We chose the little "Euphrasie" cottage in the back by the canal and enjoyed a roaring fireplace and cute little private patio right on the water. Totally immersive Bruges experience and just a few minutes walk to what you want to see. That cottage has sturdy but fairly steep steps inside, so maybe choose a standard room if that is an issue for you. This place has my highest recommendation.

They welcome people into the little house at the bottom of the garden, where you can sit in front of your own log fire and look at the ducks and swans on the canal. The decor is traditional and modern but also very atmospheric, and there is no clutter. You can make tea and coffee and also have a fridge. Our room had the claw foot tub in the brick basement, and a door you could open to sit by the canal. We didn't do this in November as it was damp, but we did sit in the bath and let the cool afternoon air come into the bathroom. via the open door. Breakfast can be taken in your room or the kitchen of their home, which is a modern construction, but built in an old style....and style is what you get! We slept late one morning and breakfast was still served after 11.00! The king bed and duvet got a 10/10. Seppe the small hound deserves a special mention as he is a wonderful meeter greeter, whose tummy can never be rubbed too much! Our only concern as has been mentioned before, is that every word can heard in the bedroom from not only the bathroom next door but also the opposite bedroom. On the first night the Ozzie couple decided to have a little carnal romp at 12.30, quickly but with loads of LOUD effort.....thus we decided to warn the new UK check in's the next day, with a discrete note under the door, that we could hear EVERYTHING and they could hear us. We were both thus very understanding and heard little, apart from their 03.00 throwing up after too many beers! The next morning they slept until the afternoon.....and we heard nothing out of them! Their hangovers must have been stellar! We would certainly return, but next time book both rooms to solve any noise issue. The location is so quiet despite being in the middle of Bruges which is probably why one probably hears your fellow residents every move. After three days we left and very impressed....and we survived without hangovers!

Adorable B&B in Brugge. Outside the city center in a residential area. Probably a 10 minute bus…read moreride or less to the tourist area. A sweet family owns and runs this place. I was greeted by the husband & wife, and met the whole family as well. Oogle is the husband/owner, and is the sweetest man. His daughters help him run this B&B. It was beautiful, clean, and decorated very very well. I was so comfortable and even ended up changing my flight home so I could stay longer. Breakfast was fantastic and all the staff was so helpful. I was there alone, but this would be the perfect place for a romantic weekend! :)

My husband and I splurged on the suite which I highly recommend. It was like having our own gorgeous apartment since it has a separate entrance from the rest of the B&B. The suite has a cozy living room area, a well-equipped kitchenette, very comfortable master bedroom, large bathing room with giant soaking tub, shower and large vanity, and bathroom off the living room. In addition, we had large slider doors which gave us access to the beautiful garden space. Each morning we were welcomed to breakfast by Muriel, our lovely host. She made us eggs in addition to a large spread of breads, cheese, fresh fruit and a few sweets. This was included in our stay which was an excellent perk; we quickly discovered that dining in Bruges can be really pricey, even for basic lunches. At check-out, we were able to tour the rest of the space, including the loft, where a scene from In Bruges was filmed (bedroom scene with Colin Farrell)! I'm very particular about accommodations when I vacation and Number 11 was up there among my favorites. Highly recommend this unforgettable B&B!

The house is hundreds of years old with huge whitewashed beams on the high ceilings. Behind the house is a small private back yard with a Koi pond. A canal is just beyond the back yard, and across the canal is a picturesque park. While the facility was perfect, Kees really made our stay special with advice on where to go & what to do, as well as an amazing breakfast each morning. We hope we'll be able to stay here again.
