    Matcha latte

We had gingerbread chai, matcha latte, early bird crepe, and Emilia crepe. Everything was delicious and priced well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff were friendly and the cafe was cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I only didn't like that it was difficult to visit as a group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Based on all my previous reviews, Peekskill Coffee House gets a rare 5 Over the YEARS they have not slipped down as most establishments do over time in terms of quality and service. They truly aim to always please. Cannot take anything away from them except a takeout orderWe have been "regulars" here, now, for a good number of years. Keep going PCH [bring back the musicians ]

The service was very friendly and so very sweet when ordering and asking about the menu. Even for me an outsider visiting the area felt like local here. Just had a mixed berry mango smoothie and it was just right amount of sweet and bursting with fresh fruit favor, plus the cup it was served was huge, it felt bottomless trying to drink it up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the local decor and feel of places were had retro and modern sitting and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also the refrigerator magnets they had for sell were very funny.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They really amazing choices in the bakery side and great local choices from cold beverages. I will definitely have try the crapes on another visit.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Peekskill coffee house is very cozy and had lots of eclectic furniture and decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was tasty. The prosciutto tasted fresh. I loved my oatmilk flat white so much that I ordered a second one to go! My mom was pleased with her London fog. My mom ordered the Emilia but instead of on a crepe asked for a panini. My early bird crepe was delicious and filling. The staff was warm and friendly.

Came in on a Saturday mid day. They were busy but not crazy busy. Our order was taken promptly and the gentleman taking our order was funny and helpful. The ambiance of the shop is homey. Mix matched table and chairs but clean. Plenty of space to sit. There is also a self service bar with condiments, straws, cup covers, milks, and napkins. Someone was constantly monitoring and refilling. Our food came out quickly. First was my marshmallow iced latte with oatmilk. This was spot on. Not too sweet but could taste the quality of the espresso. Then came the food. The piggly wiggly (ham and cheese panini) and the early bird (crepe with bacon and cheese). Both hot and packaged well to go. Panini was perfectly crispy. I'd definitely come back to try a pastry or a sweet crepe.

Peekskill coffee is a super cute coffee shop and restaurant. I got their latte with raspberry syrup, which I've never seen before. I also got one savory crepe and one sweet crepe, the berry bomb. One crepe is the perfect serving for one person. I wish the savory crepe had more chewy cheese, but it was filling and tasty!! The berry bomb wasn't overly sweet, which is good. I really like the vibe of the store and the surrounding area. The staff are friendly, and I would recommend this place for brunch or as a place to work, as there were multiple people with their laptops.

Looking for a decent GF place to wait for a friend in the hospital, I landed at Peekskill Coffee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really liked the initial vibes, with plenty of seating that catered not only to those with laptops and those who were passing through![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went with the barista's recommendation of the Praying Mantis Crepe, and an iced oatmilk London Fog. While the latte was slightly weaker than I'm used to, it had a decent flavor. I was very excited for the crepe, until I saw it. It looked very plain and dry. I definitely wish I had looked up photos before ordering. While I did really enjoy the flavors, I found myself wishing there was some kind of sauce in the side, to help with the texture of the crepe itself. But it was very filling! That being said, it's lovely to see so many gluten free options on the menu, so if I'm ever in the area again, I could see myself visiting Peekskill Coffee again!

This is an adorable little coffee house! I almost gave four stars and then I was like wait why and I had to bring it up to 5. The drinks and snacks are awesome, everyone who works here is nice, but most of all the ambience is perfect. It's a great place to sit and relax and have your drink. They even have a little kids library in the center. I come here pretty much every time I'm in the area!

