If I could give zero stars I would. Over 3 hours to mount 3 tires and get an alignment. I will never come back here.

My daughter and I have been coming to this Pep Boys location for a few years now. The service is FANTASTIC and the people that work here are SUPERB! Just once I attempted to go to another one of their locations as this one was closed and unfortunately it was a very poor experience. Every time we visit the location on Montauk Hwy we are greeted very professionally and the workers there are so very kind and most of all honest. Recently my daughter had to bring in her vehicle for service and "Ben" could not have been more helpful, kind and professional. He was truly amazing and provided excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE. I can only hope that the staff here is recognized by the Pep Boys Corporation for their outstanding service. They set the bar high! What started off as a good experience when SOUTH! I ordered the tires (2) Iron man tires and said I wanted high speed balancing. Was given a price of $309.10 which was $30 less than any other place I went to. A week later I was at the shop having them put on, I had contracted or bought the tires to be put on the rear, the rear tires to be put on the front and to fix a slow leak in one of them and know I had to pay for that. I was surprised that they pulled the Jeep into the shop in less than 5 minutes and then the jeep sat on the lift for an hour. It wasn't for another 30 minutes before one tire rolled out and had to wait again for the next one. I asked the sales man, they are getting high speed blanching and was told NO after I thought that's what I was getting because when I ordered the tires I asked for. That it would be an extra. This is when things started to go SOUTH using that would nicely, The guy used his impact gun over and over and over and over again to get the nut free, the shop foreman came over and they tried to BANG on a socket and use a breaker bar on it a few times all the time pounding the nut with a claw hammer. The manger came over to me and said they might have to break it off and if the stud needed to be replaced it would be an extra. I thought THEY broke the Fing thing how much could they ask? The manger Peter played on his computer and then on his phone and came up with a price of $168 , That sent me over the edge, I told him to put the truck back together That was Fing unbelievable, they broke the Fing lug nut and I had to pay for it! They kept me waiting to pay the bill, and I was so Peeeeed off, I did throw the guy a small tip because I know they get paid garbage and he tried. My auto mechanic looked at it and said """"""how the hell did they do that"""""""""""""""""" well the jeep is going in next Friday to fix the damage pep boys did. So now I have to tie up a work truck for the day and the cost to fix it. ALSO they removed the JEEP insignia in the center of the rim exposing the cotter pin that holds the cover over the bearing. GONE! Zero quality control and they didn't even wipe down the new tires. In the 40 plus years of buying tires this was the Worst experience I ever had!!!!!!! montauk highway lindenhurst, had my shop do the repair that this shop screwed up it cost me 70.00 bucks they wanted 168, they are a rip off shop. read more

It was raining and I noticed one of my windshield wipers was broken. The serviceman inside helped me immediately and put the wipers on for me even in the rain. Very professional and friendly. They will tell you brakes and calipers are needed when you only need pads will tell you they did an oil change and they don't I have proof!!! The bad review another individual had posted before this one was for a different Pep Boys and not the Montauk Highway location. The staff at this Pep boys were all great. Jake and the nwoman at the counter were all so friendly, informative, and easy to work with. They called you about your car with updates through out the day. The mechanics Jose and Kyle are good guys too. Did a fantastic job fixing my destroyed suspension. Not only that, this Pep boys fixed my car in a short period of time and the cost was way lower than i expected. Im never going back to the dealer or other mechanics. Id recommend this spot to anyone who needs car maintenance or repairs of any kind. Theyre great here read more

My husband made an appointment on Wednesday for 3pm on Friday for 2 new tires. When he arrived at 2:45 he was told there was no appointment in the computer. He was told they could do the tires anyway because they were not busy . But then was told he would have to wait because ALL the workers went to lunch at the same time. He didn't know when they would be back but would do the tires when they returned . He asked for a manager but was told they both were at lunch also but didn't know when they would be back. It took an hour and 45 minutes to replace the tires . Not a way to run a business, someone else will be putting tires on his car next time! read more

Very UNETHICAL COMPANY Took my 2017 car to this Pep Boys location on 11/13/19 for an oil change and their mechanics didn't add oil. Picked the car up and heard the engine knocking. I checked the oil and it was low. Took it back to them and they then they added oil. By then the damage to the engine was done. While driving the engine seized. Called and called the claims department they give you the run around. After continuous calls they finally sent and INDEPENDENT inspector to assess the car and he too concluded the damage was due to no oil. Pep Boys refused to fix the car despite the report from their inspector. I provided them with all evidence and documentation showing that the damage was their error and they still refuse to fix the car. I'm still fighting with them. They damaged a 2 year old car and will not take responsibility. Very unethical. Sad!!! Consumer BEWARE! There are many other places to get your oil changed at. Use those other companies if you want to drive off with your car intact! read more
