It's good but kinda gimmicky for what it is... All of the ingredients are very simple but everything is tied together with the sizzle on the iron hotplate. If you take away the sizzle, then you're just left with a stir fry. I wished that whenever I order extra ingredients like an egg, green onion, and mushrooms these items would be on the main hotplate and not on a separate one where I have to transfer over. Overall I would go here for a simple lunch. The service was awesome!
My son and I went for lunch, over all good experiences but it's not much different than Burning Rice or Hibachi other than the sauces are different if you don't get teriyaki. Service was great, food was pretty good. Check in/order from the kiosk was horrible slow. Only 2 kiosks, had the line backed up out the door because the process is so slow and people stand there and look at everything, took longer to get through this process with only 3 couples in front of us than it did to get food and eat. For this reason I won't be back, not that great to wait for a short line. Hopefully they can fix this, it's huge problem.
Great service, plenty of seating, and a nice atmosphere. I ordered the brisket garlic rice with added kimchi, and the flavor was delicious. The only downside was that the brisket seemed to be fully cooked already, so the extra sizzling on the hot plate made some of the pieces burnt.
The beef pepper lunch was yummy, but nothing special. It's just fried rice that you have to stir up. You can add more toppings, but it does add up. I do wish they give you more beef. You place your order at the kiosk, grab buzzer, & have a seat at any table available. They bring you your order & ask if you want them to mix it up for you.
Service was good helpful they cleaned our tables. It was very busy. We were still able to manage to get a table. Service was decently quick. We did not have to wait. Long food was tasty. Enjoying the sauces. Prices around 13 to 16 per person potentially 20 if you want extra toppings.
You order at a kiosk and sit wherever you'd like. The staff brings out your food to your table. I'd say the portions are pretty big, and the food comes out fairly quickly. It's a great quick meal that will fill you up.
We went here for our weekly date night and we thought it was a terrific concept! I got the beef curry and my partner got the pepper beef, daring, I know. Cooking the meat in the cast iron bowl was novel and the staff offered to do it for us if we felt uncomfortable doing it. The beef was of good quality for the price and the curry sauce was quite tasty. Each plate is something of a blank slate without add-on toppings such as egg and various vegetables. By default they only come with meat, onions, rice, and corn. The sauces at the table were also quite tasty. The service was outstanding. There was a line out the door the whole time we were there and it was always moving quickly. Despite the crowd, the staff brought us our food with haste and made sure our needs were met. We will certainly be returning.

Everything was cooked nicely and was a good amount of food for money, and our drinks were kept topped up by the staff despite the busy evening. Overall, I'm looking forward to returning. I think I'd like to try one of the pasta dishes next.
I've been anxiously waiting for this to open. I went to Pepperlunch for the first time in Hong Kong decades ago and fell in love. You come in and order through a tablet kiosk, given a buzzer, and then you get seated. My family and I were invited for a soft opening dinner. Grand opening is this weekend. We got to try the popular but traditional pepper beef and the kimchi pepper beef. My kids had the pasta and chicken and the karaage and fries. We also ordered drinks: fountain lemonade and the dragonfruit drink (highly recommend). Sides I ordered were regular French fries, sweet potato fries and the onion rings. They were all the right amount of crispiness! The pepper beef dishes were just as I remembered. Everything just melted in my mouth. My server mixed my dish and helped to cook it for me.The foot stayed super hot and fresh on the sizzling hot plate. What was lacking were the kids' dishes. The pasta was plain and needing the garlic soy sauce and the sweet sauce on the table. The karaage was too hard and not tender and juicy enough inside. They forgot my onion rings, but they were delivered after we finished our meal. Service was great and friendly. Decor and ambience was clean, fresh, and modern. You're going to need some patience waiting for your food, but it's worth it. They're still working out the kinks.

I was stoked to see this new food spot! I came the week after the grand opening and it was super busy, as expected. Food was pretty pricey, with us spending around $80 for 2 bowls and 2 sides. I don't mind spending on good food at allll but I don't think this was worth it. Onion rings were really good and sweet potato fries were just okay (more like wedges and not seasoned at all). The bowls are super customizable but with every ingredient costing $2, it adds up. Why are things like green onions $1.99? :( On top of that, the only seasoning that can actually be tasted is pepper so overall it was pretty bland. Sad to say that this did not meet our expectations.

