We moved to Tualatin in March 2025 from the coast and were so excited to be in an area where there are so many restaurants to choose from. One favorite is Mexican food and we started checking them out one by one, and after we'd tried maybe 4 or 5 we decided that we like Pelines the best. It's comfortable and charming in it ambiance and the food is delicious. The service is wonderful and reliable . . . we go there a few times a month now. They even have a full bar and their cocktails are right up there with the best. It's a family restaurant and they obviously take great pride in their product! read more

My fiance and I decided to try this for an early dinner during happy hour and it was amazing! They refilled our chips and salsa anything we were starting to get low. My fiance had a margarita and I had a virgin pina colada, they were really good and made quickly. He had enchiladas and I had the camarones a la diabla (it comes either with medium or spicy heat and I got spicy) and they both were amazing! If you don't like spicy, get the medium spice with the camarones. We definitely will be going back there! read more

Ordered 2 fajita dinners with extra tortillas. The extra tortillas were not included in the order. The shrimp fajitas were bland and the steak fajitas were very beefy tasting. Both could have used seasoning. The salsa was not very flavorful; it had a strong tomato taste vs onion/cilantro/pepper. I was turned off by all the cilantro stems in it. Great local Mexican restaurant Tried the Super nacho with beef.m for lunch and this was more then enough for lunch and great size for dinner or sharing. Extensive menu and our food was excellent, fresh and delicious - best carnitas I have ever had. Great salsa and queso dip crammed with jalepeños. The chef makes his own tequila and there's many house-made specials like pozole and fresh guacamole they serve generously. The wait staff were smiley and attentive to details, obviously quite proud of the menu and food offerings. We will be coming back again soon! read more

This is one of the occasions where I had read the Yelp reviews in detail. We were driving back from a weekend getaway and starving. Decided Mexican sounded good. This place was off the highway. Parking available upfront and got seated right away. It went downhill from there. The chips were beyond stale. We got the guacamole which came out in like 1 minute, so we knew wasn't made fresh to order. One taste and I spit it out. It was so bitter, like it was made earlier and left in a large container. We decided it wasn't worth the chance of trying more on the menu and left. read more

You will immediately notice upon entering the festive Mexican-themed decor with vibrant, colorfully painted booths and tables. Brickwork and paintings to remind you of Mexico. Friendly, welcoming staff. Large menu - both with food and drink. All your typical foods - enchiladas, tacos, salads, chile relleno, burritos, etc. Kids menu had both Mexican and American options (e.g., chicken nuggets and hamburger). Drinks went beyond margaritas with lots of options. I would say this place is a little pricier than I would expect, but recognize the food industry costs have gone up. And portions are quite large. Most dishes come with refried beans and rice. But still, about $10 for guacamole is a bit much for me. Margarita was $11-14. Complementary chips and spicy salsa, but they do note that if everyone doesn't order, there may be a charge. Staff were friendly and speak both Spanish and English. Bathrooms were clean. Just like in California. I had some very nice tacos here and it was the best decision I made to come here. Everyone who works here is very happy and sweet. They really try their best to make you feel at home. I get great food at very fair prices here. It really lives up to its name. It's not very far from where I work and stay in. All I have to do is drive up and eat. If you are looking for a quick grab and eat Mexican joint, this cute little joint does the trick. The rice here is really great. For people who are fans of chips and salsa, there is an endless possibility of sauces to choose from. It actually satisficed my hunger as well. Festive flair every time! Pretty good food. The menu is quite large and it makes it hard for me to decide what I want pretty much every single time. We always get the quacomole to go with our chips and salsa. It is a huge heaping of fresh mixed guacamole and it is amazingly delicious. So Good! They season the corn tortilla and stuff it with finely diced carne asada, chopped onions, and cilantro and comes with the best salsa I've had in the Portland area. Truly packed with delicious Mexican seasoning but still let's the carne flavor come through. Amazing. If you like hot and spicy smothered burritos, try the pork Chile verde "Burrito Amigo" -- who does spicy green any more? Can't find it anywhere but here! For the hottest spice on the menu, try the "Spicy chicken burrito" and you will be sweating and tearing up after the first delicious bite. Soooo good. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant, period. The service is really friendly, the food is always fresh & delicious, and the interior is clean and cheerfully decorated. My favorite item on the menu is Pollo a la Crema, it has chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce, it is amazing. Last night I had one of the specials Enchiladas a la Crema which was the cream sauce over enchiladas, so good. Their guacamole is also delicious. Second time ordering delivery. The food IS good, however, both times the orders have been wrong. Couple of weeks ago we received the order without chips or salsa, plus didn't get one dinner. Wasn't worth complaining as there was more than enough for me to serve up a little off each plate. Tonight though, asked for extra beans and no rice. Just double checked my order and yes, that's what I put, we got no beans and two serving of rice on that order. Plus one dish was suppose to come with three flour tortillas and received three. My wife and I have frequented all the Mexican restaurants in town, except for La Isla Bonita. We decided to try on a whim tonight and we are so glad we did. Ambience was bright and cheerful, the servers were very friendly and attentive (but no overly so), and the food was delicious. The complementary chips and salsa were nice and fresh, and we got the guacamole as well. It was really tasty and fresh.. highly recommend. Menu has a wide selection of all the usuals. Offerings were reasonably priced, especially the combination plates. I got two big enchiladas, a pork tamale, and rice and beans, and my wife got the chicken crema. Portions were huge. I only got a corona with salt and lime, but the mixed drinks coming out of the bar looked delicious and large. Next time! We spoke to the owner at the end and he said he just took over a few months ago. So, ignore the negative reviews from awhile back and give this place a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

