Stayed by the waterfront at the Pendry for one night. I booked the reservation through the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, and received some awesome perks. The hotel was very swanky, and my stay at the Pendry was a great experience!

Pendry at Washington DC was so lovely. We had such a relaxing and wonderful stay. The moment you walk in the staff is so friendly and kind. They offered my children stuff animals and even a drink. They made sure we got late check out and a room with a view of the pool and water. I love that it is a convenient location. We were right in front of our dinner location and we were able to walk around at night after dinner. The pool service was amazing. They made sure they took care of us the whole time we were there. All their drinks were delicious too. We got breakfast with our stay and it was a lovely breakfast with a nice view. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for one at the wharf.

**BOOZY TEA REVIEW** We really enjoyed the Saturday tea at Bar Pendry! It's pricey but it's less than a lot of other high teas in the area actually. The boozy tea infusions were delicious and we enjoyed getting to try three types. The scone was fluffy and marvelous. Among the savory bites and desserts, we had varying opinions on which were best, but none was BAD. They change up the menu seasonally so I would love to go back and try a different arrangement in the future.

*This review is for Bar Pendry* Looking for afternoon tea in the DMV look no further than the boozy tea at Bar Pendry, located inside of the Pendry hotel at the Wharf. Once again, thank you Instagram for introducing me to another fun thing to do in the city! My friend and I made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon and were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Hotel staff directed us to Bar Pendry and once seated the menus even had a personalized welcome message! We were given 3 different types of tea (a mix of hot and cold) and a mixture of savory and sweet treats. Of course some were better than others but it's nice have a large sampling to pair with your tea. Plus, if you want to add additional cocktails on beyond your tea you have that option - which other tables did partake in! Overall service was great, ambiance was great, and the tea was delicious! It's not the cheapest afternoon activity but it's a nice change of pace for meeting up with a friend from the typical restaurant or bar. Plus, it's located at the wharf and there are plenty of additional options for fun before or after the tea sitting. Although I may not come back for tea in the immediate future, I would definitely come back for the bar itself. I can see why it's so highly rated!

This review is for Bar Pendry - not the hotel. Boozy afternoon tea is such a whimsy way to do brunch with the girls! We were fortunate enough to score the back room seating, which was intimate and allowed for a bit more privacy. The service was good, but they really didn't come around between tea offerings, which would have been nice since they said we could have a refill. If you don't like one of the three teas offered you can sub it out with another. The bites were delish. I loved the chicken liver moose pate and all of the desserts.

I loved my visit here! I booked a stay for a wedding for my brother and this was the best location and hotel. I was able to experience a luxury staycation that included all the small details! The view was beautiful in the day and nighttime. The room was huge and was made to feel comfortable. I was made to feel like I was the only guest! Amazing, I definitely want to have another stay.

Let me start off by saying the 4 stars is only because the parking at the Wharf too dang on high. I could have valet parked but after tip the price whould have been the same. I should have valeted, I love front door service. Next time! I ventured to the Pendry for an earlier afternoon Boozy Tea. I was very excited since it took months to get reservations. The experience did not disappoint. We were on the first seating at 12 noon right when the Bar Pendry opens. The host/bartender/ server greats you at the bar and escorts you to your already set table. They briefly go over the menu and your three tier sweet and savoy arrangement comes out. Each tier has a tea cocktail with a different spirit that pairs perfectly with it. I enjoyed everything and boxed up my portion of the sweets because I just couldn't eat anymore. The bar is beautiful with a Great Gatsby appeal. A lot of velvet and dark colors with gold trim everywhere. We stayed after tea to enjoy a selection from the bar menu. I love when the drinks come in the round martini glasses, it makes you feel extra fancy and delicate. Service was amazing. The staff was super friendly and readily available. They wanted to make sure you enjoy your time there. I enjoyed myself. Pop in for a fancy sip or make plans to don a fancy hat and sip on some tea. Either way you will not be disappointed.

