" If you came here for luxury, you came to the wrong place".
With that said, PP is an amazing and affordable place to stay while in Berlin. Believe me when I say, given the fact that you are going to be in Berlin, I assure you will only see your room during the mornings and late evenings! WHAT A CITY!
The room is frugal but clean and well decorated, and the bed is comfortable enough too. The shower has high pressure and works fine. The Internet is fast and very stable and covered throughout the entire building with no hiccups. They have a breakfast, simple but really well prepared. Daisy is the lady who manages the hotel most of the day. What an absolutely sweetheart. I asked my friend if I could take her home with us. Daisy is always up to a good conversation and willing to help, no matter if with anything related to the hotel or if giving you hints of places to go.
The location is only a couple of blocks away from the subway, and a couple of stations from major touristic sights such as the Brandenburg Gates and the Holocaust Memorial.
Nevertheless, even though totally worth it, the place has its shortcomings. The building is old, really old, therefore, there is no elevator. It seems fine until you find yourself with 3 bags and having to walk up stairs, or when you realized that you forgot something in the room, before you leave for your sights-exploring. The lobby closes at 6 p.m and their backyard only can be used during the day. Therefore, if you want to make a phone call, for instance, out of these periods and don't want to bother people, you have literally do so from the street.
In conclusion, PP is a totally worth its price, has decent amenities and is well located. If you are looking for a comfortable, affordable and simple place to stay, this is for you. Luxury isn't their deal, but they will indeed make you feel welcome and well taken care of, if you can get over the little shortcomings. read more