Another city, another opportunity to find amazing coffee. I searched for such a spot while visiting the Hudson Valley last year and Peekskill popped up. Though 45 minutes away, I knew anything worth its weight in coffee beans is worth the drive. And what a beautiful drive it was! Two lane back roads for most of the trip. But I digress, let's get to Peekskill. The spot is hard to miss. Signage, paintings, outdoor seating, and of course a endless line of people walking out with a beverage in their hand. Though there is parking immediately around the corner, I found a public (and free) lot just two blocks away. After a brief walk around downtown, it was time to treat my taste buds. Oh the open door experience. That's when you open the front door of a cafe-coffee shop-restaurant-etc. and the sights-sounds-aromas wash over you. This was definitely a open door experience. Immediately I saw their intentionality in adhering to the nostalgia of the location. Walls and ceilings and flooring were preserved well and the eclectic furniture added to the ambiance. Music played softly, conversations were a buzz, the grinder was preparing beans for pour overs and espresso. The smells of milk frothing and waffles coming to life were at the forefront. I knew it was time to settle in for a while. My standard, the Americano, started me off. A tear almost rolled off my cheek as I sipped the last drop. I immediately went up to order a pour over, and get coffee beans for when I returned home. I thought that would be enough. I thought wrong. I decided to get a bag of beans of the coffee I had just completed, some stickers, and a cold brew. I began to wonder if I would ever leave, or sleep that night. Eventually I did both. But before I did, I had the good fortune of getting to chat with the apprentice roaster who did the espresso beans that were in my Americano. I was able to tell him without reservation how perfectly balanced the roast was (not to mention the shot pull). He smiled with pride and thanked me for the feedback. Honestly, I could have spent an entire day there (especially not having ordered a waffle or crepe), but commitments beckoned. Until next time, make a visit in my stead.

The Ferrero Crepe (Nutella with Bananas)

Peekskill Coffee House has reopened after undergoing a recent renovation. Happily the menu and coffee options remain unchanged. The space looks brighter, fresher and roomier despite accommodating a new beverage chiller. Re-organization of furniture and the relocation of cutlery and napkin stations helped to create the added sense of space. A new modern couch now takes centre stage. However the quirky decor, vibrant color palette, and cute retro furniture which gives this place a special charm is thankfully intact. This is a proper coffee house with experienced baristas preparing your favorite brew. We love their cappuccinos. Randy always makes a good cuppa, very smooth with a nice layer of milk foam. We usually order their crepes or waffles which are made fresh right when you order. I like my crepes with just a light dusting of powdered sugar. For special occasions, we would order The Ferrero (with nutella and bananas) or the American Pie with apples, cinnamon, caramel sauce and ice cream, both are also equally enjoyable. If you come for lunch, try their paninis. The Mushroom Melt with tomatoes and cheese is delish!

States gluten-free on the menu, however I'm not sure how staff is trained. Ordered a savory crepe and beef and potato stew. Both were delicious however be careful about cross contamination if you're highly sensitive to gluten/wheat. We ordered gluten free and the stew came out with a roll when questioned the server said "oh we need to get better at that" they did remove it from the plate with a napkin. They did not change out the platter which the bowl arrived on just left crumbs on top. We did our best with the napkins and covered the space that the bread touched in hopes that we wouldn't experience ill effects. Unsure if they clean the grill/cooking area between batches as the gluten-free crepe did cause some issues immediately after eating. 3. Overall, the food was tasty, reasonably priced especially for gluten-free food. If we get a chance to go back we may ask the staff for better technique if possible especially since we have an actual wheat allergy.

