The nursery provision at Pegasus School is very very good - staff are friendly, willing to help out, and establish an excellent rapport with children. Uniform is encouraged but not compulsory. It is possible to pay for extra sessions on top of state-provided free sessions, and the rate is very reasonable.
The primary school is not performing as well as schools in better areas of the city but it does very well with what it has, and its value-added scores are excellent - it takes children from a range of backgrounds, some with little English, and gets them all to a good standard by y6. There is a big emphasis on environment and outdoors - the children grow flowers, fruit and vegetables, and attend Forest School - and kindness and attentiveness to others' needs.
The school has an attached cafe, which uses produce grown at the school, which was opened by Raymond Blanc in 2007. It is a very popular place to stop by for a drink and cake before or after collecting children, and the staff there also work in the school and know the children well. read more
