience is incredible. Very nicely appointed the patrons are really part of the Barr scene at this particular restaurant and they are very pleasant. If you're out in the Katy area I would make it a point to drop by even for something as simple as a hamburger. read more

I felt like they had been sitting just a little bit but they were still good. Calamari - cooked just right Octopus - really good. Smoky bbq chargrilled flavor. People at the table who don't like octopus or never tried it liked it! Beet salad- very fresh & crisp. The beets came with blueberries, pecans & goat cheese. It all worked together. Again, folks in my party who don't like beets tried lt & surprisingly liked it. Scallops - cooked perfectly. The orange jalapeño jam adds a sweet, spiciness to each scallop that's quite unique. We had a party of 9 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Not 1 complaint! Also service was good. The server was very attentive to our large party. I cannot believe this place has been in my Katy neighborhood & it didn't make my radar. Pearl and Vine offers a great dining experience for couples or large parties. The size and decorations of the restaurant grabs your attention as soon as you walk through the door. The host was very friendly and helpful finding bar space for a group of eight. We arrived 30 minutes before the reservation for drinks before dinner and it wasn't a problem. The food is great the Calamari was perfectly flashed fried with incredible flavor. The sauce didn't add much and wasn't necessary. I highly recommend the Octopus which will likely be the best starter on the menu. The ribeye steak was one of the best non wagyu steaks I've had. I absolutely loved the steak seasoning and the temperature was just as I requested. Now that I've been introduced to this place, I will be a regular. No misses! Great experience. read more

My boyfriend decided to take me out on a date here after not being here a couple years. We decided to go all out on dinner with appetizers and we split an entrée. The food was good, but unfortunately, the next day my boyfriend suffered from food poisoning. I noticed there seems to be a trend of negative reviews correlated with food poisoning at this restaurant. My boyfriend hasn't been the only person that has gotten food poisoning here. Eat at your own risk, I don't know what happened. Maybe it was a bad shrimp or a bad oyster he ate, but it was a bit disappointing. He spent so much money to take me out and he suffered with food poisoning the next day..... Update: He called the establishment to let them know about his food poisoning and management tells him he could have gotten it from touching a wall. "Walls grow bacteria and that's how you could have gotten sick" Ridiculous that they won't take accountability when he hasn't been the only one to get food poisoning at this establishment. This is our third time visiting and I actually think the food has gotten even better. We had the chargrilled oysters (excellent), I had the fillet with lump crab and I was surprised and impressed to hear the have a salamander and a wood fired option for a Pittsburg rare steak which is my go to temperature. I chose wood fired and I was not disappointed. It's the best steak I've had in the last 5 years. Service was in point and they were all so kind to our young boys eating dinner with us. Pearl & Vine has been one of our family favorites for years--we have celebrated so many special occasions here. So much to say from a fellow foodie who often misses the selection closer to the city. This is truly one of the best spots in Katy to experience incredible dining with everything included, fantastic service, even better food, true cocktails + wine selection, and allllll the ambiance. Let's start with the food & drinks: we have tried SO many items on the menu and have never been disappointed. You can never go wrong with their steaks or fresh oysters. Love love the yeast rolls and my kids are obsessed with the pizza! Expect to pay $$ but it's worth it. They have an incredible wine + spirit selection with some of the best bourbons (big fan). The ambiance is amazing!! I don't think there's anything quite like it in Katy except maybe Perry's. They have a huge variety of seating; separate bar area + couch/ lunge tables and high tops, plenty of large tops & booths, a huge outdoor patio overlooking a gorgeous pond and nature area, and indoor patio that can be reserved, and a private room (I believe can seat up to 15). Service is always 5-stars. Not sure if she still works here, but Jade was our favorite server form day 1. The manager is always there on weekends greeting and making rounds (I often see him helping staff and being an integral part of the restaurant.) Highly recommend this local gem! read more

Came here straight from the airport after a long day of travel. We had the blue point oysters, beef carpaccio, Texas gumbo, wedge salad, braised short ribs and creamed spinach. The atmosphere was comfortable and lively. We were seated in a booth by the open kitchen. I personally enjoy watching the kitchen and seeing how well everyone works together and also how clean and organized they are. The dining room was noisy and you could barely hear the music over the conversations, but my husband and I were still able to talk without yelling. I think the clear dividers between each booth might have helped. Our server, Ismael, was excellent! He was polite and friendly, without seeming fake. He created a relaxing and fun experience for us. He paid attention to our table without being intrusive and our food was served and timed perfectly. Everything we had was delicious and the portions were just right for us. The only thing I'd say could use some improvement was the braised short rib. The risotto was slightly undercooked and grainy, but the flavor was delicious. The short rib was tender and moist, but I wished it had more depth of flavor. More beefy flavor. The pricing for the dishes were very reasonable to us and didn't seem overpriced, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience, especially after a long day of traveling. This restaurant is located in Kyle, just west of Houston proper. It is in an area that is under construction, so be careful when you enter. There is ample parking, but reservations are most likely a must since it appears busy. I met a customer for a business meal here. Our server, Isabella L, was very attentive and gave us suggestions for meals and took our drink oder. I had chosen iced tea, and she never gave me a chance to ask for a refill because she was on it! My customer was drinking diet coke, and the same happened with his drink too! I chose the roasted chicken and it was very good. My dinner partner chose the salmon and it was excellent as well. Our service was spectacular and the meals were excellent. The menu includes good steak dishes as well.
