I wouldn't think about going anywhere else. She is a staple in our community. Here is wha she did for me over the last few days. Remember this is Christmas week. I called Beth on Tuesday morning to tell her that there's something in my eye, but it wasn't on my contact lens and it's not coming out. I explained it to her and she told me it was a floater. Never heard of this before by the way. She then asked me if I've seen lightning strikes in my eye, which is not a good sign. Yes I told her. I was in Manorville at the time and she asked me to immediately come back to our office to be examined by the doctor. I couldn't leave. I was babysitting my grandchildren. And then it was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so I set it up to come in on Thursday. She gave me the first appointment in the morning going out of her way to get it done. She was concerned that I might have a tear in my retina. She made several phone calls to find a retina specialist for me and Friday morning. I was sitting in Wright a specialist office who immediately performed laser procedure repairing the tear. The doctor said this could've been a lot worse if I waited. Thank you, Beth thank your staff and thank you Dr. Rua for your expertise and pushing me to go see the specialist.

What a refreshing change of pace from the factory line service you get from some of the big chains. I will certainly use them again for my self and family. I went here through a referral from my ophthalmologist and that they accept my insurance. Dr. Facchin was incredibly thorough and helpful. I have a bad astigmatism in one eye which makes getting the prescription correct a bit difficult. He took the time to insure the lenses gave me the best vision possible without feeling like the ground is moving (common when dealing with an astigmatism). He answered questions and explained why my eyes do certain things in regards to my vision. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly as well. The woman who assisted me with my glasses (I wish I remembered her name) informed me of vision benefits I didn't even know I had. She was very patient showing the frames available to me and never pushed me into something more expensive that I didn't need. She explained the different options and prices when it came to the lenses so I could make an informed decision. I am very happy with my new glasses. They are stylish and I can see better than I have in over a year. Plus I did not spend a ridiculous amount of money on them. I plan to take my family there when they are eligible for an exam/new glasses and would recommend others do the same.

The Dr. didn't give me any problems, rechecking them and ordering a new pair. My ins covered most of it but the secretary failed to inform me ahead of time, that to add on scratch and glare resistance cost me more out of pocket. I didn't know that until AFTER I picked out my glasses. The Dr. though was nice and patient and honored my request to not shine bright lights into my eyes.

In addition, and worst of all, the strength of my glasses was making me dizzy. They said the frames just needed to be adjusted. I went back 2x with concerns about how unsteady I felt in my glasses. Nothing but physical adjustments of the frames. A year later I went somewhere else to get glasses, as I couldn't function with my current prescription , and the dr. tells me that my glasses are 3x stronger then they should be! Honestly an awful experience for me with people who could care less about their patient's well-being and only about $$!

Once I selected the pair we both agreed looked great, checkout was fast--and I even received a discount on my frames. I was out the door by 2:01 PM, if not earlier. Truly quick and efficient service. Beware of the South Shore Eye Care scam. Staff was very…read morenice, my Dr. (Lask) was excellent. When I checked in (Wantagh Ave. Wantagh) they gave me a few pages to fill out. The last page states if you need a prescription there is an additional $35.00 fee for each one written (if you need glasses or contacts). If you need two different scripts, you will pay $70.00 out of your pocket, insurance does not cover this. I asked the person who gave me the exam and he confirmed if I need a prescription written, I will pay for $35.00 for each one! I did a lot of research and believe this is illegal. Why would I go back if I'm going to get scammed? You shouldn't go here either. Under federal law (the FTC's Eyeglass Rule and Contact Lens Rule), you are entitled to a copy of your prescription immediately after an exam is completed, and you cannot be forced to pay a "release fee," "copy fee," or purchase glasses/contacts to receive it.
