Located in marina district San Francisco. Great place to work! I was looking for a cafe to work in near my guest house. I didn't want to go all the way back to financial district. This was one of the only cafes with power outlets and WiFi. Coffee is always good at Peet's. I love the iced white chocolate mocha, but do not like the regular mocha. It's a relatively large retail space for San Francisco. read more

Very good coffee drinks, baked goods & teas in a pleasant shop in the heart of Chestnut Street in the Marina District. Happy to enjoy a delicious cafe latte made with oat milk (they can customize your beverage), and a berry scone that the staff kindly warmed up for us. My companion had a cup of hot tea. Friendly, helpful and professional service by the staff. You order here at one counter and pick up fairly quickly from the other counter where the barista is. Nice environment with a high ceiling and a living plant wall in the back area of the shop. They have many tables & seats but this is a popular spot so it may be a matter of luck to get a seat and/or table. read more

Virtual workers have taken over Peets and turned it into their free co-working space and in the process are destroying cafe culture and ambience. Management does nothing about it and in fact seem to readily promote it. After 20+ years patronizing Peets, I'm looking for an alternative where I can enjoy a morning cup of Joe undisturbed by a room full of people on Zoom calls and speaker phones. read more

This Peet's location is freezing. It's about 60 degrees outside in San Francisco, yet the air conditioning is blasting as if it's the middle of summer. The indoor temperature feels closer to 50 degrees, uncomfortably cold for a cafe. Also, while the space itself is large, the seating layout is poorly thought out, making it hard to meet up with a friend or simply sit and enjoy your coffee. read more

Everything was great, the person taking my order was super nice and we had a small conversation, I took my lovely drink around all the shops and eventually had to use the restroom. This was great as I remember peets having a restroom when i used it earlier, i even remembered the code. Then i was stopped by one of the baristas calling me a "Brandy Meville girl" saying this isnt a public restroom. I responded saying we ordered here earlier and i have proof on my phone payments, but they made a snarky comment along the lines of "wow you're really prepared", i knew they thought i was lying but let us in anyway. I understand it is annoying that this location must get a heavy flow of customers from surrounding stores trying to use the bathroom, but it was my first time visiting these shops (including the one he called us by) and it hurt that this barista used their preconceived idea from other shoppers on us and decided to call us disrespectful names with a snarky connotation. I do hope this location finds a way to fix this bathroom problem but this experience left me leaving this area a bit unwelcomed. read more

This was my first time going to Peet's, my coffee was decent. Had an Iced Black Tie. The Gal taking my order was nice. When it came to the one making the drinks was just ok. I hate that I have to write an average review on this Peet's but I come here daily. I did have to go on a work trip for the past 9 months and after coming back, I feel like the coffee quality has deterioted. First of all, I respect the heck out of the staff and everyone that works here. Everyone has been nothing but nice and kind. I've never had a bad experience with the staff here, nothing, and I've come here basically every day. They've been consistent day in day out even during the worst of Covid! So I also understand there may be supply chain issue. However the cold brew quality had definitely gone down the lately. Again, I've been gone for awhile from the city, but I remember the cold brew tasting much more full bodied and deeper. But the cold brew I've had (even when I asked for a new one from the very understanding staff thinking I got a bad batch), it was still watery. It's not even the ice level. The whole drink just tastes like.. water with coffee flavor in it. It just tastes like it was diluted with lots of water. Peet's cold brew is without a doubt my favorite drink but I'm very sad that lately the quality is nowhere near where it was before. Again, the staff, location, and general vibe here is AWESOME, but I hope the quality of the drinks themselves goes back up. read more

Just went there today around 1:30 pm with my father and one of the girls with brown wavy hair in the back started talking badly about him to her co-worker. All my dad asked was for bone-dry cappuccino and sugar. She was so disrespectful and rude. Natural light and a living wall of green = AMBIENCE overload! A very busy Peet's. Although there is no need to scrum for a seat. People trickle in and out at a pretty good rate all day long, like the tides in the San Francisco Bay only a short walk away. Excellently designed cafe. High ceilings penetrated by four large skylights lend a melange of natural light. Perfect for living back wall's photosynthesis. A great feeling to be here. All this light is especially important in a part of the city than can be Uber foggy. The coffee is fair. Exactly what you would expect from a coffee chain like Peet's. read more

