After a morning of sightseeing, we decided on Pepper Asian Bistro for lunch. We were seated immediately, the service was friendly accommodating our large group. We got Potstickers and Chicken Satay to start. We liked both our appetizers, it was a great start to our meal. We then got Orange Chicken, Steamed Chicken with Vegetable w/ Garlic sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. All our dishes were good, we enjoyed our meal a lot.

This is a great spot for Asian-American food. Every plate I've had has always hit the spot and been so delicious. I've never gotten her name, but there is one waitress here that is always infectious with her friendly demeanor, is prompt, helpful, and super accommodating. Every time I've gone, the restaurant is always clean and organized. I wish we could give half stars because this place is a 4.5 in reality, the price point just does not match the quantity/uniqueness of the food. No reason to skip this place though! A must try on Colfax!

Service is very good here. My green curry tofu was tasty but the sauce is way too heavy. My friend had a vegetarian Mongolian eggplant dish, it was good.

TRY THIS PLACE if you love Chinese, you will not regret it ! This was my Mothers Day dinner and we dined in. I absolutely loved the service we got from our waitress. She was very attentive, quick and was always there to get us refills. The food has such great flavor and comes out nice and hot! We ordered the hot and sour and egg drop soup which came out nice and hot with some green onions on top. Next, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein and sesame chicken . Best lo mein I've had in a long time ! Fantastic rice and crispy sesame chicken. Everything was soooo good I didn't want to stop eating! Thank you all in the kitchen it was such a delicious Mothers Day meal! Will be returning very soon! I highly recommend this place!

Crispy Spring Roll, Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Fried Rice

I've ordered takeout from here a few times and each time I've really enjoyed my meal. Some of my favorites are the crispy spring rolls, sesame chicken, fried rice, and Mongolian beef. Good portions, quality tasting, served hot & quick delivery. I forgot to snag a good pic of all the items separately because when Chinese arrives and you're in a group - it's a free-for-all amiright??

My boyfriend and I come to this place every few weeks and it never disappoints. We tend to get the sesame chicken and orange chicken with fried rice. The fried rice isn't the best thing I've ever tasted but it does the job. I love the fried spring rolls, they're always sooo piping hot and yummy. The service is always nice and they've even given us a free order of dumpling before which is very kind. One time we ordered the drunken noodles, it was good but not our cup of tea as the noodles are very thick. But that's okay I just wouldn't get it again. Overall, my verdict is visit this place if you're in the area for some yummy Chinese food.

When I lived in New Hampshire they had "Asian restaurants" like this! And I am always skeptical of a place that serves Hakka, Thai, Japanese. Pepper Asian serves sort of generic gloppy Cantonese uninspired dishes. You can tell when the next day the sauces congeal. I really can't say any dish was particularly good and am somewhat surprised that Yelpers gave this place such high remarks...like maybe go to a city ( Shanghai, Beijing, San Fran LA, NY) and see what really Hakka/Cantonese Cuisine is like, Sorry.

    Calamari
    Sunu S.

Now this is a place that you should try. Rich in flavor and a hole in the wall that rears you kindly and gives you great portions. APPETIZERS: Okay the Calamari was just incredibly crispy and delicious. They give you this yellow sauce that im not sure what it is but it is soooo good. It's incredibly savory and rich that compliments the crispy Calamari. The crab cheese wontons are the best I've had in a while. These are full of crab cheese and the skin is so crispy it just brings everything together. The texture is smooth and tastes rich in cheese but not overwhelming. You need to get either one of these when you come here. THE ORANGE CHICKEN: Hey call me basic but this orange chicken is literally one of the best I've ever had. It's one of the first orange chickens where it actually has flavors of sweet and savory orange citrus. The skin is oh so crispy yet the chicken is so soft. It's like a chicken nugget but luxury. I loved this place, I will definitely be coming here again and will not miss it for a second.

The service was so quick and very friendly. I went with my vegetarian friend and they had lots of good options for both of us. Their pad sew Lew was really flavourful and the Buddhas feast was a great complement to the sesame chicken. The place had tons of tables and space for us even without a reservation.

