This gives an interesting 'manly' touch to this place that has art on the walls and creative atmosphere. The customers are families from the neighbourhood but surprisingly many travel from Wellington. Once you get to know this place you want to come back. The coffee (Ripe) is good and food is also tasty and fresh. Groudup is a good destination for a little trip to indulge in food and coffee with friends or just pleasantly alone.

It wasn't super busy and parking was easy to navigate. I can't remember their clever names, but we essentially ordered 2 lattes plus their eggs Benedict and mince on toast. Coffee was good and strong and well made. Benny was served on a giant hashbrown wedge which was really interesting. However, the entire thing sat heavy in my belly like a brick the entire day. Husband enjoyed his mince on toast. The serving was quite generous and he all but licked his plate clean. I'm not sure if I'd go back as there are a plethora of cool breakfast joints to try in/around Wellington, but it certainly wasn't a bad experience. My wife is gluten free, and they were able to accommodate her mushroom toast order with gluten free bread (taste was out of this world, it came with a fried cheese tuile on top that just added so much more savoriness), and my Turkish eggs with halloumi was a light but perfectly satiating plate that had a lot of bold flavors coming from the shakshuka style sauce. Our friends got a seasonal special croissant sandwich as well as their bibimbap plate, and considering they spent the entire time eating and not saying anything I would consider that a resounding "yes this is amazing". They also had an amazing raspberry matcha that was so unbelievably creamy and delicious, I highly recommend trying it with oat milk if that fits your fancy. We were visiting from the US, and the prices I would say are comparable to a First Watch. Reasonable for a nice brunch when you're trying something out in a new city. I'm already planning my next trip out to AUS and NZ, and I know for sure I'm going to make this place a must-stop.

Only negative is that the space can be noisy.
