The day of the surgery, my dad wasn't sure that he wanted it, even though he needed it. The dr wouldn't proceed until he was sure that it was what my dad wanted. He wasn't pressuring him at all. The shoulder has been great and I now plan on taking my dad into see him to make sure that the other orthopedic surgeon didn't mess up on a repair that he did years ago.

The sheet they gave me had very little info about what was to be expected after having carpal tunnel, and cubital tunnel surgery. Only what do to after a certain amount of time. The sheet has nothing about what's normal and what's not normal in terms of feeling and or pain issues related to the surgery. I had both surgeries on the same hand at once. This is my dominant hand. I literally felt like I was living in North Korea as he kept bringing up the fact that I kept calling every so often concerned about my surgery. This along with how they treated me, just shows what type of people they are. The fact that I feel like I can't even ask for help and or advice and get info is not normal. It's completely unacceptable as a patient. Surgery is a big decision and affects the rest of my life.

He gave me the thrush medication but didn't do anything. He strongly urged me to see Dr. Neilson, an oral surgeon, but I hesitated because he didn't take my insurance. I finally went and he was great, too. Mindful of my financial situation, he took his fee off. He encouraged me to get a biopsy, but then more money. He ripped out the phrase, "If you were my mother, I'd insist you get a biopsy." So I did. Turns out, it was pre cancerous!! He recommended me to Dr. Cordin in St. George, who did take my insurance, and I had oral surgery last week. I'm recovering well. Turns out, the final diagnosis was high-grade dysplasia. The hygienist, Paula, said it was time for x-rays. I told her that I did not want x-rays because I have had no issues and I have other concerns as well (none of their business). She was a little huffy about that and said she would inform Dr. Banks. She came back and said he was mad I wouldn't do the x-rays. The cleaning went on as regularly scheduled and when complete she went to Dr. Banks and informed him it was time for my oral exam. Dr. Banks refused to do the oral exam and told her it was because I wouldn't take x-rays. Prior dentists have informed me that if I haven't been having issues it wasn't necessary based on my dental history. Dr Banks has always been nice but now has demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism. I asked the dental office to have him call me....crickets. I am the customer putting money in their overpaid pockets. This isn't the first issue I have had with this office but the others were billing issues which they took care of them because of misinformation. These people are overpaid which shows by their extravagant office.

I had called the office twice prior to the appointment to confirm that my report had been received, and both times I was told it was on file. However, upon arrival, I was told they did not have the report. Fortunately, I had brought my own copy to provide. While I was attempting to clarify this issue at the front desk, one of the staff members abruptly and loudly stated, "my medical information and history" in front of everyone in the waiting room. This was extremely inappropriate and a clear breach of my privacy, as my personal medical information was shared publicly without my consent. When I calmly expressed that this was unprofessional and not appreciated, the staff members mocked me, closed the privacy screen, and proceeded to make unkind and unprofessional remarks about both me and my husband -- comments that we could still clearly hear through the window. After this, I requested the office manager's contact information, including their name, phone number, and email address, so I could report the incident and resolve the matter properly. The staff refused to provide that information, which I believe is another violation of my rights as a patient and a failure to allow me to report a serious concern. In addition to the privacy breach and unprofessional conduct, the appointment itself was incorrectly scheduled, and I was nearly charged for services that I did not request and should not have been billed for. The entire experience was distressing, unprofessional, and unacceptable for a healthcare environment that is supposed to prioritize confidentiality, respect, and patient care. I then called them about a week later to see if I could get the office managers email and phone number and was refused again. This was insane.
