This is a hotel with lots of character, located at the edge of the El Albayzín neighborhood. It's…read morevery conveniently located- from the hotel, it's a short walk (5 min) to most of the sights in "Modern" Granada and a ~20 min (uphill) walk to the Alhambra. The lobby, hallway, and rooms all retain the architecture of the house from which the hotel was converted. The service (both by the maid staff and the front desk staff) is excellent, and they speak English.
Unfortunately, a couple issues prevent me from giving the hotel a higher review. First, a faint smell of sewage greeted me each time I opened the room door. Sure, it was faint, and sure, it seemed to go away after a few minutes (i.e. I got used to it), but a sewage smell is a sewage smell. Less importantly, the wifi didn't work well in the room (and was weak even in the lobby). This is an issue in many hotels we visited in Andalusia though, so I'd recommend purchasing a local 3G/4G sim card from Vodafone.
