The hotel is right by an U-Bahn station and within a short walk of an S-Bahn station, so I'd actually consider staying there for future visits to Berlin (i.e., not only when taking an early flight) because the cost is certainly more reasonable than in central Berlin. I'd requested a top floor/quiet room and we had no problems with noise. The rooms have a/c (not a standard option in Germany), although we didn't need to use it. The room was spotless, and the shower stall was a more reasonable size than the minuscule ones we'd encountered at several previous hotels. The front desk staff were all pleasant and efficient. There's also free coffee and gelato on the first floor. The (free) buffet breakfast was *terrific*; it was very extensive and everything tasted great (there was also a lot of meat, which we don't eat). The only reason why I'm giving three stars instead of four is because of the HORRENDOUS WiFi. Not only was it *incredibly* slow and not only did it cut us off frequently, but we had to stand by the door of our room for a lengthy period each time we got cut off (in order to get back online).

Free coffee down in the breakfast area which we enjoyed on this damp cool evening. It's right across the street from a mall which was handy for a nice quick supper. There is a window across the entire wall of the room. So cool. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because the front desk lady was kind of surly. We had been traveling all day and had a few questions about breakfast and other things. She seemed annoyed to be bothered. There was no one else waiting to check in. She didn't tell us about the internet password. I tried to call the front desk but no one answered. We walked down to the desk. She again had a bad attitude when we asked about the password. She said it was in the back of the little folder she had given us with the keys. She seemed to think we were stupid for missing it. Anyway, I recommend this hotel. Just hope someone else is working the front desk. Plus it's really close to Tegel airport.

Since some years on Christmas Day, the family of my love visites this tasteful hotel for Brunch & devotional feast. The food is always selected first class and there is always cold and hot dishes, the selection has something for every taste. The staff is polite, courteous, just as one would expect in such a house. We were always very satisfied so far.

Beautiful building, very well manicured. Loved my room & balcony. Great place to watch Potsdam wake up while sipping coffee or slow down sipping a glass of Reisling. I usually avoid hotel breakfasts but due to exhaustion I went down for the 9 euro one. The coffee: good! The continental breakfast was simple but the food was so flavorful and fresh. I was impressed. Service was top notch. My room was very simple and at first I felt a bit disappointed and cold. But upon returning in the night the room was warm and the myriad of features revealed themselves. A full closet which I loved. Bed was comfortable. Late check out (for which I gratefully paid) was available. A wonderful experience.

However for the last couple days of nearly my week long stay I was in and out of the hotel room often. This seemed to baffle the cleaning staff and my room went uncleaned for those days. I'd leave the room for 2-4 hours at a time and hung the standard "Clean Now" sign on the door but nothing happened. I pointed it out to the staff at reception and they seemed genuinely concerned and said they would look in to it. One day is fine but two days in a room it's starts to look like a systemic problem. That being said, I'd definitely stay there again, just not on trips I need to work from the hotel for large chunks of time during the day.

You can be in the center of Berlin in less than ten minutes. Also, there is a nice park nearby where you can run and exercise. What I really like about this place is the inclusion of breakfast. Wow, they are really really generous. So they don't speak English. Guess what, you're in Germany. Try speaking THEIR language, and maybe they won't come off as so rude to you. Enjoy. When I come back to Berlin, I will stay here if I need somewhere to sleep.
