This quaint coffee shop/bakery is nice and cozy. I needed a dessert for a gathering and they were very nice and accommodating. The coffee was great and their donuts fresh. Unfortunately the cupcakes were very dry. No one ate them . I definitely recommend them with the on your way to work or let's stop by and have coffee spot.

Pearson's Bakery had near mythical status in my mind. As a kid, it was THE bakery where my Mom would get rye bread, coffee cakes hot cross buns. I came with her a few times but I wasn't small enough to still get the free cookie samples so usually I just would wait until she would bring home her selections. I dreaded Lent because I just didn't get the whole Hot Cross bun attraction. I wanted more goo and sugar! Enter Yelp with its access to nearly any place that makes food anywhere! I did a search and sure enough, my Mom's fave bakery was still in business for over 50 years. A short road trip was immediately planned. My husband went crazy ordering paczkis, lemon meringue pie slices and hot cross buns. I threw in some buttercrust rolls and we paid under $7.00 for a huge quantity of baked delights. I felt like we were stealing the treats! Last establishment I visited, I bought cupcakes, $16.00 for four. We had 8 items for less than half. Deal of the day! All weekend we have been tasting, sharing and savoring the mouth watering samples. My favorites have been the pie slices and the cherry paczki. I ate a Hot Cross bun with some trepidation and discovered my Mom was right, those suckers were delish with a minimum of frosting and sugar, just right. I like the "flavor of the day" type bakeries with hip decor and cute product. But I also adore rediscovering an old school stand out. It is an older building in an older neighborhood but the quality is as fresh as today. See, your Mother is always right.

My cousin knows the owner so our family was fortunate to host a baby shower here on a Sunday, when…read morethey are closed. They made the cookies, macaroons, both cakes that were served and mini pumpkin pies that were given as gifts for the guests. They also opened to enable us to buy goodies and I fell in love with the brown butter bourbon cookies!! They were 3 for $5 and I would have bought the 3 bags that were in the case, but a woman in front of me bought 2 bags so I was left with one. They have mini pies for $5 and while it was hard to decide (assorted cheesecakes, key lime pie, sweet potato pie, etc.); I bought a mini peach cobbler for hubby. They are the perfect serving size and he loved it! Both of the cakes they had at the shower (a chocolate and a yellow rainbow) were moist and delicious; the only downside is that we live so far away! But if we're ever in this area we will remember Park's Pastries for sure.

I wanted to like it. I really did. Local, minority owned, female owned. But sadly it's not good…read more I've tried several items on 3 different visits hoping for better but it wasn't...tasteless macarons and not the right texture, cupcakes priced like a downtown bakery but unfilled and small and dry and grainy, vegan pastries that left a poor taste in the mouth and also grainy. I believe they're moving to a new spot which will help the ambiance hopefully as the old spot was just too big. The owner is polite but the other staff was hit or miss. I really do hope they get it worked out. It's a great idea, but execution hasn't been good.
