Should you ever end up spending any time in the east of the former East Germany, the northern state Mecklenburg, there are plenty of hotels that offer the conveniences of the any other hotel in the world. But if you want to experience the hospitality of northern Germanys countryside, there is no better place than Pension Weiss. Hidden in the small village of Moeckow Pension Weiss offers clean rooms with new showers and a owner, Mrs Tesch who will do anything to make your stay like staying with family. Outside the main door you will see Storks nesting , at night it is so silent you hear the wild life and the local dogs. Hang out on one of the Terraces, ask for anything you might want and need, Mrs. Tesch will make it happen and she speaks some English too! I went there for a family gathering, what a perfect place. We stayed here with 25 family members, the Pension Weiss offered all meals; nothing fancy but as good as my grandmother would have made it, freshly baked goods, hearty soups cooked with love. By being here the family really had time to mingle without the distractions of a bigger place. Still Moeckow is only 10 minutes away from Greifswald, a nice University city with plenty of restaurants etc. Also, for my next visit I plan to visit a Museum, that promises to show you how great the good old DDR was... what a trip.....
