They claim they must have my social security number to file my insurance. I have had 5 claims filed by other providers in the last 3 months without my SS number, and all were paid. I called BC/BS and they confirmed SS not required. My member number, DOB & name is all they need. I was told they would mail me the bill and I could file it myself because THEIR new system does not allow filing W/O SS#. Also, when I arrived at the appointment they claimed they had called me and left messages that they cancelled my appt, There were no missed calls on my cell. No messges. And I was getting emails and texts reminding me of the time. I looked at the web site while still there and hit the "check in" online, and suddenly they were able to see me after all. It looked like they had attempted to cancel online 15 minutes before my appointment. So - no. I do not recommend this practice AT ALL. read more

Had a strange interaction with a receptionist when trying to schedule an appointment for a family member. I asked to schedule an appointment with a particular doctor on a Tuesday after 12 pm because that weekday fits our family's work schedule. I was told that doctor doesn't work on Tuesdays--no problem, perfectly understandable. It's a simple, routine appointment, nothing complicated. I told them we would be willing to see any practitioner in the office, was told that wasn't possible, we had to see the same doctor we had last time. No doctor or NP in that office works on Tuesdays? Why can't we switch providers? Maybe there were no appointments open on Tuesday in the foreseeable future?--also perfectly understandable, but not what was communicated. They didn't seem to check when the next available Tuesday was nor try to accommodate our work-schedule at all. I wish our schedules allowed us the freedom and flexibility to just come in whenever. :( read more

This medical center is made up of 7 physicians. Some are down stairs and the others are up stairs. I usually come here to see Dr. Vicki Frye. She always helps me and I trusts her. Likewise, she trusts me also. There is a pediatrician down stairs on the right as you walk in. Health Works is on the left just as you walk in. I have been going to health works ever since I moved here. This is their 3rd location in 15 years of going to them. I come here when I get sick. I have tried once going some where else but I came back. So, i guess that says a lot. They can do blood work here too to check your Cholesterol or any other health issues. You can also simply get your ears cleaned out all the up to diagnosing as to why you are sick. They will give you shot too if you need one. Of course you can get some antibiotics to cure you. read more

office staff are all incredibly nice and efficient, which is very uncommon for a doctors office; however, the "doctor" or Nurse Jesus Melendez who is treating me I think has some serious issues which need to possibly be watched by whoever issues medical licenses. The problem I have is that every time I see him, he has no idea who I am or what is wrong with me. He also needs me to remind him what my prognosis is, and what he has done. He did not remember ordering my MRI, even when I was there for a follow-up visit to go over my MRI, or even performing the surgery on me or how many times I've had the surgery done at his office. Now keep in mind, I've seen this guy 4X in the span of 6 weeks, and I do not have the type of look or personality someone forgets easily, good or bad. I just think this doctor is either on tons of drugs or simply doesn't care enough about his patients to review their chart before coming to see them. He also dictates into a recorder for most of our meeting so we have very little discussion time about how to move forward with my condition, which is outright rude. Now I have NEVER had a doctor show: 1. blatant negligence of my condition 2. not properly explain what is wrong and how to proceed 3. dictate into a machine during our appointment without first talking to me about my medical issue 4. expect me to continually remind him of my treatment history while under his care 5. His personal hygiene is very poor. In addition to seeking out a 2nd opinion because I don't trust this guy, I also feel compelled to write a Yelp review about him. I really think he should be reported to the AMA or whoever monitors doctors licenses, because his lack of awareness and blatant disregard for his patients is what leads to horrible medical accidents like administering the wrong prescriptions, mistaken diagnosis, performing surgery on the wrong body part, etc. read more