Fantastic find! We arrived on a Friday night and were not disappointed at all. At first, the restaurant did seem a little unorganized as we were waiting by the door for a few minutes without being acknowledged, but once they sat us down, everything fell into place. Not only was the staff attentive, they were very quick to get us waters, menus, and get our orders out. We ordered 5 entrées to share, and we were not disappointed. The food was perfectly seasoned and was so flavorful. The spicy dishes had a kick, which was nice. We did try to not go too spicy as we were all sharing, but even the "hot" level did its thing! We've been talking about this place since we left, and can't wait to come back. Also, they were playing 2000's music which really made the ambience even better! Good food and great vibes!!

Wet dumplings are very delicious, and waitresses were kind and helpful. But sofa chairs were dated. I wore short pants, and that hurt.

The Mongolian Beef is EXCELLENT. The orange chicken is also decent as well as most of the other traditional American-Chinese dishes.

Ask the Community - Pepper Asian Bistro

    Do they take Reservations?

Reservations are not required, at least I've never experienced it. They can be very busy Thursday-Sunday evenings. Calling ahead is a good idea, especially if its a larger group (more than 4).

    Do they have party trays?

Yes, you can order party trays. I did a year ago with the Potstickers and the Chicken Satay. Both were a hit, especially the Chicken. Love this eatery.

    What hours are they open?

Typically 10pm but website shows 9:30pm on Sunday. May be earlier when slow or holidays.

Are the portion sizes for lunch and dinner different or is it just the price?

    Yes, portion sizes are different.

My favorite was the French toast, crunchy on the outside and warm, soft, and savory on the inside. It was also good I usually don't like anything with coconut and this has it in there. Never would've guessed that's what I was eating because of the way they incorporated all of the other ingredients! Me and my friends ate the ants on a tree, the Korean chicken, sweet and sour chicken, the potatoes, French toast, and the Korean corn dog. We shared everything and all were very full by the end. It was a great atmosphere to have a delicious dinner with friends!

Absolutely delicious food, but laughable service…read more My wife and I were blown away by our meal. Everything we tried was amazing. Our bellies were full, satisfied, and we couldn't have asked for a better dinner. Walked in for dinner around 7:30pm on a weeknight. It was decently busy. We waited at the hostess stand. We waited and waited. A server walked by without acknowledging us. Another person walked by without acknowledging us. And yet another person walked by and guess what...didn't acknowledge us. Do we smell bad? Is this normal service around here? Who ignores people inside a restaurant? Imagine if someone walked into your house and wasn't greeted. Wouldn't that be odd? Admittedly, this is such a pet peeve of mine and my tolerance for it is zero. And because of this, your mind starts to wander. Oh, is it because they got a nod from Michelin? Are we not cool enough to be here? Are they a pretentious restaurant? Is my money not good enough? To be honest, I'm surprised we didn't walk out. We waited five full minutes until one of the three aforementioned employees came up to us. So the vibes were off for the entire meal, but as someone who can take a step back, the food was freaking phenomenal. SHUI JIAO - BEIJING STYLE DUMPLINGS ($15) // pork & cabbage boiled dumplings, house dumpling sauce. Dumpling sauce was what I imagine crack would taste like. These were the perfect starter. KKANPUNGGI - KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN ($23) // fried chicken, spicy garlic gochujang sauce served with thai jasmine rice and chinese smashed cucumber salad. Crunchy and crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. This was better than some places that specialize in KFC. No notes! MI XAO TOI - VIETNAMESE GARLIC NOODLE ($23) // shrimp, egg noodles, broccoli, vietnamese garlic butter sauce. My wife's dish, I only took a bite. She loved it and did her happy dance the whole time. My only criticism was it didn't really taste like Asian food. To be honest, it kind of tasted like an Italian noodle dish I'd make at home. Either way, happy wife happy life. They add a 6% kitchen fee to every bill. So yeah, there's that. Will we come back? Yes, because the food is absolutely delicious. It kind of annoys me how good it is considering the poor service we received. I'm not one to completely trash a place, I can look past my own internal bias. But damnit, can y'all just be more hospitable next time?
