Gayle and I had a comfortable stay here after completing Day 5 of the Camino Ingles. Day 5 was easier than Day 4 in terms of elevation changes, but the walk was a long and tiring one. You actually pass Pension Vilanova on the way into Sigüeiro, which we did as we looked for a recommended place for Lunch (Cafe Restaurante Miras). However, if you walk back along the Highway, Penson Vilanova is maybe a half-mile walk, or in our case a 5 Euro Cab ride.
The couple who ran the Pension were very friendly and accommodating. Our bags (via courier) had already arrived, cold beer was available, as was lunch/dinner service, plus a decent breakfast the next morning. We also had the pleasure of chatting with fellow Pilgrims, some of which we'd already met on the Camino. The Pension also has a nice porch to hang out.
After we enjoyed our adult beverages and a post-Camino shower, we must of rested on the bed for a good hour as we were really sore. With the exception of the beeping noise from the Pension's robot lawn machine, we had a great sleep and we were up and raring to go early (after breakfast) back into town and onward to Santiago. read more
