I lived in Belleville for 25 years and shopped there all the time. The prices are excellent and if you use a lot of lunch meat and slab bacon it would be beneficial to take a day trip to load up your freezer with these items. For example, I purchase Canadian bacon before moved last July at $6.99/#. Maple syrup would be a good item as well and their homemade chicken salad, ham salad, macaroni and potato salads are awesome. They also make dips and one of my favorites is the roasted red pepper dip and the other is a cinnamon walnut raisin cream cheese spread for toast. Don't forget the spice section, and if you need kitchen utensils, large, cast-iron, skillets, and other kitchen needs buy them at Peights, If take a trip to Belleville, make sure that you stop at the Amish Farms and load up on vegetables such as big green, yellow, and red peppers three for a dollar fresh corn out of the field $4.00 a dozen. Prices may be a little higher this summer, but nothing close to what you paying the South Hill suburbs to Pittsburgh. To get a real good sense of how beautiful big valley is take route 22E to I-99 in Altoona towards State College andget off at the Tyrone exit on 453S to route 22E to Water Street. Turn left and continue to 655N to Belleville. Turn right on Walnut street. Stay on Walnut until you come to a stop sign. You will be facing a mountain. Turn left and about 1/2 mile down the road turn right which will take you to Peights. Enjoy the bear alley. read more

Ghandi said that he thought he would like Christians but had yet to meet one. Peight's seems to reflect this behavior. It offers Amish goods and foods. While mostly English were there, it is run by plain people, less plain (Mennonite), or formerly plain people. While I greatly like many of their materials (cheeses are great, learned to make flavored cream cheeses from them; sausages, bulk cereals, pasta, salts), their team was not wearing masks nor were most customers. Not wearing a mask and pretending that the governor has not put up a mask mandate is not being Christian as I practice it. To ignore science and to ignore government is not just irresponsible but unChristian, and it not following the Bible that presumably many working and shopping there profess to read and to follow. I'll be back post-pandemic, but I lost some respect for them and for the religion the represent through their clothing. read more

This store is your typical general store in the fact it has a little bits of everything. They have candy, whoopie pies, homemade soap, things for the kitchen, raw honey, toys etc. Actually too much to list. Very pleasant people working there. While in the area for the first time we actually went and bough things several times. Off the main road in the farmland. Had a nice quaint feel to it. If I were ever in the area again I would be sure to stop in. read more

Run by The Amish, decent prices, not what they used to be of course but then nothing is. A great place to get anything you might need for baking, seasonings in little containers up to large, all kinds of candies, an affordable deli in the back to get sliced meat and cheese, premade submarine sandwich, unbelievably delicious. You could pick yourself up an Amish broom and Amish hat to wear, they also have cookware, cookbooks, sewing supplies, chips. read more

Growing up in the area I probably couldn't appreciate Mifflin County for all that it had to offer. From the country cooking to a simpler way of life, it truly is a great place to grow up and one come back and visit. Speaking of visiting, every time I come home I have to make a trip to Peight's. Its a small country store located literally next to a pasture. I buy everything from bulk candy in clear plastic wrapping to lunch meats wrapped in Saran wrap. Things are fresh and plentiful. The women that work in the store don't make you feel rushed even if there are 6 people in line behind you. It's always a joy to visit and I'm bummed if I happen to try on a Sunday since they are closed. Try it out if you happen to be in the area. If you're not from around here, you'll be amazed. read more

Peight's sells bulk foods, fabrics, kitchenware, and housewares; they also have a small deli section selling meats, cheeses, and candies. But that's all superfluous to me. I come for the packaged bulk section. It's rare that I am vising my central PA home via car, but this time I am, and consequently walked out of Peight's with a huge box of goods. We're talking about two pounds of chocolate-covered pretzels for $5.35; pudding mix for $2.29/lb; chocolate chips for $1.59/lb; bean soup mixtures for $1.55/lb...and so forth. Muffin mixes, dried blueberries and dates, fig bars, chocolate wafers, and on and on. They have nearly an entire aisle of every generic candy under the sun. Cheap, quality, locally unique--what's not to love about this place? A true Mifflin County gem. read more

Reasonably priced dry good. Amish pasta and other cooking goods. This is a cool place to go if you want to see some Amish folks as they are almost always here. This is a go to place for cooking chocolate. They have tourist stuff like hats and shirts, too. But more importantly, they have reasonably priced meats at the deli counter. Try the whoopie pies. Good stuff. It is out of the way from pretty much anywhere. But if you want odd spices, sauces, and other things for cooking, this is a cool place to find them. read more

Great dry goods, and bulk store directly off Front Mountain Road in Belleville. This store offers all types of bulk goods such as flour, sugar, pastas, honey etc. They also have a full deli for all your sandwich needs. The great part about these small PA Dutch Bulk stores are the large qty's of Organic and Non GMO products that are locally sourced. This is a must stop while traveling through Big Valley. read more

Always enjoy supporting Peights when we visit our cabin nearby. They have so many bulk items as well as a good supply of kitchen gadgets, toys, and other varieties of things. Best of all, no mask enforcement! They don't require it, but you may certainly wear one if you so desire. Just glad some stores allow people to decide these things on their own. read more

Excellent source for Amish goods, especially noodles, small candy "sprinkles" for decorating bakery goods. Other mdsc includes hats, unusual (hard to find) cooking tools (teflon covered spatulas, knives, meats, woopie pies. Not as much as the old Peachey's, but Peachey's burned down around April 2010 and it looks like it may be a while until it gets rebuilt. read more

I love Peight's! been going there for nearly 25 years several times a year (I'm 2 1/2 hours away) I buy all my spices there. The sharp cheddar cheese there is the best and at a much cheaper cost than where I live. Bulk candy, pie filling, home made noodles, everything's fantastic! read more

What is NOT to love about Peights. Such fun going through all the fantastic supply of bulk baking items and candy. Great buys on everything. I get my cocoa there - get 3x as much as the can of Hershey for the same price - and it's the DARK cocoa. I've been going there since I met my husband in 1963 and never miss a visit when in the area. We used to live near there and miss the entire valley a lot. Very peaceful - people drive to fast and miss the beauty and peace of Big Valley where Peights is. And Wednesday is a great day - flea market day. Go there, to Peights, to Peachy's for lunch an on up to Reedsville the Valley View Inn to check out the antiques inside and out.
