I had hard gel on my nails and apparently the nail technician who was new had no idea what that is. She proceeded to SCRAPE the gel off of my nails instead of using the proper technique and then repainted them horribly. My nails are completely damaged. Also one of the other salon workers/owners continuously yelled at the one doing my nails so obviously knew they weren't being done correctly. While I felt bad for the new girl, she should have been trained properly on the latest techniques and proper removal techniques. read more

I got a pedicure at Pella Nails today and it was the WORST pedicure I have ever had. I get a pedicure every two weeks and went to Pella because my nail salon was full today. I wanted a basic/ the cheapest pedicure, just adding gel polish and that's all I wanted. It was $65!!! Which I thought was insane. And it took almost 2 hours! The lady also kept being so pushy and was trying to add things onto the service that I did not want. And the lady kept asking me for tip and was being extremely pushy- even after I was completely dissatisfied with my service. Truly an awful experience. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

The top coat didn't fully cure on some, so they are matte, and dusty. This is an ok nail salon. Nothing special as far as service or prices go. I have had many different people give me pedicures here over the years and there aren't any who stand out as one I would ask for again. The last time I had a pedicure the guy smudged it when putting on my flip flops and tried to blame me for it. He was not happy to have to redo the polish and he only put a touch up over the smudge so it looked horrible. I should have learned my lesson from that experience but clearly I am a glutton for punishment. Or just lazy because this place is close to home. . I had acrylic nails put on and several of them were glued on really crooked. When I pointed it out I was told my fingers are just crooked and they can't do anything about that. I joined a bridal party and had a pedicure done 2 days ago and paid over $60 for the service. (I had a gel French spa pedicure) I have NEVER had any problems with gel polish chipping and was shocked to take my socks off and see this chip. Such a waste of money. Nothing but love for my fellow Yelpers for leading me to Pella. Nail salons are one area where I have little to no experience. I hopped on the Yelps fast to find an affordable pedi and Pella was tops. My first recommendation is to make an appointment. We went in on a late Saturday afternoon and the place was-a-bumpin'. There were walk-ins, but appointments took precedent (sorry walk-ins! I felt horrible!) and they learned to make an appointment. It's located in the strip mall between Smith's and Shopko on the north side of 9400 S. It's not super fancy, but it gets the job done. You're packed in there pretty good, especially in the big pedicure massage chairs in the back. At just $22 for a spa pedi you know they're dealing with quantity over quality. I will, however, say that the quality was just fine. This is a workin' man's salon. If you want to be whisked away and pampered in bliss, keep looking. But if you want to get your nails done quickly and don't care about the frilly things, then Pella is your new nail salon. read more

I came here today for a pedi with my mom on the recomendation from her friend. We could not have been happier! The spa pedi was offered at $22/ person. I've seen that price for just basic pedis elsewhere. When we arrived there was about a 5 minute wait. They had plenty of magazines and televisions on, but we spent our wait time selecting our polish colors. When it was our turn we were taken to our massage chairs--that's right--massage chairs. I wasn't expecting to get a back massage for the duration of my pedi, but that's what we got! The remote let us select lower back or shoulders and neck, gentle rub or harder knocking. It was divine! They also brought us bottled water which was a nice touch. As for the pedis themselves, I really don't know all that they did. It seemed like they had 20 different instruments and multitudes of lotions and potions and oils and sprays. The parts that stand out were the hot water bath, the hot stones the lady used to massage up and down my calves, the oil massage, and the way my feet looked and felt afterward. Soft and beautiful! Not once was I clipped or scrubbed in an uncomfortable way. A few things to note: Pella Nails is an unassuming shop in a strip mall. If you're looking for day-spa pedi, you need to go elsewhere and you will pay more. But this place was clean and light and nicely decorated. Also, many of the employees don't speak great English, so know that going in. There is free wi-fi, just ask for the password. I will be back! read more

