So grateful to have the Appliance Tech Yuri and Mike at Appliance Guard who always help me.. I have so many appliance stories I could tell and too many for different home located at the beach cities . They are always helpful giving me the best advice and solution to resolve any appliance issues. Once they fix the appliance, I don't have any problems. If I need to replace, they let me know immediately and guide me to get the best appliance to save cost and time. My bill was $430 to replace the belt, rollers and idler pulley. Value? Anyway, fast forward six months (now). Dryer broke again and I called the company to discuss the issue. First call went to voicemail. No return call. Second call days later was answered by office manager who said she would consult with the business owner and get back to me. Again, no return call. My dryer is still broken. It appears the problem is only a broken or displaced belt. I'm not accusing the company of faulty work but for what I was charged I expected better custome service. When we went to the store to report the issue, we were told to call the next day to talk to a manager. I called the manager 3 times before he returned my calls. He said they did not have a replacement dryer and it would take 2 weeks to order one. He offered to contact LG . LG referred us to a repair company MTG who sent a repair person who didn't have a replacement part even though we had sent MTG a photo of the broken part and description. After the repair person left. Two lint filters arrived from LG. I went to Howard's this morning 12/6/2025 and it is closed with a sign on the door that says CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

I asked my wife if she noticed it before and she said she did and just tucked it back into the gasket without telling me. Unfortunately, that wire keeps water from leaking out of the washer and stuffing it back in is not a solution. Myrna at Gardena Appliances had been so helpful during our crisis when our built in oven died and gave us advice to save money, I decided to give her a call to see what they could do. GA was the only company that gave me a price for the entire job (as long as nothing extra was required) instead of giving me the price for just coming out and saying they would credit that to the complete job. Props to GA for that. All the other companies Yelp referred only revealed service call prices. How do you compare one mystery with another? Didn't need to worry about that with GA. Myrna and Jose were able to come out the same day and when she learned that I was the one who had left a complimentary Yelp review for her previous assistance, her face lit up and really appreciated the review. I'm so happy we were finally able to do business. They took care of the problem in no time flat and for an extremely reasonable price. I look forward to calling them first if we have appliance problems in the future that aren't covered under warranty. They take pride in their work and serving the community in the South Bay. As consumers, we're at the mercy at times of the repair company when it comes to charges. But, South Bay Appliance came to the rescue! I set up the appointment with them and Tom came out to analyze the problem. Within an hour, he found the issue and communicated with me the cost to repair. After a condescending speech about how to use a microwave, I said I've been using one for fifty years. He said verbatim, "they don't make them like they used to". It was less than a week after purchasing. I found a better one at Costco for about the same price. I recommend anywhere but here.