Second time in this Peet's. While Tony was finishing up my Caramel Macchiato, Breve, extra long pull at 200°, I as per usual for the past 20 plus years, requested the leftover milk (half n half) in a small cup. To my complete shock he replied a sharp "No!" turned his back & walked away. I stood at the counter bar after a while I asked him why I could not have the leftover milk that was going to be thrown away and he replied, "that is what you paid for," motioning his eyes and chin to my drink. I continued standing there STUNNED! He then asked a long moment later if there was anything else I needed to which I replied, "yes, I want the excess milk" again he said no! The manager noticed I was perplexed and asked if there was something he could help with. I told him what occurred and made a snide remark and he told me he would take care of it. My coffee was $7.25 "AND" I had to pay over $1.00 for parking. It has been one month and I have spoken to Jeff twice via phone and responded to his email that has now been met with silence. {{made multiple attempts to reach out to Store Manager, Jeff via the email he sent me,}} As well, I have left many messages for Wayne, the District Leader after our initial conversation on the same day. Neither has responded even though Jeff told me that he has received both emails that I sent him. That is even with the promise that he would contact me no later than yesterday, by the days end. I have been a long time customer (over 20 years) of Pete's Coffee & Tea. Not once ever have I been treated so slightly or disregarded as a person by any other Peet's store. It is very clear that neither Jeff nor Wayne have any interest in honoring their word or correcting both their wrong and the assistant Manager Tony. My review is solely for the Chestnut Street Peet's Coffee in San Francisco, CA, in how they have responded to and handled this incident. read more

The service here is great. The staff quick and attentive. One piece of improvement could be a bit more the ambiance which I'd like if they adhered more to regular coffee shop music. It's Bastille Day (July 14,2019) and here in Peets Chestnut it feels like high drama. The workers are intent about getting that brew out to you! Me: I'm difficult. I want my hot cocoa just right. You remember that Seinfeld episode where they talk about coffee, " I'll have a half cafe decaf.." Yeah, I'm that difficult. And when I'm standing around and waiting for my beverage, I feel pretty chill. I've just walked the length of Fort Mason, Crissy Fields and more than half the GG Bridge. There is a running race going on and loads of people are running along the western pedestrian walk of the bridge. It looks like sporty salmon flowing across the seat and down the promenade to the road along Fort Point. My oh my!! The crowd of people! Then I get to Peets Chestnut...omg, it's also crowded at 9:30 am. Well, I love my Peets so I wait and the line moves pretty quickly. I like my cocoa extra hot and flat with extra chocolate syrup. And no cow milk...no no no! Almond milk all the way. The pick wait is pretty long but I watch barista make the drink. Yeah, it's ready. I snab a high stool on the side of the coffee bar. What do you know! There's a New York Times on a banquette near me. Ahhh, hot Peets cocoa...makes my Sunday perfect! read more

Not the best Peet's location only because it gets so darn busy in the morning, it's impossible. The mobile app has not worked for me in months and ordering in person is not even an option unless you can wait 40 minutes in the shop on weekday mornings. Basically the only time I can go is in the afternoon when I have a later shift. Super disappointing that they're so understaffed here because the taste is fine. read more

For the past year and a half, we have ordered both in store and Togo, with Togo being more convenient. At this point, we are frustrated with this Peet's for its lack of attention to those who order Togo. We've both given this feedback in person and have called twice and spoke with a manager about the lack of quality when we order Togo, and still our drink orders are wrong and disgusting! Either the drinks lack the flavoring, the whipped cream, or both, with this last order spilled inside of the bag, only to contain 3/4 of the original (paid for) drinks, so the larges we ordered came to us as smalls! read more

Look, it's Peet's Coffee. They have locations all over the place and I've gotta give em props for being able to keep the quality consistent across all locations. Logistically, that's tough to do. The coffee is fine. Nothing to write home about but, it gets the job done. The other nice part about this spot is that they open early! Most of the boutique shops don't open till much later so if you're in a pinch and feening for a cup of joe, this is a great option. Was in the area before a dinner engagement and we decided to get some coffee and we stopped by this Peet's on Chestnut. Walking in, I have to say this is one of the nicest and largest Peet's that I've visited. The store is wide and deep with seating in front, along the wall and in back. The counter and barista area is huge. In fact there are bar seating around the barista area. We got our coffee and sat in at a table in back and had a good view of the entire store. We logged onto the store's Wi-Fi and it was on the slow side. Maybe there was just a lot of people in the store connected. Aside, from Wi-Fi, this is a nice Peet's. read more

Pros: Great location, good ambiance, decent coffee. Good place to grab a cup and chill Cons: - Their pastries always look old, sad, and dried out. Yesterday I saw a tray of pastries with flies swarming about and having a snack. I thought this was tray of old pastries they were going to throw out. But then I witnessed one of the workers picking up the pastries one by one and transferring them into the glass case display for sale. He just nonchalantly shooed away the flies each time with his gloved hands. Super gross and unsanitary. Def stay away from the pastries! - The bathrooms are disgusting and smelly read more
