I had a meeting with one of the proprietors of McCarthy's and thought I would share it here…read more One of the owners noticed me, he told me he recognised me from my profile picture, and stopped me the other day up town to let me know personally he wanted me to give his shop another try and he would do whatever he could to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I thought this was brilliant and a good example of customer service that you don't see that often these days. I told him since he was nice enough to make the offer I would of course give his shop another shot, as soon as my son grows out of the shoes he is currently wearing. It's always good to see a business taking the time to address feedback from the community. That alone is worth another two stars, and there may be more on the way after my next visit! It was the attitude that disappointed me more. They wouldn't give a refund only a replacement and I was told that I would have to go away and wait for it to be re stitched or get a credit note. It seems they are all smiles & banter in this place until something goes wrong with one of their stock and then the mood changes very quickly, Its like ...how dare you find anything wrong with something we sell here. Consequently, I would never set foot there again. AVOID
