But, only if you haven't been there. When you walk through the door of the iconic Ardmore storefront, you are made to feel instantly welcome, thanks to the attentive, skilled staff. It's also a great sign when the Boss is there to greet you, warmly, as well. Rich, the owner/operator, who has been dedicated to serving people in this community since the 1980's, is an absolute treasure. He is honest, ethical, has a kaleidoscopic understanding of the optical industry and a deep concern for the customer's needs. There are psychiatrists and bartenders who could learn a lot about successfully interacting with their clientele from Rich. His pricing is more than fair, Especially, given the quality of the products and the value of the service that he and his team provide. I cannot tell you how many times that I have had a mishap ( meaning my fault ) with the stylish, durable glasses that I have purchased from Rich and when I have returned to the store for repairs, he has never once charged me. I believe that any successful retail enterprise is based on relationships between merchant and customer, in addition to the products and services provided. I will take Rich's word and his handshake over 50 warranties from most any other optical company with which I had done business before I came to Main Line Optical for the first time, about 25 years ago. Recently I picked up my new glasses. From the moment I put them on I suspected there was a problem…read more They gave me severe double vision. The girl told me to wait and put them on the next day since I had been wearing my other glasses. I ignored that advice and put them on when I got home. After 4 hours of torture, I took them off. The next morning I tried again. I wore them for several hours, but had to change to my old prescription when I drove as the double vision made it unsafe. I called and was told to wear them for at least a week. I tried to explain how bad it was and that it was dangerous, but the sweet girl just kept saying, "I understand," and not inviting me to come in. After a couple more hours of hell, I looked closely at the lenses of my old vs new glasses and there was a definite difference. I called back, got another girl who this time gave me an appointment. When I arrived I got the same girl who helped me the previous day. She is the reason I am writing this review. Unfortunately, she never said her name. When I explained that I was having a serious problem seeing out of the glasses, her attitude became rude and dismissive. She said, "Weren't you just here yesterday?" in and angry tone. I explained how bad it was and tried to show her the difference in the lenses. I said, " There should be a prism in the lenses." She snapped at me, There IS a prism in them!" I held my ground while she searched her computer for what I do not know. She seemed intent on proving me wrong. I asked if there was a machine she could use to check the prescription and see if the prism was correct. She finally went back to look. Fortunately Glenn appeared at that point (if you go there, insist on having him help you with your glasses) after a while, she came back and told me Glenn said they were sending the glasses back to the lab. I asked if they had the prism in them and she replied (I kid you not!), "I don't know. I don't know how to check." The story has a happy ending. The glasses came back with obviously different lenses and I could instantly see out of them. I wore them driving home. But the way I was dismissed and disrespected has shaken my faith in this practice. I have had more glasses than years that girl has been alive. Eye glasses serve one purpose - to help you SEE. Brushing off a patient and telling them to wear glasses for "at least a week," is dangerous!

Dr. Yannelli is extremely professional, smart and friendly. Her staff are also very pleasant and the office itself is cute with a good selection of eyeglass frames. They are very honest. No one tried to pressure me into pricey frames and they gladly offered to give me my written prescription in case I wanted to shop elsewhere for frames or contact lenses (I bought both through them but just the fact they willingly offered the prescription showed their honesty). My two kids and I had routine eye exams and we ordered new frames and lenses and two of us ordered contact lenses. Everything went great and we got exactly what we wanted. During another visit, Dr. Yannelli took care of my eye infection and everything turned out great.
