Pedricks produce is located along 80. Most times when I am on this side of the bridge I stop on my way back home. I am a fan of roadside produce! Pedricks is pretty large with one half being locally grown produce and the other half gourmet nuts and jams and candies. This is the side of the store I usually have sticker shock. They sell pies. Also, pretty good tamales. Sometimes they have samples out of salsas. They also have tons of hot sauces. I always find something to take back home. Unique varieties of fresh fruit and vegetables, with dried goods, and tamales. The watermelon and tomatoes I bought were a deep red and taste amazing. I also bought a dozen different types of dried beans to try out. The place was packed on a Saturday, but the check-out lines moved quickly. Across the street from Pedrick's is a fig tree the size of a full-grown Sycamore, which gives the place a good vibe. If it hadn't been 110 degrees out, I would've crossed the street to pay my respects. read more

Solid place to grab some bulk pantry snacks and farmers market fruits and veggies. Just outside of Davis, this place didn't have anything that I felt was particularly unique. It specialized in what grocery stores would carry in the bulk pantry a few decades ago: candies, sour belts, oatmeals, trail mixes, nuts, wasabi peas to name a few. In NOV 2024, their pears and apples were gigantic and far cheaper than what my local Lucky and Safeway are charging. (Like $1.69/lb of Honeycrisp vs. $3.99-$4.69/lb.) My sister compared it to Sprouts Farmers Market without all the corporate overtones. I would definitely come here if I had some specific produce I wanted to grab while to/from Davis/Sac and the Bay. read more

It's a great place to get fresh produce and snacks. They have a huge selection of nuts, vegetable chips, fruit chips and candies. I love getting their vegetables chips, banana chips, habanero pistachios, honey roasted cashews, dark chocolate almonds and more! They also have garlic chips for garlic lovers. The staff saw me interested and let me have a sample. It's really good. It's incredibly nice and thoughtful of them to offer samples before committing to a whole bag. Given all the rave reviews for the tamales, I want to give a little context before I talk about our tamale order... We are from SoCal and are a Mexican American family. Since moving to the area, we have been trying to locate authentic, tasty Mexican food and it has been a struggle. Pedrick's kept getting recommended to me over and over so this last weekend I finally went and picked up some chicken and pork tamales. They were not great. The masa was thick, crumbly and dry, the filling was really chunky and balled up in the middle. They're on the smaller size too. I've had worse for sure, but given all the 5 star feedback, I'm thinking either I got a mediocre batch or these type of tamales being considered amazing is NorCal thing and when asking for tamale recommendations I need to be more specific. This place was packed with customers and everyone was working hard. Customer service was helpful and quick. There is plenty of parking and everyone was in good spirits. I used to drive 40 minutes to this place all the time for the delicious tamales (I believe called chepo's) along with the goodies they have inside. This place is a gem! Perfect pit stop for snacks and ofc, the TAMALES. I got half a dozen pork and chicken tamales. I wished that it came with salsa, but it does not. $2.85 plus tax. There was a chili cheese tamales option, but I did not get that. Great spot for stop by for great deals of fruits, vegetables and road trip snacks. This is such a great spot to find snacks! Absolutely must stop here if you're going on a road trip. Prices are pretty reasonable. There's a little bit of everything here. If you're sensitive to sugar, you can find a great assortment of low sugar or sugar free candies and treats here! I was really excited to see so many options and had a hard time choosing just a few to buy. The sugar free salt water taffy is delish and fluffy! I've also tried the sugar free strawberry licorice and it's yummy and has a good texture. (Iffy for sugar free stuff sometimes) I also really recommend the garlic chips if you enjoy garlic. This is a quaint little produce store conveniently located off the freeway. They have so much to choose from: fresh produce, salami, beef jerky, nuts, dried fruits, chocolate, olive oils, and a whole section of HOT sauce. They have awesome prices and their produce and fruit is soooo fresh. I have NEVER seen carrots as huge as what they have here (SEE PIC). OMG! This place is amazing!!! Went on a Saturday with my in-laws on our way to SanFrancisco and we loaded up on gorgeous produce and goodies! They have so much going on in this place and most of it is irresistible! Just be aware, it gets crowded, so please be patient with your fellow patrons and enjoy yourself. I have always wanted to stop by a produce stand on the way back from the Bay area and now I finally have! I am sure there are many in the area but this place has all thr good reviews and I can see why. Their selections are big from veggies/fruits, nuts and dairy products. The employees are fast and efficient, yet verynice and welcoming. They have some samples for their dry products. Their pricing is decent (though some stuff were not necessarily cheap). What I would love to see is maybe some smoothie stand or ice cream stand? I know they prob do not have time or resource in the building for that tho. "It's an an absolute zoo!"- said by one wise female customer to me while in waiting in line to checkout. It is the best way to describe this cute lil produce shop (I agree with that quote with love, I promise!!) I have never stopped by Pedrick Produce. I've passed it over the years and never made a stop. That stops today!! :) It was an impromptu trip, but, those tend to be the best trips for me! Full of adventure and wanderlust! I thought it's a very adorable store. I already had a preview of the great buys on produce before walking in..there's a clear bag full of scallions (green onions) for only 99 cents!! It was for what I'm guessing was a 3 lb bag worth of scallions! I didn't need that much scallions for what I was making for dinner. Now, I think of it ..I should have grabbed them anyway! Pedrick Produce has a lot of local produce, nuts, seasonings, snacks, etc to the heart's content. They even sell Fenton's ice cream in the lil fridge by the registers! PP is very small with very narrow aisles...getting around the store is a challenge and this is what the quote at the beginning was in regards to. :) Patience is a virtue! After grabbing my essentials, I waited in the line until I was called to the counter. It wasn't a long wait(the line got a lot shorter from when I arrived initially). My cashier was fast and very nice. Although it was a bit chaotic (I mean, I came by around 12:30pm on a Sunday ..which can be peak time for any store), I honestly fell in love at first buy! Ya'll I haven't been to Pedrick's in awhile and we made a pit stop on the way home from camping. I knew the tamales looked different but bought same anyway. Previously their tamales were from Chapo's Tamales in Elmira. It appears they are now making them in house and the quality is the not the same. The one I ate was soggy and wrapped in parchment paper over the corn husk. It was difficult to eat in the car and overall just a step down from the tamales they used to have. Le sigh. Still a reliable stop for fresh produce, dried goods, Fenton's ice cream and fair prices but go elsewhere for tamales. Guess I'll have to go to Chapo's directly read more

The variety of items is just crazy... end to end, Pedricks is packed. There's candy, pasta, and area for cheese and some meats, they have a refridgerator area of drinks and other goodies. An assortment of fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, And let's me not forget to mention the wall of sauces and seasonings. They have hot tamales available in chicken, pork and cheese. The staff are helpful. The lines can get long and kinda cramped but need not worry, they are quick to get line moving along. It's conveniently located right of the I80. They always have fresh-made pies and tamales. Their produce is good, clean, and varied/seasonal. The location is small so be prepared to be patient, especially if most have carts. My family likes the different nuts, seeds, and specialties like mustard, salami, and yummy chocolate... Most of the service help is younger, so they are trying but always pleasant. I shopped at Pedricks for years but lately the quality has diminished. The prices are higher too. When I called about the price on a 25 lbs of oranges was told $9.99. The next day when I shopped there were no oranges for that price. The only ones were $22.95. That was one week ago and now half are rotten!!! I have usually been able to keep them for about 2 weeks. Apparently, they are not that freshly picked. I won't be shopping there as often as I had been. read more
