Only bad meal/experience in Valencia! Terrible service. Asked twice for water...Never got a second glass of wine. Chewy, bad cuttlefish starter and Paella was very average. Not a special experience we hoped as we had in other restaurants with exceptional service and quality food. read more

This place was recommended by our Airbnb host and WOW it was fantastic. We came around 4pm and unfortunately, you need to call ahead to order Paella Valencia. We decided to get the Paella with Duck and mmmmmm, we loved it! They bring the paellas out in a big pan with enough rice for the number of people at your table. I also got a Sangria to sip on. Our waiter recommended the seafood fideua and it was a hitter!! I personally think this was better than paella. The seafood fideua was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. Jeez, writing this review is making me hungry! lol. The tuna was fresh and yummy. I loved the plate that it was served on, there was a lime squeezer on top. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Walked about 7:15 after sightseeing in old town Valencia and it turns out restaurants here can only serve alcohol after 8 pm so I sat at the bar and had a beer and munched on some delicious complimentary olives. At 8 I asked for a table and they only had a few Left, apparently the place was booked and plenty of travelers apparently. This was after all the second Sunday in may, the day of the Virgen de los desamparados parade and I suppose some where here to see this miles and hours long procession. I ordered crunchy artichoke with Romesco as a starter, some crab stuffed peppers, and sonrassada and egg scramble as a main course along with a house from the region. Had the panna cotta for desert, also fantastic. The food was excellent as was the service. If you are anywhere near the main train station Valencia Nord, you must try Pelayo. The only problem was once I finished, it was next to impossible to get a waiters attention to be able to pay and leave.
