It's a Friday afternoon so average crowd with some sitting at the tables with baked goods and coffee and many take-out. The staff are bilingual so were quickly able to serve me. I ordered an almond crossaint and a latte with almond milk. I paid and sat down at a table. The food came quickly. The almond crossaint was flatlet and filled with goodness of almond paste and not too sweet. The latter was balanced slightly sweet from the almond milk. Everything was delicious... First of all, much more attention needs to be paid by the staff and management to details--my last visit the floor was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, and the toilet in the men's room didn't flush. More importantly, they have been serving very poor espresso drinks. When I visited in late December, I ordered a cortado. The espresso was watery and the steamed milk had no foam. Yesterday, I ordered a machiatto. After a moment, the waiter asked "you mean like a cappuccino?" "Yes, I said, but just the foam, no milk." Later he advised me that the milk steam wand was not working and they could not produce foam. The espresso I was served was, once again, watery with little flavor and poor consistency. You could serve a better drink from a cheap automatic espresso machine. So...great idea, lovely space, but seems like the owner(s) is(are) not interested in a high level product, knowledgeable and quality service, and attention to details, which is a pity because the menu looks good and I'd love to come for a weekend brunch.
