When I say People's don't owe my family nothing. They did awesome job on Uncle Jermie Hardon and my family is very satisfied.... Cliff and Sidney showed sincere sincerity and customer service was very impeccable... Everything they wanted done was done... It was very nicely decorated throughout and smelled very good. The atmosphere was light and quiet ... They handled the family with great care and compassion. They definitely pay attention to their customers... I would recommend them to anyone who want to have their loved ones handled with care.... read more

the worst experience in my entire life. I buried my nephew here about a month ago. They didn't go by the program. The air conditioner went out, so my nephew is in his casket sweating. It already took them eight hours to work on his face, but he was sweating it off, the seating arrangements was awful. It was they didn't go by the program. We worked so hard picking out his songs and trying to send him way beautifully they didn't play any of the songs that we sent to them. On the program that was discussed prior to the funeral The songs that they did play we did not pick out and then there was commercials very afterwards... the entire process was rushed just evening writing this review is making me sick to my stomach please I am warning you do not bring your loved ones here. read more

People's took care of my brother this week. They were amazing, professionally, compassionate and concerned about the wants and needs of the family. Amanda was wonderful. We had family coming from all over for the viewing and they accommodated us, they were amazing at the church and burial also. The facility is very nicely decorated. It doesn't feel like doom, it's warm and the visitation room is spacious and beautiful. They also make these beautiful photo blankets for the family. read more

As an executive for a Fortune 150 company and a licensed engineer (Texas), I've spent almost my entire career as a subject matter expert in managing capital investments and product quality of North America's "worlds best" and "first class" commercial vehicles. To be a leader in this business high expectations are required from all stakeholders. It's rare that I write a positive review. In researching a burial policy for my mother I obtained 3 quotes based on the same requirements and used Costco casket specifications. Except for Peoples Funeral Home, it felt like Buying a used car from the other two funeral homes. As I've found with this approach over the years is that you get a wide range between the quotes. However in this case Peoples quote was less than half that of the others. Then I read reviews and all but one were very positive for Peoples, there was one review with a customer having difficulty with getting the death certificate. We had the family viewing 2 days ago. We were all overwhelmed with what a great job People's did, several items (custom blanket with my mothers picture and casket name plate) were included at no cost. And based on conversations with friends, there were no extra charges that had occurred with the other funeral homes and their family members. The funeral held yesterday was great and they accommodated every request we had (thanks Ronnie). I find it offending that the other funeral homes are managed like used car dealerships. Especially when there is not time to conduct the due diligence of an unplanned death of a loved one. I hope this advice is helpful, I can already tell you that our family members will use People's versus the home town competitors in Wise County going forward. I have to laugh a bit when I asked why the quotes were so much higher "we have higher overhead". That either tells me they are poorly managed or they have an extremely high profit margin. read more

We were very grateful to find Peoples Funeral home to cremate my father after his unexpected passing. They were much cheaper than the other spots in town we called, but took care of everything for my family. My Mom and siblings found the staff to be welcoming and friendly. Location is off the path in an older residential area, but that didn't matter to us as we were only having the cremation done. Would recommend to others needing the same. read more

Unfortunately I'm having to update this review with less stars. The service was decent until they got full payment... then good luck getting any expeditious work from them. They told us they would handle the death certificate however, I ended up having to make all the calls tracking down what happened to the certificate once we saw it was taking an irregular amount of time to process. Through the process I found out that once examiner amends the file, the file gets pushed to an internal HQ which approves and uploads to state system. Then the county clerk office will be able to see the file and print copies for funeral home. With the new system in place, funeral home had to just notify the county examiner's office or state that they had trouble seeing file and it would have been fixed... instead they told me and family, repeatedly, that the system was down and nothing they could do or that the examiner didn't do their part. So after I called around, I found out the process and the process moved forward... without me calling and pushing I fear this would've pushed the process half a year... or more! All it took was one call from the funeral home to get them access reestablished. read more
