My husband and I just recently moved from Southern California, bought a boat here in Florida and are living on the boat full time. It is our home. The boat came with a lovely marine sofa, which, while very pretty, was super uncomfortable. The marina we are in is right around the corner from this little gem of a store. We wandered in one day and was greeted by Latricia. She allowed us sitting rights on every recliner sofa we wanted and ultimately found the one for us. We had to buy a sofa that would come apart in pieces because the door to get it into the boat is only 23 inches wide. Latricia told us that some other folks had bought this particular couch for their boats, so we measured and sure enough, it would fit thru the opening. Daughter and I visited Pelicans looking for Padio furniture. This store sells both new and consignment. Jan was very helpful as well as a pleasant person. We settled on a Tony Bahama Chair as well as some Lane patio items. For the most part when buying consignment be sure to inspect thoroughly, this stuff even though used is expensive. Fortunately our discoveries were fairly minor (cushions for chairs unseamed etc) overall this is a good spot to go for your needs. Just be careful as even the sales person may not know there is a problem. Quality control issues overlooked easy to do on used. read more

I purchased 3 rooms of furniture 11/3/2025. The guest bedroom arrived without incident. The primary bed set arrived a few weeks later and the box spring and mattress set were 39 inches off the floor. We couldn't get in or out of it. Shell (owner) promised a low profile box spring that we still don't have as of today 1/20/26. The kitchen set and 4 chairs arrived in a couple weeks of the 11/3 purchase date. After several texts on my part I picked up the bench to the table today. Most texts were not responded to by Shell. Her voice mail was full in November and January. I didn't reach out in December. She failed to respond to any of my husband's texts and didn't answer any of his calls. I drove 50 minutes there and back to get my bench. We have purchased well over 15,000 worth of furniture from them. We won't be doing that again. Additionally she promised a $50 got certificate mid November. Then never came to fruition. And based on what we spent it was an insult. The lack of communication and very poor service was then worst I have experienced. Not to mention their delivery fee was $175. I have bought a lanai set, a living room set and a mattress from 3 different companies and none were over $125 delivery fee and the Lanai set was no delivery. I'm not sure why she is so expensive. They did it even set up the furniture while the other 3 companies did. read more

Pros: large supply of used furniture. Bedroom, dining, living room etc. cons: I have been browsing here for years and quite frankly I believe this place is overpriced!! They may have some items " new" but most are used and overpriced. In some instances, I know where you can purchase it new for LESS! I feel like they must appeal to people who need furniture Quick!! There are several places in the area that have better prices NEW and can deliver same or next day! Try Joes right next to Detweiler's in Venice. Furniture Warehouse several locations in area, quick delivery and quality pretty good! For coastal more upscale but next day delivery Pomaro Furniture. Also Kanes Furniture for quality and quick delivery. As for this place, nothing special and overpriced. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Awful experience due to repeated misrepresentations and total non existent customer care/service. I purchased a patio set based on a facebook ad that stated expressly that the table accommodated an umbrella. I ALSO confirmed this fact directly with the manager, Shell, before purchasing the set (which was expensive). She assured me that the table could be used with an umbrella. When the table was delivered, the base clearly had been replaced and was not even attached to the table. The base was solid and had no hole for an umbrella. I called the store numerous times to try and address the issue. I was given a total run around and nobody returned my calls. I finally had no choice but to hire a handyman to correct the problem. The handyman confirmed that the base had been replaced and was a solid base that was never meant to accommodate an umbrella. The handyman was able to use the base from my old table to accomplish a switch and a fix. When I finally heard from the manager, Shell, she told me that she had a family emergency that prevented her from returning my calls for several weeks (being a kind and understanding person, I chose to believe her). She offered to pick up the table and try and fix it. I explained that I had to get a handyman to fix the table and that it actually wasn't fixable without the use of my own base. She promised to arrange for a partial refund due to efforts and my expenditures to fix the table. She promised to text me her personal cell so that the refund could be accomplished. I again chose to believe and trust her (as I don't like to think of anyone trying to intentionally deceive me). I never received the promised text and had to once again chase after her by leaving unanswered messages at the store. After again leaving several messages that were not returned, I finally had the extreme displeasure of speaking directly with the owner. He was HOSTILE toward me and basically acted like I had done something wrong which was very STRANGE under the circumstances!!! The sole refund I was offered by the owner was a mere $200 credit to spend at his store. Honestly, I would never shop there again after how I was treated so the credit would be worthless to me. I asked for and I would have accepted the partial refund I was promised and even would have accepted a meager $200 refund (despite the fact that I spent far more repairing the table). I have purchased many items from consignment stores over the years and I have NEVER experienced such awful treatment or a blatant repeated misrepresentation of an item. Clearly, this store's owner and manager do not care about customer service and had absolutely no intent to issue the promised partial refund. The owner even stated that he wasn't responsible b/c it was a consignment item. Apparently, there is no concern about false and misleading ads/statements or even delivering a broken table detached from the solid base with clearly no hole for an umbrella.... Buyer beware!!! I have known the owners and several other workers since 2014 when I arrived to my Florida home. Everyone is always helpful and the collection of new and tenderly used items are always accepted with quality in mind. I've sent so many people there and no complaints are ever heard. I hope everyone will at least take the time to walk thru, sit and schmooze for a bit and if you do make a purchase you will love it forever. They came to my home at venetian golf and river club and told me they would like to buy all my furniture as I was moving instead of just doing consignment. before they left Bob told me it would be $1500 - $1700 to pick it up. That was my first clue that they were total psychos !!!! There are great movers that would do my relatively small job for $300. They would text every few days and say they would call back tomorrow but never did. I had already found a very reliable person to deal with that actually picked it up for free because it was such high end furniture. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CON ARTISTS!!!!! read more