This is a fantastic alternative to traditional afternoon tea! This experience is located at Bar Pendry DC within the Pendry Hotel. And It comes with 3 separate tea cocktail concoctions that correspond with each tier of the crumpet spread. And the food was tasty and delicately prepared with very fine attention to details. The service is attentive and elegant. And you have the option to order food (small bites) and drinks from the bar menu. The hotel and the bar is stylish and sexy..with velvet curtains, sleek lines, and low lighting. This is a fantastic experience for an elevated but very modern tea outing...and I highly recommend. pro tip: parking is a non issue!! there's a garage attached to the hotel and valet parking is $35 (for up to 3 hours). Fyi: this tea is pricey..and gratuity and tax are included in the price. But its worth a try!!

Came for boozy afternoon tea and we really loved our experience! I've been wanting to go to moonraker, and after our time at tea we will definitely be back! There's three courses for the tea. First tea is paired with the scones, which were delicious! The maple scone was unique and the original was perfect with the cream. The second tea was for your finger sandwiches. All really yummy, but loved the avocado toast the most. Had a nice kick to it! Third tea was for the desserts. Desserts were woah, amazing. Decadent and delicious. The yuzu strawberry tart was my favorite. Couldn't finish them all and wish I were able to take them home. How do I order them just because? Seriously so good! The teas were very nice, two cold ones and a warm one. First two were my favorite. I will say that the seats can be a bit uncomfortable. No backs which can be tough to sit on for 2 hours. And then because no backs, no place to put our jackets. We laid our jackets on the floor, not really classy for the Pendry Definitely something cute and fun to do with the girlies!

Such a beautiful property! I love pretty, beautifully adorned hotels, and Pendry fits the bill! Both valet and check-in were smooth. When you check-in, you receive a "code word" to receive a complimentary cocktail at the connected bar. I didn't care for the cocktail, so the bartender was accommodating and gave me a shot of Casamigos Reposado (already winning!). My room was spacious. I loved the black doors and the gold hardware. The mini-bar was fully stocked with premium spirits and the refrigerator had sparkling and still water. My room also had a nice view of the pool. Later in the evening, I was a bit hungry. The room service staff accommodated my want for sushi from the hotel's roofrop restaurant, Moonraker. I really appreciated that they allowed me to order sushi from Moonraker even though the menu was not a part of the in-room dining menu. Kudos! All-in-all, I thoroughly enjoyed my staycation at the Pendry. I will definitely visit again!

Boozy afternoon tea option "what's the tea"

Review for boozy Saturday tea: 1. The atmosphere of the bar and tea area is very swank. Velvet couches. Curtains. Nice lighting. Lush colors. Groups had enough space to not feel on top of each other. 2. The food choices are delicious. 3 courses of small bites (as in a singular bite size piece) on a tiered tray. paired well with the drink choices. Particularly enjoyed then smoked salmon & the pumpkin whoppie pie. You won't get full. But it's a nice snack. Think like an appetizer. Might want to eat a real meal beforehand. Idk if they offer a nut-free or allergen friendly menu but that might be something to keep in mind because each tier of options had something with nuts. 3. Service was AMAZING. Jordan was knowledgeable, attentive, and very kind in every interaction. She went above what we expected. I've been to the bar for regular service a few times and I can say it consistently has some of the best service in that area. 4. The "teas" are cocktails served in pretty tea glasses. My favorite was the "what's the tea". Matcha was hit or miss with our group. Think you need to be a matcha fan for enjoy it. Suggestion - maybe add real teas as options / mocktails - have a "nut free" menu option. This might already exist but if it doesn't I wanted to make the suggestion.

Stop in this hotel bar for drinks while we waited for dinner was an absolute treat. The bartenders were excellent with great service and energy. They definitely worked well together. The bar was packed but, we were able to find two seats together. We were celebrating our anniversary and the bartender advised me on the best drink for the aesthetic along with the best picture perfect accent. They had bar nuts available to munch on with a small plate meal options. I will definitely be back again soon and hopefully I will be able to enjoy a night stay.

