Do NOT bring your child to this practice. Since Dr. Andrew Carlson left, the quality of care has completely collapsed. My son's experience in recent years was disgraceful. One practitioner failed to treat his illness and spoke to him with outright disrespect--completely unacceptable behavior from anyone, let alone a medical professional. Children deserve to be treated with care and dignity, and that was absolutely not the case here. On top of that, the front office staff is consistently rude and dismissive to parents. It's painfully clear they no longer care about their patients or their families. If your child's well-being matters to you, stay far away from this place. read more

I feel it is necessary to fully explain the one star review on this practice. Billing: they have no issues sending you a bill for a copay and not providing the service. My child had an apt canceled and they still billed his insurance (I only caught it when I got the bill for the copay in the mail). Staff: The front office staff is atrocious- no follow through, no call backs, no personality (terrible for working in a pediatric office). The physician we saw took 10 days to send in a prescription for my child who went a week without their medication. This physician also barely assesses the child when in the office: never measured head circumferences of my children when they were infants, no assessment on my last child who was there (point of care strep test + and thus treated the strep and never assessed him, just gave antibiotics), etc. If you are looking for good, thorough care for your child, this is not the place. I went against the advice of others I know who useD this practice and left b/c of the same issues, thinking it was close, convienent, and the pediatrician we were seeing was personable with kids. Don't make the same mistake I made - the kids deserve better care than what this practice can give. read more

Terrible Experience - Completely Unacceptable I am beyond appalled by our recent visit to this pediatric office. My 10-year-old niece was shamed by being called overweight in a very blunt and insensitive manner. It was humiliating for her and completely unprofessional. As if that wasn't enough, the doctor had the nerve to ask my 14-year-old niece repeatedly if she was "felt ok in her own skin." Indoctrination has absolutely NO place in the medical field, especially when it comes to children, who are highly impressionable. Our family came for healthcare, not to be subjected to inappropriate questions that overstep boundaries. This behavior is completely unacceptable, and I will not tolerate anyone trying to impose their personal beliefs or opinions on my children. We expect a doctor's office to offer respectful, responsible care--not push confusing and harmful ideas onto impressionable young minds. The doctors are amazing ! We have never had a problem with them. Very understanding, professional, always ready to help or listen. BUT the reviews about the front desk are VALID. I was there today .. there is a girl that sits in the front with glasses and black hair. She HATES HER LIFE. She HAS to. Idk I what she's got going on at home, but there's no way she's happy outside of work. I was there today and legitimately EVERY time I go there she is so nasty, so short. She treats us as if we are bothering her. I cannot even believe she works with kids. I pray she doesn't have kids of her own bc I just KNOW if she does they are miserable and I'd feel so bad for them. You say hi to her or good morning, she says nothing .. ask her a question? She will cut you off just to answer it and be short. And this isn't just a bad day. She is like this quite literally every time we go. It was so bad today that I came to Yelp to see if other people have this same issue and they in fact DO. It's SO bad that I've considered changing practices JUST BECAUSE OF HER because you have to go through her in order to get to your appt. She's the one that checks you in and out. And she is just so rude. I try not to take it seriously bc I took a psych class once that said people like that hate their lives.. but Jesus you work with kids. I really have trouble believing some of these low star reviews. We've been going here for almost 6 years. Of course we've had our issues, but it's never been anything we couldn't overcome. (I work at a different pediatric practice, so I'm lucky to be able to compare practices.) Maybe it's because most of these reviews are so old, but in our 6 years there, we have always found the front office staff to be friendly and helpful. Dr. Finn has always made coming to the office a pleasure he's kind, fun, smart, and has always been able to both put me at ease and make me feel heard. Dr. Salerno accurately diagnosed my son with a serious skin condition just from a quick glance over a Telehealth visit. She sent us to the hospital with no time to waste and we're really thankful. I believe Elyse Borsuk APRN to be the only reason I was able to breastfeed my son when I was a new mother who was in pain and had no idea what I was doing. Have I had less perfect visits? Yes. But everyone there is human. And I'm human. I've learned to advocate for my son. I've learned to ask for help... and they've always been there for me. 5 stars. They're great. read more

