    The Pho-renchy Dip Sandwich
    Michelle C.

I typically shy away from fusion cuisine because my experiences have usually been a miss. That's why I was especially intrigued with Peasant Food Manifesto's menu of "global fusion" dishes. The food truck is hard to miss with its bold color and graphics. You can find the truck in downtown Seattle on Tuesdays across from the City Target on 2nd and Pike. My coworker and I wanted to beat the lunch rush and came by a little after it opened at 11AM. The "Pho-Renchy" Dip Sandwich caught my attention instantly. Deconstructed pho in a sandwich form?! Sign me up!!! At $10, the sandwich is hearty and filling and in the typical downtown lunch price range. The sandwich itself is a healthy serving of sprouts, roast beef, cilantro and hoisin sauce in a French baguette. It kind of reminds me of a sproutier version of a banh mi sandwich. The French Dip influence comes into play with the pho aus jus, which does taste a little differently than typical pho broth (but still good!) The lady at the food truck said that the shakshuka was its most popular dish - I'll definitely be coming by again to try it! :)

Food Truck visit my employment frequently. Decided to give in and give it a try. Placeed on line order for 3 items around 1115 and order was ready by 1125. Whike the food was good. When i tried the "chicken sandwich" i knew it wasn't chicken, consumed it anyhow. 1. I hate to return food 2. The wait can sometime be 20 minutes plus and that defeats the purpose of the advance order in my book. Moving the kimchi to the side, the taste wasn't bad earns 1 star and service 1 star. Accuracy meh.

    Daily special: Hawaiian tacos
    KayLi W.

The food truck made its way to my work today so I ordered the Hawaiian tacos (pulled pork with pineapple slaw). The pork was nice and Smokey, but there didn't seem to be much flavor to the pineapple slaw. Maybe it's just because it isn't pineapple season, but it all just tasted like cilantro. I'd give it another try if they came around, the pork tacos sounded pretty good too.

Absolutely amazing food. Definitely enjoyed the Korean cheese steak. I'd definitely do it again

    Inigo Montoya Shakshuka

Recently, I caught up with Peasant Food Manifesto at Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market. SeattleFoodTruck.com was holding the Back-to-School Truck-In featuring 9 food trucks. I heard about this truck but didn't have a chance to try them out until last week. I like the color of the truck - that light blue catches my eye. The two staff members on board (one was Beth and I'm not sure of the other person's name) were very nice. The food came out fairly quickly and I was on my way. I had the Inigo Montoya Shakshuka which is described as an Israeli Tunisian dish featuring an over easy egg in a spicy tomato sauce with greens, Uli's Spanish Chorizo, feta, and served with flatbread. For $9, I thought the dish looked a bit small. I was surprised at how hearty it was and found myself getting full and actually unable to finish it. The greens were cooked just right - not soggy or too raw. At first, I thought the tomato sauce wasn't very spicy. It has a bit of an after kick but isn't overly spicy. I've never had shakshuka so I wasn't sure what to expect. The flavors worked well together. I liked the tomatoes but some of them were a bit oversized for a bite. I could have used a bit more chorizo as well since it was so yummy! Finally, the egg was a bit small. They do offer an extra egg for $2. That egg was cooked perfectly! It had beautiful texture and color and that yolk was runny just the way I like it. If meat isn't your jam, they offer a vegetarian option for $8. The next dish I want to try is the Blue Box Got Seoul. Think Tillamook Cheddar Mac & Cheese + Kimchi. Sounds good to me! For a new truck, I think the menu is innovative and execution is food. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

    Kamikaze Ramen burger!
    Lindsey S.

This food truck was parked outside a brewery last night and I decided to give it a try. Their special was called something like Kamikaze Burger, it was a beef patty, fried egg, greens, kimchi, and instead of a bread bun it was between two friend up ramen 'buns'! It was very unique, and quite tasty! My only complaint would be how messy it was and how the ramen buns instantly fell apart, but they must have known that because they gave a fork and knife and oodles of napkins. Burger was $10 I believe, but it was pretty gigantic. The rest of their menu sounded interesting too, very unique fusion items I've not seen anywhere before.

    Pho tacos
    Claudine M.