The vibes are opulent- the Peacock Alley is located in the grand lobby, which is massive and airy with a glass ceiling overhead to let in tons of natural light. A harpist also set the mood beautifully, but they didn't stay for very long- they maybe stayed about 30 minutes past our 3:30pm tea appointment. Tea services are offered at 12:00 noon and 3:30pm. The central cherry blossom tree is the showstopper, and the main reason I chose the Waldorf for our afternoon tea. I had heard that there are several cherry blossom-themed afternoon teas all over DC that may have better food options, but this was the only one with decor this grand. My main concern was with our seating. I had called ahead of time to ask if they could accommodate my group to have a close seating location close to the cherry blossom tree due to our special occasion. The staff assured me during two separate calls that they would be able to accommodate our request, but upon getting seated, we were seated in the far corner by the bar. It is true that there is a fair view of the cherry blossom tree everywhere in the lobby, but I was disappointed at our far vantage point given the fact that I had called to confirm a close spot to the cherry blossom tree twice in advance. This is because I wanted to originally schedule the premium experience (premium seating, champagne, and fine china), but it was not available to groups larger than 4 and we were a group of 6. The service was otherwise perfectly fine and the portions of food were generous and tasty. We were all definitely full after finishing our savory bites. Our collective favorites were the chicken cherryaki and crab beignet bites, but we all appreciated the diverse offerings. We also had a friend with a peanut allergy dining with us, and they accommodated her easily by separating her pastries onto a separate tiered tray. It looks like the only item with a possible nut allergen was the crab beignet (her version had tofu). Despite the mild issues with seating, the experience was gorgeous. As a cherry blossom lover, I can see myself doing this every time I'm back in town. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Service: 4/5 - Food: 4/5

The room was clean and up to par for its grade. However the experience at the lounges for dinner and breakfast leaves something to desire. Let's start with the dinner experience. We ordered a number of dishes - a lamb rack and wings, a goat cheesecake and 2 drinks for a party of 2. The food was good but nothing to write home about. I removed a star because of the service. Our main waitress was ok but was way too stretched. What really tipped the scale was when we requested a steak knife, the waiter went to the drawer, picked up a knife then ran his bare fingers along the sides. Alternatively, he could've taken a napkin to do so, minding the hygiene issue of his bare hands. The redeeming factor was the response of the manager - he responded attentively and professionally and that was appreciated. The second experience at the lounge was a breakfast for 4. The service was slow and chaotic. They preferred buffet but we opted for à la carte. In fairness, we were given warning that it might take a little bit of time but we chose it as we were not in a hurry. However the wait time to be seated was super long. They didn't open the marina room for the amount of guests and the lobby was overflowing with both people waiting to be seated and those waiting for check in/check out service. They ended up having to extend breakfast time in order to accommodate the guests. May need to visit staffing and operating hours.

That jetted tub was supposed to earn its keep. The room: genuinely beautiful. The technology: aggressively dated. The vibe: a 90s time capsule, complete with missing doorknobs. There was effort here, but it felt like the hotel was holding its breath, afraid any real investment might trigger the next recession. What they got right: The bellhops were fantastic. Warm, personable, fun. Truly the highlight. Most staff we interacted with were polite and willing to help, which made the gaps elsewhere even more confusing. What they got wrong (beyond the dated room and tech): For a hotel that loudly advertises luxury service, the customer experience fell flat. Outside of the arrival bowl of fruit, nothing felt elevated. Night two, we ordered pizza and planned a cozy Home Alone movie night. The technology made streaming impossible. Fine, cable it is. We called the concierge and asked for two plates. Just two. The answer was a flat no. We were told to walk down to the lobby restaurant and see if they might have plates "to spare." I'm sorry, what? The next morning, room service arrived... with someone else's order. It was corrected, but for a luxury hotel, that kind of miss is surprising. Housekeeping came through, but only halfway. The coffee and minibar were never restocked. In a suite. At a luxury hotel. This is table stakes. At 9:30 PM we stopped by the lobby circle bar. It was immediately clear the bartenders did not want to be there. I get it, service work is hard. Still, opening our interaction by warning us about last call at 11 set a strange tone. By 10:00, one bartender disappeared for 45 minutes. No refills. No check-in. No bill. Breaks are important. Coverage is also important, especially when you're selling a premium experience. Beyond the bellhops, much of the staff felt irritated to be present. Front desk to concierge, the energy was less "historic luxury hotel" and more "counting down the minutes." The hotel was also clearly prioritizing weekend tea and brunch revenue, to the point that the historic lobby was clogged with extra tables and largely unusable for actual hotel guests. Bottom line: this was not a luxury experience, and I would not recommend it. I'm only posting this publicly because I reached out directly to hotel management and never received a response. At that point, a review feels necessary.