We have been patients of the practice since our child was born in 2015. The doctors we have met are very kind and knowledgeable, and always take time to answer all my questions and explain why they are doing certain exams / shots, etc. The nurses I have spoken with over the phone are as helpful as can be expected (given they can't actually 'see' my child), and great at letting me know if something is normal, or if I need to come in. I haven't personally dealt with any unpleasant front office staff, however I do know who the other reviews are mentioning - I agree it is not too much to expect staff to smile every now and then, lighten up, it's a children's doctor office! read more

This rating should be 5 stars because I and the children are very like the doctor. However, the unfriendly font office stuff took the 2 stars away. The big lady with glasses and short bob hair style with no smile on her face. I had noticed that every times, I and the children asked her question or the sticker or ask for a paper work. She was mean and doesn't try to help you for anything. Because she have to walk out of her chair to ask the doctor or nurse, that was to much for her. We left this practice. The reason is because they had our son take two hearing tests, which they claimed he failed. We felt this was preposterous, but we decided to listen to their recommendations. They then had us schedule at Yale and he passed with flying colors. They charged us for each of the tests. They even attempted to charge us for an office visit when we were actually at Yale. We were not happy with the fact that this error was likely due to mistakes on their part; yet they went out of their way to try and charge us for every hearing test. read more

Terrible practice. Nurses and billing person seem miserable , new OD dr. Sheer has terrible bedside manner, failed to send over a cardiology referral and has so little interest in talking to me she asked me after 10 years at this practice to be removed because I missed a vaccine appointment during a pandemic because I was following their guidelines to not come in while awaiting a covid test results. You can not make this stuff up - it is terrible healthcare and I am so happy I found a great practice and no longer need them! read more

I would agree with many of these negative reviews. The staff is not friendly AT ALL and the parent is not made to feel as part of the child's care with the exception of Dr Pei Lei. I really dread having to call the office or come in to the office. In my experience here as a parent, you feel that the staff THINKS, they know everything better than the parent. I have been in the medical field for over 20 years though not in Pediatrics, but I always try and put myself in the patient's position and stay aware of how I, would want to be dealt with as a patient or family member. Medical personnel don't know everything, NOR, always have all the best answers. We all need to remember that one day the roles can switch, and the one in "control" becomes the "dependent" one. This office used to be great. It was heartbreaking to remove my three year old and one year old from their care. They lost Dr. Zelson due to retirement (and would not let him work part-time) and then lost Cindy Wechsler, and now have no one to take on their patients. They hired a new doc who doesn't finish his residency until July. Just not acceptable when you have little kids who need to be seen. Dr. Zelson is what made this place great. Now, all they have left is the cool choo choo train and sweet Bunny in the front office. MaryAnn, the scheduling chick, can be a total b*tch. Go somewhere else until this office gets it together. I am now the 4th mama in my network of friends that has pulled the plug on them in the past couple of months. read more

We have seen Dr. Wiesner since before my 11-year-old daughter was born as she was willing to meet with us so we could interview her to see if she would be a good fit for us. She sold us in the first 30 seconds. She always gives us an ample amount of time when we are in the office, will take calls to answer any questions we have, and helped get my son tested and put on an IEP. The other docs have been great and attentive when we have seen them for sick visits too. The only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars is it is a pain to get forms completed if you do not have a scheduled office visit; sometimes it can take up to a week. This was problematic for us when our daughter was going to sleep away camp and the camp insisted on having their own forms completed. I understand that this was time when they were short staffed after Dr. Zelson retired and Cindy Wechsler left the practice...I have to hope now that they are fully staffed forms will be completed more timely. The other reason is because they only have evening and weekend appointments for sick visits and even those are sparse. As working parents, it would be easier if we could get later appointments for physicals. read more