I was fascinated by the menu of creative, diverse food items but wasn't extremely impressed with what I tried. Pho tacos: beef, corn tortilla, sprouts, red onion, pho sauce, cilantro. Three tacos for $9. Nothing too exciting, bland with the sweetness of the pho sauce at the top. It just didn't come together for me. I was excited about discovering Cock 'n Bull here, though. And the food truck attendant was a jolly woman. I'd like to come back for other items someday.

These are the best cheese curds ever bc the batter isn't heavy like other cheese curds I've had. It's tempura battered so it's light and you can taste the cheese more. The jalapeño strawberry dip and ranch are good dips, but try them together and it will blow your mind. The fried green beans were okay. They did have a heavier batter on them and I wish they had the same batter the cheese curds had. The spicy dip was good! The rosemary popcorn was delicious! It had just enough butter and the perfect amount of rosemary where it's not overpowering. Once you get to the bottom, there's tons of butter and you just dip and soak it up with the popcorn. Also, PATTI was AMAZING!!!! She checked in on us throughout the evening. She's very sweet and I will be back bc of Patti!

Solid beer selection with rotating drafts, and if you're a soda guy, they use all Seattle Soda Company flavors (supporting local business). Had the brisket dinner tonight and that was a very pleasant surprise. Fall apart tender, amazing rich flavor, decadent sauce, with creamy mash. The seasonal veg was brussells sprouts which could have been roasted a bit more to crispy for me but that's a personal preference. This is way more satisfying than the food you'd get at your typical local bar. I've been to The Bridge a half dozen times and every time has delivered. Solid food. Good service. Great outdoor patio. Neighborhood vibes - the type of place where the bartenders know and recognize the locals, and the locals are regulars. I like that. It's a welcoming place, casual, laid back, and though I haven't been there during too many sports games, even when it's on, it doesn't seem to get too rowdy. Brunch is a must do, with options like the Benny flight. Definitely one of the less known brunch spots in my opinion, but even so, can still get busy so go early. Only reason I've done 4 stars is I've had a few times where service was a little slow. Would absolutely return again and again and have recommended to many friends. Keep up the great work team, may you be successful for many years to come.

He pointed to a water dispenser with lukewarm water and plastic cups. He gave us a few minutes then returned to take our order. The menu was small but it did have some healthy options. Not just typical bar food. It seemed like the perfect happy hour place! I had some questions about spiciness of one of the entrees. But he didn't seem to know much about feedback about it. I ordered it anyway. It was a little more spicy than I'm used to but it was delicious. He stopped by to check on us more than halfway through the meal. I asked him for some ice and he promptly brought two cups. The patio was lovely! Not much of a view as they had a big fence blocking it, but it still felt very open and breezy. Very intimate and nicely decorated. I would have given five stars had the waiter been a little more welcoming and there were a few more dishes offered. The menu was paper and a bit worn. It made me wonder how many had touched it. Perhaps a QR code would work for them if they don't wish to laminate their menu. Or just put specials on a blackboard. Not just drinks.

During this visit, I was sitting at the bar with a group of friends and ordered a drink, and then the second. From the very get-go, the General Manager (who is new) was questioning us about the two empty seats next to us, and we politely let her know they were being saved for friends who were arriving soon. The service from our bartender was great, and there were absolutely no issues. However, after I stepped outside for a brief moment to smoke and returned, this same General Manager completely OUT OF THE BLUE told me I was no longer welcome at the bar- EVER AGAIN. She didn't explain why she was issuing a permanent ban, and when I asked for a reason, she refused to provide one. I truly have no idea why she did it. I couldn't even push further for an explanation because I could instantly feel that she would call the cops on me for no reason, as she affirmed. I was entirely respectful, quiet, and well-behaved during my visit, which the bar staff even confirmed afterward. It is incredibly unprofessional for a General Manager to arbitrarily target and permanently ban a paying, respectful customer out of NOWHERE without cause or explanation. I hope ownership looks into how this GM treats customers, as this behavior is completely unacceptable. I feel COMPLETELY disrespected by how this was handled. Both myself and ALL of my friends who were there felt the exact same way - her behavior was so completely baffling and uncalled for that if I could give 0 stars for her actions alone, I would. As a loyal and valuable customer who has always supported this business, being targeted and thrown out out of nowhere without cause is entirely unacceptable. I EXPECT a call from ownership or upper management to explain this situation and address the General Manager's unprofessional behavior. I WILL NOT LET THIS GO, believe me. Thank you.