Recently we purchased a chair and our salesperson was Latricia. The chair needed to be ordered and we made her aware that we need it by a specific date. We were told it would only take 6 weeks if the fabric was in stock, which she did confirm with the company that it was. We called the store after 6 weeks and spoke to Latricia to find out the status of our chair. She was very curt and said she would call the company and would call me back, but it could take 12 weeks. She did not call back as promised so my husband and I stopped by the store. We again spoke to Latricia and reminded her that we were told 6 weeks and now being told 12 weeks. She became very angry, denying what she originally said and was extremely rude and unprofessional. We told her we would have purchased it from another store if we were told it could be 12 weeks. She then said we should have bought it from that store. As we were walking out of the store she yelled out to us " good luck getting your chair". I was drove past this place every day while staying in the area over the Christmas holiday and I finally stopped in one day. I am a huge fan of all things flamingo, so the store's Name alone was enough to attract me. It's a new furniture and home decor store and they have a ton of tropical decor which is my favorite! It took all my willpower not to leave with several new metal wall hanging a but I just don't have anywhere to put them in my house. They had a huge collection of fabrics to choose from for window treatments and upholstery. I wish I would have known about this place when we were looking for the material for our window treatments. I was going to consign with them. Sent them pixs and told them exactly what I had. Brought everything over there.....got it all unloaded only to have them turn down every item I had ! They didn't want my table and chairs for example because it only had 2 chairs. My email specifically said it only had 2 chairs. Brought a TV and cabinet as seen in the pixs I sent. Never told me that they don't take electronics until I got it there. (email indicated I'd be bringing both items) Had I known ahead of time, I would not have brought the TV along also. So if you are thinking of consigning with them, be sure to clarify ahead of time what they'll take and not take. read more

I bought a couch that was "supposedly" leather now mind you ticket price was 1,200 dollars!!! It's VINYL!!!! I am absolutely so disturbed by this after hearing that this was "leather" when it's actually a piece of shit couch! Real leather is durable, real leather soaks water droplets in. Real leather does a lot of things this awful awful couch does not! NOT TO MENTION IT IS PEELING AFTER 1 week!!!! That's it!!! I paid 946.00 plus 65 for delivery I could have gotten a VERY VERY VERY VERY NICE COUCH FROM ELSEWHERE! And I INTEND TO! DO NOT BUT THIEIR USED FURNITURE ITS CRAP, if they say it's real leather Chances are they don't even know! Also she said it was from a certain store brand new there's no marks on it I can find! My friend ordered a better fake pleather couch ON AMAZON FOR 200 dollars!!! It's INSANE!!!! I would hope that a business such as this would replace the couch or give me the 1000 dollars back so I can get something that is actually durable AND REAL NOT THIS PIECE OF CRAP! I'm so upset over this! It awful I loved the couch but I would NEVER HAVE BOUGHT IT HAD I KNOWN IT WAS SOME CHEAP VINYL SHIT! If I had seen the previous reviews, I probably wouldn't have stopped by, but we were out with friends on a rainy day looking for something to do, so we ended up there. We did visit the House of Lords also, and my comparison would be that each one appeals to a different clientele. Their style is reflected in their names. The Pelican Cottage has a lot of beachy type stuff, while the other place offers more grandiose furnishings. As a snowbird trying to furnish a new "winter nest" the Pelican Cottage was right up my alley. They even offered to store things for us until we needed them, since our home is not ready yet. I have visited many consignment stores on the hunt for furniture, and found their prices comparable to other places. They also have new items that can be ordered, as well as the one of a kind finds that appeal to me. The staff was helpful, and willing to bargain a little. I will be going back! read more