We have been coming here since my eldest was born, 11 years ago. He has asthma, which is well controlled. I have 2 other kids, so between all the school germs, we visit atleast once a month! All the staff are warm and friendly with good humor. The kids official doc is Dr Robert, but we have seen pretty much every doc/physicians assistant, nurse practitioner. All are knowledgeable and informative. This is because they do a wonderful job of getting you an appointment that fits your needs. We rarely wait more than 5 mins in the waiting area. Everything is clean and wonderfully updated. I've called the answering service at 2 am and always received a friendly call back from the docs on call. My kids love coming here, they don't even mind the dreaded vaccinations. I once foolishly tried to change practices to one that was closer to my home. That place was dreadful. Never again. Orange pediatrics is worth the drive every time. We even like that it's near Duchess and Dip Top, so when the kids are feeling lousy, we can perk them up with an ice cream cone or curly fries. You will not find a better pediatric group than this one. Don't even bother. Any negative reviews on here are utter crap. We have probably been to the office about 100 times, and never had one bad experience. And yes, I do bring my kids in when they are sick. I like to err on the side of caution. Speaking of which, the staff never treat me like I'm one of those nutty mothers. They welcome us every time we come in. My husband doesn't even mind bringing the kids in! And that's saying a lot. Men are usually loathe to step into a doctors office. You won't regret bringing your child here! read more

I really don't even believe that this practice deserves even one star. I originally went to Dr Fugal out of milford. I had been seeing him for years. When he passed away I was referred to this practice. Every time I would call to get an appointment with a doctor it was just a song and dance about me getting in there to see my doctor. I would always end up with a different doctor so I never became comfortable with anyone there. The secretaries were far from nice and inviting as well. Every time I would go I spent more time in the waiting room than with the doctor. I also was always rushed out and pushed to take some kind of medicine necessary or not. When I went to get my records to switch over to another doctor they didn't even know who I was! They also didn't provide me with all my records either. Such a disappointment! read more

My family has a well-documented allergy to the Pertussis vaccine, and despite there being an alternative to the DTaP vaccine that is available to them, this office has put their ideology over the health of my son. Not only did they lecture me like i was jenny mccarthy trying to not vaccinate, but they actually refuse to order the DT vaccine that is available specifically for the allergy my child has, and therefore will not allow him to be a patient. This is disgusting. What other circumstances do they put policy over the health of their patients? Do children with other drug allergies get put through the ringer and guilted into doing things that is not in the best interest of their children? I cannot believe what this place has put me and my family through. There have been 3 generations born with this allergy, and none of the other members of my family who have had children have gone through anything like this when it came time to vaccinate their children. The woman who finally called me back after almost a week of leaving messages first told me that they "couldn't get" the vaccine which a call to the CDC in CT quickly proved to be untrue. Towards the end of my last call the truth came out where she volunteered that they "weren't comfortable" with it. You weren't comfortable accommodating the special needs of one of your patients that is backed up by a long family history (which includes a fatality and multiple instances of major seizures) and still insisted on a treatment that could result in his death or permanent impairment? Worse yet, you try to guilt the family into doing it and talk down to us as if we are some weirdo anti-vaxxers? Sorry. I can't even believe this, and strongly recommend anyone reading this review seek care elsewhere. read more

Devastated at their treatment of good honest and loyal families. My parents brought my brother and me here since birth and I brought my son as a newborn. After moving away for a year I inquired to reregister my son and they have carelessly turned me away. At my sons birth my insurance broker made a major mistake, and I was advised by health care providers and our insurance agents NOT to pay any bills until the mistake was resolved. The broker's mistakes were so severe, they resulted in him being fired by my workplace. Collections agencies have since forgiven thousands of dollars of incorrectly billed services. To this day I have collections notices come up in audits and ALL of the notices get waived once we provide the information dating back to 2018 when our broker made his mistake. Pediatrics and adolescent medicine refuses to hear this explanation for my account being sent to collections. It is disheartening that my family has been treated as a financial liability due to an error made outside of our control. read more