Easy access off the 5 fwy as we're traveling. We were seated quickly, offered drinks while we looked at the menu. From there we were given chips & salsa. I just couldn't hardly make up my mind with so many choices! Hubby choice chicken fajitas & I ordered a tamale. The food came out quickly and hot. I'm on a hunt for best Molcajete in area.. Found it tonight. Our server, Martiux, was very personable and attentive. Always showed up just as we might have a need. Decor is very theme correct, lots of color. Can set up for larger parties. Our booth was comfy, didn't have to stretch to reach table. Clean rest rooms. Now to the Molcajete. Great flavor, nice balance of veggies, peppers, chicken, carne asada, and camerones..shrimp. served piping hot in the lava bowl, with big side plate of rice/beans/sour cream/ salsa and freshly made Pico de Gallo. Chose corn tortillas, came in warm-mitt. Very nice touch was another separate side plate with steak knife, and tweezers to "construct" dinner. Just all well thought out, and executed. Visited for the first time for a weekend dinner with two toddlers. We were sat right away and the service and friendly staff started our experience off right from walking in the door to when we left. We enjoyed the mango margarita, enchiladas, pork verde and kids meals. The salsa had this delicious smokiness and guacamole was kid approved too. Prices were very affordable and our food was in prime dinner hour and brought to our colorful booth in no time. This is not near my neighborhood but will be worth the drive again for a special and delicious night out with cocktails and churros to go next time! read more

I've never written a review of a restaurant before, on Yelp or elsewhere, but I left here feeling I had to leave one because it was/is ~fantastic~. First of all, and perhaps most notably, the staff is so kind and attentive. Beyond that, the menu is extensive, service is *extremely* quick, the food is hot and delicious, and the portions are huge. Great staff and a very nice restaurant. Love the colors on the walls and tables - feels like a visit to Mexico. Found the salsa to be a bit spicy for me (I'm a wimp), the guac was good, the chilie reanno was fair, the beans were a bit dry and the rice was fluffy (good). Would I visit again? Yes. Excellent Mexican food is a challenge to find in Portlandia. So a "good" 4-star is far better than my experience a most other places. read more

This place is great. The staff here are so friendly and always seem appreciative of your business. Very convenient location, near the freeway and next to an ice cream place where you can grad dessert. The food is delicious. Terrible food and service. I ordered the infamous Molcajete and what I got was a pathetic excuse for $30. When I called to ask talk about my order they had NO empathy or customer service. I literally felt like I had to pull out any kind of customer service from them when I called, barely got any, and the woman had an attitude the entire time.There was no offer to help, replace, or anything. Deciding to at least eat the rice and beans I was very thrown off by the taste. It's hard to get Mexican rice perfect but they went the complete opposite way. The beans were pale and runny.