What a unique experience here at Pepper Lunch! I got the beef pepper rice, and it gets served on a sizzling hot plate. You cook the meat and mix in the veggies in the hot plate. While entering you can order on the self serve kiosk and there is a page where you can add toppings for an additional cost. You also pick a number buzzer, enter the number and then sit wherever there is an open table. When it gets served you have the option to have the staff cook it for you. Since it was my first time here, I decided to have the staff cook it and she was very friendly and efficient with the cooking. NOTE: the hot plate is HOT. Even after everything is done cooking and you're ready to eat it, the plate can still be hot. I accidentally touched the hot edge of the plate while eating and didn't expect it to still be that hot!! We also got a chicken karaage which is Japanese fried chicken. It was delicious and perfectly fried! I had a great time here, there's clean seating and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Pepper Lunch if you want to experience the sizzling hot plate meal! read more
The food was really good and everything came out fresh, hot, and flavorful. The beef was seasoned well, and the combination with the rice, corn, and veggies was delicious. The shrimp pasta was also tasty and had a good amount of shrimp. My only real complaint is the portion size for the price. My beef meal was around $19, and while it tasted great, the portion was pretty small and I was still hungry afterward. I'd definitely come back, but I'd love to see larger portions or a little more value for the price. Overall, great food and flavor, just a little pricey for the amount you get. read more

We came here for lunch over the weekend. I ordered their cream shrimp pasta 16.99 and my husband ordered their beef pepper rice $13 with an egg 1.99 | total came out to be ~$32 without tip. You pay at the 2 kiosks and then you find your own seating. Plenty of seats in the restaurant. The food came out pretty quick. The shrimp is already cooked. Once served, they ask if you want it mixed by the servers. I opted yes and my husband opted no. They said to mix first before adding the sauce or the sauce may burn. The cream on my pasta doesn't have much flavor, but pairs well with the pasta, shrimp, mushroom, onions, and pepper paste. Not sure if this restaurant is a chain or independently owned. There was a pepper lunch in milpitas, ca that had the same concept, but they also had udon noodles instead of just rice, which was my favorite so I was a little disappointed when all they had were rice options. I'm hoping they are able to add udon noodles to their menu, along with some curry flavored dishes. Then I would come a lot more! read more

Beautiful Restaurant with great quality food. Service I thought needed a bit work as it was a bit slow however they just have opened so that will probably improve over the next few months. I got the classic beef, rice, corn, green onions and added mushrooms to my hot plate bowl. The concept is extremely cool as the food cooks right in front of you and the flavor of the beef is extremely great. Our waiter Kaya was also really kind. We will definitely be back although for opening week lines to get inside have been extremely long. read more
Finally open! This is a Japanese classic that used to exist in Houston, but closed down eventually so I'm so excited to see it re-entering the market. The beef bowl comes out in a sizzling, hot platter with rice and corn and green onions. I'm a fan of dosing it in the garlic and sweet sauce. You can also easily customize it with any extra add-ons. We ended up going during the grand opening and it was a blast. The one thing I didn't love was how cooked the karaage as it felt like it was left in the fryer a little too long, but due to the fact that it was their grand opening, I'm not gonna blame them for that until I've had it again. Their mascot is super cute. This fits perfectly with the coco ichibanya across the way. Another thing to note is that whenever you order chicken or onion rings you're able to get a sauce on the side for free and the options they have are kimchi, Sriracha, and ketchup. read more

How fun - went when opened 11 am today; excellent service - staff - helpful and patience as our first visit. Kiosk order but also staff to help as needed with any - all questions. So nice. We enjoyed the garlic brisket pepper rice dish limited time option and it was excellent - beef was cooked to perfection. Dish came out sizzling hot and one of our favorites the hot dish makes the rice crispy - flavors were outstanding. Staff showed us how to mix the dish once served - very fun. Several sauces available according to your taste buds. We enjoyed them all. Planning to take other family there - unique and fun. Easy up front parking. read more

The venue is super clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food came out really quickly, and since it was my first time, they kindly showed me how to cook it, which made the experience even better.
