Food was bland, I substituted noodles for the rice, noodles were cooked, no sauce or nothing on them. Just plain noodles. Got the chicken and mushrooms, no taste to them at all. Definitely will drive further next time and go where I know the food has flavor. read more

I went to Peking with a friend this past week and I ordered the hot and sour soup and hunan beef. The soup was tasty, but I love hot and sour soup so it would be hard to mess that up. The hunan beef was good and the portion size was large, but I felt like something was missing. Also, my stomach was a bit bubbly after finishing my meal. Haha! I would come back but I would like to try some other dishes next time. I also think it would be better to get take out at this restaurant than eat in. It was not the cleanest (my bench had not been cleaned) and the ambiance could have been better. The waitress was nice and helped me choose a dish, so I appreciated the good service. read more

I'm visiting from IL and I hold CoMO restaurants in high regard. I've eaten at so many good places here...... unfortunately this was not one of them. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and crab Rangoon as a lunch special (comes with egg roll and fried rice). Firstly I'll echo some of the previous comments that the food was way too oily. If fairly certain that the cream cheese in the crab Rangoon was off/old, and there was neither real or imitation crab in it. Egg roll was ok, but was soaking in the oil from my kung pao shrimp. There were a lot of people dining in for lunch, so maybe this is a case where some people like it and others don't. read more

Too much oil! Just ordered lunch via phone/pick-up. I got the pricing from their fb page and it's a couple dollars off. I ended up paying over $7 instead of $5ish. It's not a bad value overall, but it's something that needs to be fixed. My biggest issue is the amount of oil on my food. I ordered a twice cooked pork and the oil literally spilled all over the plastic bag. Just plain oil. Not sauce. The food was so saturated in oil that I couldn't finish eating it. I didn't realize this, but when a lot of people drive by Peking Restaurant, they think it is another 'hole in the wall' place for 'crappy' Chinese food. So NOT true. I have been to this place several times. The majority of times I carry out and I have NEVER had anything bad. Lots of inexpensive Chinese places fry all their food so much that you lose any concept of the meat that was originally there. This place, not so much. I think my favorite at this point is the Szechwan beef. I order it every time, now. This place has a really nice atmosphere. Think casual + tablecloths and nice dishes. Very good! read more

The staff here tonight has been horrible. Had to ask for a plate, hot mustard , Napkins, no one asked if I needed anything the whole time I'm here. Brought me my ticket and I just got my main course, and yo ho go boxes. I had to wave my glass in the air to get a drink. Such bad service !! TERRIBLE service. The woman who took our order was incredibly rude. Barely talked to me and my friend and made absolutely no eye contact. The food was okay at best. I got the vegetable fried rice which was alright but I probably wouldn't get it again for the price. But the vegetable spring rolls were not good. My wife and I went in and ordered some noodle soup. The taste of food was decent. Actually, it was pretty good! Unfortunately, the problem was their service, or lack there of. First, my glass of water had a fly in it. Things happen, so I wasn't gonna make a big deal about it, but I wasn't gonna drink that "fly" flavored water neither. So I asked the waitress a simple request of switching my water since there was a fly in it, and it was visible. I don't think she spoke any English because she just poured more water in that fly-flavored glass and gave us few extra napkins. With that, we tried to grub another waitress and explained the situation. This one spoke English so she gave us different glass of water. Thank God, let's just see how the food is. And to our surprise, food itself was actually delightful. However I still had a problem. As I was eating, I bit into piece of metal. I pulled it out of my mouth, looked at it. Looked like tiny fragment of steel wool pad broke off when they were washing dishes. Again, no big deal, things happen. Actually, we couldn't finish our foods. We hardly got any service from our waitress by the way, but she was pretty quick with our check. That was pretty good. As I went to pay the bill, I waited there a while since all the workers were too busy talking among themselves. After I sighed really loud to get their attention, a really ugly hostess gave me an even uglier look than her hideous face, and told her poor husband to take care of cashier. Maybe this was just a bad day where all the bad things were happening all at once. I don't know. But one thing I know for sure. I ain't never going back there again. I still see a face of that ugly woman in my nightmares and wake up in cold sweat...... read more

Try the hot pots or better yet order off the Chinese menu. I recommend the Shui Zhu Yu (sliced fish boiled with hot chili oil accompanied by bok choy). Absolutely the best Chinese food, if not some of the best food period, in Columbia. Any fried food you get will be perfectly crispy and juicy, the chicken dishes are excellent, the Seasonal Vegetable Soup is one of my favorites as well. Atmosphere is small and quiet, if a bit prototypical. Their prices are totally reasonable if not a bit on the cheap side, particularly compared to the competition and considering the quality of food that you get. Having just moved to Columbia, this was one of the first restaurants we tried. The cashew chicken tasted like chicken and gravy- almost exactly like kfc. The chop suey was flavorless. Beef and broccoli was ok, not the worst I've had, but not great either. Service was decent, not stellar. Probably won't ever go back here again. read more