A Hidden Gem for Turkish Coffee Lovers and Gluten-Free Foodies…read more Nestled in a cozy little spot on Main Street in Beacon, Royal Crepes is one of those rare spots that delights both the adventurous coffee drinker and the gluten-free gourmand. From the moment you step in you feel at home. Turkish Coffee: Bold, Beautiful, and Balanced The Turkish coffee here is exceptional--brewed traditionally in a cezve and served in delicate porcelain cups, it's rich, aromatic, and velvety smooth. The barista doesn't skimp on the grind or the ritual. Each sip offers the bold bitterness you'd expect, softened by the subtle hint of spice and an optional touch of sugar. Served with a tiny square of Turkish delight, it's not just a drink--it's a moment. Gluten-Free Crepes: A Revelation Gluten-free crepes often fall into the category of "good enough," but at Royal Crepes, they're in a league of their own. Thin, tender, and lacy at the edges, these crepes strike the perfect texture--no graininess, just soft and satisfying. The savory options are hearty without being heavy, and the sweet selections--like the lemon and sugar crepe add almonds and raspberries or get the mixed berry crepe--are nuanced and indulgent. The ambiance is relaxed yet artful creating a calm backdrop. The staff are kind and knowledgeable, happily explaining ingredients and checking in with genuine hospitality. They're clearly proud of their menu--and rightly so. Whether you're seeking an elevated coffee experience, a gluten-free brunch that doesn't feel like a compromise, or just a tranquil place to unwind, Royal Crepes delivers. It's a rare find that respects tradition while catering beautifully to modern dietary needs. Five stars

Savory crepes are offered Breton style using buckwheat flour. These galettes bretonnes are light and crispy with an earthly toasted flavor, the ideal counterpoint to the fillings that accompany them such as hearty European cheeses, charcuterie, tangy pickles or spicy arugula leaves. Among them, galettes Choupette (fig, arugula, prosciutto, goat cheese), Ractiflette (potato, watercress, Raclette cheese, charcuterie) and Complète Jambon (Gruyère, organic egg, country ham) are super delish and totally worth a try. Sweet crepes, made with whole wheat flour, are the soft fluffy crepes we are more familiar with around here. Personal favorites include the Traditionnelle (butter, sugar), Hugette (pear, dark chocolate, almonds) and the Amour et jalousie (Nutella, banana, strawberry). Lots of beverage options here! The coffee is great, as are their ciders and their freshly squeezed (orange or grapefruit) juices.

What an excellent find on the lower east side…read more Mrs. E. is a sweet crepe aficionado. If it's not honey and butter she would've ordered the apple, caramel and walnut crepe. She reports an excellent experience! I tried the more savory Smoked Turkey with shrooms and Swiss Cheese. As big as they are, it was so good I was still thinking of getting seconds. They also have vegetarian, fruit and chocolate crepes. They are open until 2am. Not that we'd ever need it, it's nice to know. We stopped at a good time mid-morning, not too long a line and it moved pretty fast. The place is a bit small but there's seating outside. If there wasn't so much NYC to see, we would definitely be back. 10/24

Creperie on Ludlow St came up in my search and we happened to be down that way on Sunday. I'm also a huge ice cream and gelato fan, but husband is lactose intolerant so he prefers non-dairy. Last year we discovered the amazing vegan ice cream at Orchard Grocery, but I wanted the real thing this trip and he apparently hadn't wanted a frozen treat at all so wouldn't do Orchard Grocer for himself and a different place for me. Happy medium? Share a good crêpe! We found it at Crêperie. SO many choices, many similar to ones we loved in France. Extensive selection, but it didn't take long to decide on the apple-walnut-caramel crêpe to share, costing not much more than 2 ice creams. We watched the lone young man as he poured batter onto the round griddle to just the perfect thinness; as he expertly flipped it; as he loaded on plenty of apple compote, plenty of walnuts, and gently squeezed caramel sauce. Then he folded it into a neat rectangle, scooped it into an exactly the same size pan, flipped the whole thing over onto another griddle and left it to heat while he made a crêpe for the person behind us. At exactly the right moment (was he watching the clock? or maybe he's just THAT good!), he flipped it over, slid the crêpe onto a plate, artistically drizzled more caramel sauce on top and then gently shook some powdered sugar over it. Handed me 2 forks and knives and we sat on stools at the counter for our Sunday afternoon treat! Excellent! They have several savory crêpes (in Paris, those were usually buckwheat crêpes called galettes) and many sweet ones. Unfortunately it's more of a takeout place, with just the few stools at a counter inside, and a couple of small tables outside. I'm still looking for a genuine Parisian-style restaurant with a good selection of galettes and crêpes - but this was a great find and I definitely recommend it to you!
