I've been coming to this location since I was a little girl, and now I'm in my late 20s. It was my mom's "secret spot" and our go-to sweet treat for special occasions. Compared to other boba spots in Fresno, this place is truly a hidden gem. You can really taste the care and quality that goes into each drink. Service: Great- always fast and friendly. Ambiance: Cozy, but definitely more of a grab-and-go spot. I do wish they offered seating. Since it's right across the street from Fresno State, having tables would be a huge plus for students looking for cozy places to study. I've been personally refusing to come here because of the terrible service I received. I ordered a peach slushy/smoothie with boba and when they got the order wrong, I asked them to change it and the owner grabbed the drink out of my hand and threw it in the trash! It's sometimes years between visits now--I'm just not in Fresno often--but whenever I stop in, I am never forgotten: Jimmy invariably greets me by name, and we catch up about our families, work, the weather, and, of course, boba tea. Pearl Tea House's boba is invariably fresh. Firm to just the right amount, and not overly gummy or sticky. They have a wide variety of tea flavors, some of them from brewed teas. Today, I noticed the High Mountain Oolong on the menu, which I hadn't seen before. I was told it was a very special and with a subtle flavor, and that I would likely enjoy it. I was not misled. Very subtle flavor, complemented by about 1/4 sweetness and the firm boba. Just perfect! I wish I could get this tea closer to where I live! Great shop, and a wonderful family who runs it. I came here a couple days ago with my boyfriend and I felt the need for a review. I usually order the same things at boba places, here I ordered a Jasmine milk tea with boba and lychee jelly. It was THE best I've ever had. I get that same order everywhere else but none have been as perfect as they make theirs. The tea itself is amazing, the quality is so much better compared to places that use artificial flavors. Even places that do brew their teas, this was still the best. The boba was a perfect consistency and I love that they're sweetened perfectly, same with the lychee jelly. My boyfriend doesn't care for milk tea so he got an iced oolong, and he enjoyed his drink as well. Only downside (very minor), there's no seating if you'd like to drink inside. And every time I have gone here, (about 4 times) they haven't had the tiny boba. This isn't a huge issue for me, I was just bummed because I wanted to try it but I'm determined to visit when they have it! The regular or big sized boba is still amazing, and they aren't stingy with it ;). Also it's a bit more pricey than some tea places, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I am really disappointed at Pearl Tea house. Several years ago I gave them a 2 star review because each time I'd go visit, they would be completely out of BOBA. There's been times where they are not even close to closing and they've been out of boba. This time, I went back and made sure that I arrived as soon as they open to see if that made a difference at all and of course, they didn't have any boba except for the small boba?! I'm soooooooooooooo disappointed... And I'm frustrated. If you're a boba shop, why don't you have Boba prepared??? The tiny boba literally feels like nothing. If I could give this Negative review, I honestly would. There's been sooooooooo many times that they've let me down and this is one of my favorite places of all time. Throughout my 6 years in NYC, I have searched for a boba place as good as Pearl Tea House and I have failed. There is NOTHING as good as their MANGO SLUSH with boba. The boba is so perfectly soft and chewy, the mango slush is thick and sooo flavorful/refreshing. Yes, it is a little pricey ($15.96) for TWO large mango slush with boba (which comes out to $7.98 per each). But I still come back, because I know there is nowhere else that I would be able to get this QUALITY slush/boba. Also, I see in some reviews how "unwelcoming" they are. I found the owners to be very respectful and quiet, which fits the ambiance of the tea shop well. I used to come here A LOT when I was younger, but stopped when the prices started to skyrocket. The drinks here are super yummy, but you can always get the same tasting drinks somewhere else with a cheaper price. Each drink is almost 5$+, in the past they used to be $3-4.50. They have the best drinks and the best boba in town. I've basically been to all the mainstream boba shops in Fresno, no one can compare taste-wise. The texture of their boba is unbeatable. The only thing that makes me go anywhere else is their prices. I pay about $5-6 for a small drink with boba and the other day I paid $7.xx for a large drink with boba. So yeah, it's pricey. I used to complain about service as well, but they've gotten a lot better. As an update, they do take credit cards now! This is the original boba place in town! still same menu location, and owners. They added a few things but there's something about this place as if time stood still. The lay out inside the same too! Well, I don't mind it. It's nostalgic in a way. Their drinks are still good and consistent. Boba is soft and their slushes are still a fan fave. Almost each place like this have the same thing going on. I'll just tell you my faves: honey dew slush - Thai milk tea- taro slush- green tea late. If you're looking for non caffeinated drinks then look for herbal ones. What I like about this place is it is customizable. Hope you guys enjoy this place! I love the tea here. You can actually taste the brewed tea leaves in a subtle and authentic way that is unlike the premade mixes of other milk tea shops. My favorite drink is an iced lavender milk tea with boba (50% sweet really takes the sugar edge off). They also have these awesome macarons that are totally not authentic but I love them so much I have converted. They are softer and chewier than the normal delicate macaron shells and the filling is thicker and basically dense frosting. Sounds weird but try the taro coconut flavor and fall in love. read more

i live nearby, and when i first moved in i wanted to find a boba place that was close to me so i tried pearl tea house. let me say it's now my go-to boba spot and will continue to be even if i move. i'm very picky about my boba/tapioca pearls and the way they feel/taste. pearl tea house's are the literal best i've had. not to mention their slushes are very thick and i absolutely love my blended drinks to thicker. i hate when it's runny and theirs definitely aren't. the atmosphere is also soo cute, it's very homey the music is nice and comforting as well as all the decor. they have seating too so if you need to wait for your drink you can sit and rest. the staff is also very nice, usually it's a lady who takes my order and she's very sweet but i have had a man take my order and he gave pleasant service as well! overall i would absolutely 10000% recommend coming here. i've had so many drinks and none disappoint (their macarons that are also made in house are sooo delicious) read more
