They don't recognize me when I come in. My business isn't valued as far as I can tell. The salespeople here are young and inexperienced. And they descend on you the minute you enter. Ugh. Just picked up my Specialized Sirrus a few days ago. The bike had to be built, so the person on the phone mentioned it could take a few days to be ready due to the COVID situation. I picked up the bike a few days later, the bike was perfectly set up and was ready to ride that day. They are offering contactless pickup on orders as well, so it's safe. It's a pretty standard bike shop, I'm not sure why people are complaining so much about it. Yes, you can probably get the basics for less online (ie Steepandcheap.com) but if you need to be fit (which most people underestimate) then this is the store to go to. They can do 80% of the fit ATA does for 20% of the price (if not free). Pedal Power strikes a good balance between service and price that ATA Cycles and Belmont Wheel Works simply can't touch. They're also a very honest shop which I respect and value. For what it's worth, Mike C at Pedal Power is by far one of the best mechanics I've had work on my bike. ...It doesn't hurt that they've got a pizza place and bar next door. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I stopped in Saturday. There were about four people working that I could see. I was not acknowledged at all as I entered. I thought ok, everyone seems to be doing something, no big deal. I was the only other person who wasn't being helped. That's fine. I proceeded to browse around. There is not a tremendous selection but it's comparable to a similar sized shop. 15-20 minutes later.......Another person walks in and within 5 minutes they are asking him if they can help him..... if I'm a customer, I expect to be acknowledged and treated fairly. First off the only reason I am giving 1 star is because they are one of the few bike stores opened on Sunday. After this last visit not sure it even deserves a star for that. My friend brought a bike he was very excited to purchase to have tuned and was in a nutshell told the technology was completely out of date and he should invest in a brand new bike rather than attempting to fix it. WOW - seriously? What ever happened to customer service and making everyone's bike be special - it may not be perfect but if it's perfect for that person why would you rip it apart? I was shocked and then I was told he was one of the owners for the business. With customer service like he provided I am shocked people would come back. But then again I guess there are bike snobs out there that appreciate being told they need to best technology just to do a simple bike ride.. Very sad... P.S. We ended up taking the bike home and fixed what he said couldn't be fixed and then taking it to another shop to have the final tune up done.... This is a quick first hit - but I visited them for the first time recently in need of a simple part - just a bolt/locking nut combo. Nothing fancy, but essential. The guy who helped me was happy to assist - and found a perfect match on the bench. The best part, he sent me off free of charge. First, I place a high value on a service minded business that exercises sincere honesty. Pedal Power sells Trek and Specialized mostly which are good bikes. I've been on my Trek since 2004 and love it. My purchases to date with Pedal Power have been all clothing and mechanical. I expect that I will buy a road bike for my wife with them. But my review is more service focused. While these folks definitely want to sell bikes and cross country skis, they are more about helping their customers than selling. AND they actually pay just as much attention to you even if you just need a $35 tune-up. No snootiness here at all! read more

Easily one of my worst sales experiences. Went into the shop looking to buy a new road bike and was consistently oversold on stuff that I told them several times was not in my price range. When I asked questions about why one feature was more or less they couldn't give me an answer other than "The cheap one is cheap". The best part came when one of the salesmen told me that the bike I wanted couldn't qualify for their 30 day money back guarantee because it was "cheap" and I wouldn't "Love it". Shady sales tactics and rude, unintelligent salesmen will keep me from ever coming back here. Avoid at all costs, there are plenty of good bike shops closer to Boston. read more

Great bike gear customer service. I'm a cyclist with disabilities. My bike is perfect for me, though expert cyclists would probably snicker at it. I get zero attitude here. Instead, they listen to what I need and help me outfit my bike for maximal comfort, function, and safety. My bike's getting old, and I will definitely shop here when I start thinking about replacing it. The basket on my 25yo XC ski pole broke late in the season, and these guys found and custom-cut a new set to give me the closest approximation possible to what I had before (which is no longer available). Again, no attitude about my gear or my skill level. They just respectfully met my needs and made me feel good about my activity level. My husband bought his first set of XC skis here late in the season this past winter and was happy with the attention to his needs and his skiing style, but he thought the prices were high, particularly for the boots. read more

Just bought a new Roubaix Comp bike from Pedal Power. I couldn't believe the attention they gave me. John spent literally an hour sizing the bike for me. Dan gave me the grand tour of the bike and his enthusiasm was infectious. The bike has been great. They even encouraged me to bring It in after a week to give the shifting a little adjustment. I took advantage of that service. This was my second bike. Except for chain lube, which is very cheap at Walmart, I get all my service and accessories here. read more

Over the past couple of months I have spent approximately $3600 +at this shop purchased an Electra TOWNIE GO ($2600),a TOWNIE 7D ($500), a hitch rack for my vehicle(approx $500) along with multiple accessories...6 days ago I contacted them to get me the price from Electra for replacement fenders for a bike I owned..they said they would get back to me the following day..when I didn't hear from them the following day I called them again..spoke with Joyce and she said she would get right back to me with the price and availability..6 days later...NO WORD FROM THEM..so I contacted an other local bike shop LANDRY's and they got the answer for me within 10 minutes and ordered the parts I needed..meanwhile..ELECTRA was sending a replacement part for one of my other bikes to PEDAL Power..Electra had made arrangements to cover cost associated with this replacement part and installation by PEDAL POWER..today I contacted pedal.power knowing the part should have been in sure enough part was in but I hadn't been contacted by PEDAL POWER..I went there today to collect the part and installed it myself..I expressed my displeasure Over the fact that 6 days out they never got back to me about the original part I needed them to get..they didn't seem to care...HOW MUCH MONEY does one need to spend there before they treat you with prompt service..I guess $3600 OVER THE COURSE of a couple of months isn't enough..footnote: I've also noticed that their ELECTRA accessories are all priced over MSRP..well...because of their delay in responding to my request of 6 days ago family has purchased 3 ELECTRA TOWNIE Go's from GOODALE bike shop in NASHUA (value $7800) and a TOWNIE 7D EQ ($600 + accessories)from LANDRY's .might as well give our business to shops that value their clients...I will take my GO to them while under warranty but will never purchase another bike from them..as pointed out above..purchased the TOWNIE GO ($2600) IN LATE NOVEMBER AND TOWNIE 7D IN MARCH.. read more