Usually my mom comes with me and she gets whoever is working and had never had a bad experience. They take there time to make sure you are happy with your service . I've been going here for a couple years now because it's near me and I had good experiences at first but now It sucks. One time the guy filed my nail crooked and i asked him nicely to fix it and he threw the file at me and made me file my nail. The last time i was there, the guy doing my nails was in a hurry and he made my acrylics soo thin and some parts of my nail didn't have acrylic so in 2 days, 5 of my nails broke!! The water was so hot I suggested they add some carrots and potatoes so we could have some stew. They ladies there were very nice and very fast. Talk about bang for your buck! Having lived in Los Angeles, I got used to $10-15 pedicures AND having very low expectations for the service. I just knew that I would have cute toes in the end. I expected nothing from the foot "massage" and I knew not to think there was any sincerity in the small talk I was getting from my pedicurist. I just knew I'd be in and out in 15-minutes and I'd have a cheap pedicure to flaunt around in my flip-flops. Pella Nails was a completely pleasant surprise! I waited for less than 10-minutes and the guy doing my nails was super sweet. They gave me a small bottle of water, a few magazines to choose from and the best full service pedicure for the price I have ever received! I sat in the semi-enjoyable massage chairs (I believe this is a matter of personal preference), he gave me a nice foot and leg massage complete with salt scrub and hot oil rocks rub. I left feeling relaxed and with great toes without breaking the bank! Bottom line: totally worth the wait as I assume weekends can be busy and great service for the price! read more

Short version; they do a pretty decent job, but seem to either ignore what I say or simply don't understand enough English. Longer; I have been here several times and honestly it's the best for pedicures, however I've never liked how my nails look when I get those done. Typically they are crookedly put on acrylics and they don't seem to care to pay attention to detail. The employees always seem to be gossiping, though you never know who they're talking about. I often feel like they don't even try to understand what I'm saying. They are often very rough with cuticles and buffing, which I don't appreciate and seem to talk more to their coworkers (in Korean maybe?) about how much of a sissy I must be. If I could give this store zero stars I would. I have never had a more traumatizing experience in my life. I am seriously concerned they have somebody working in a salon who clearly has no idea what she is doing, I wouldn't be surprised if she hadn't even been through any sort of education to do these sort of things. You can clearly see in the pic, where my toenails should be.. I didn't even have her finish the pedicure because my toes were cut so short it was painful anytime she touched my feet. She couldn't understand one word of English when I told her "too short" Every time I said a word she'd ask, "more short?" HOLY HELL LADY, what is left to even paint!!? Walking in I see all these business awards on the wall. The salon was full so I was thinking I was going to have a good if not great experience there. Wrong! The lady at the door was rude, sighing as she said to pick out a polish. I know I do not have the prettiest feet in the world and I am already embarrassed by them. The man that started to work on me was looking around and I assume trying to find someone to take over for him. He looked panicked is all I can say. They tried to fix somehow, but the attitude has become aggressive. The young man who performed the manicure and the pedicure asked the woman who gave me the Tablet to sign, if I left any tips. Been going here every summer for 10 years. Nail technicians definitely need more practice. My nail lengths are inconsistent and the thickness of the nex gen powder on my fingers is different. He made my nails very short w tips but didn't charge me for tips at least. Very busy when I was there and had my feet soaking for 15-20 minutes till they helped but the guy did an amazing job at my foot massage. Just definitely need more practice with the powder for nails and to at least check the nails before putting on the top coat because the customer shouldn't have to tell you when it's obviously visibly slanted. All in all was cheap and good massage, just wish my finger nails were even and consistent, i'm the type to want things to look perfect. read more

I used to love this place. It was my go to for a little mini retreat but my last 2 times. I felt rushed and they are cutting corners with massage and layers of color. I was in and out in 30 minutes last time and it use to be 50 minutes at least. I realize they try to accommodate all their customers but I feel like they're cutting corners on time, quality and that personal touch that used to set them apart.
