Yes, this is a place of fetishes - weird dress code, funky hats, royals self importance abounding, and indeed the most exquisite horses. The issue I had is that it was nearly like going to a circus in that the horses were so trained they no longer had the spirit I know a horse to have, sadness truly overthrew me often in the 60-90 min experience. The grounds are amazing, tourist mobs unpalatable and if you've fear of your buses this is NOT the place for you! I looked through it in hopes if see beauty and grace but instead I saw gross volumes of people in awe of a horse being whipped so they can stand on two legs and jump like a jack rabbit... I wish I could say 5 star or even 4 star but really I put this with bullfighting- should be stopped as it simply is inhumane!

It can be busier in the summer months especially with tourists not just from outside of spain. The best thing to do is to bring some homemade sangria wine and a floating bar (essentially a solid block of flat wood) that you can use to keep your drinks perched above the water while you snorkel and check out the little fish! Alternatively you can lounge on the sand and get a head start on that melanoma, wrinkling, moles, all the good things people get when they are those who don't bother putting on sunscreen!

This square is all hill, so expect to stand on a slant, unlike most flat plazas. History? This square dates to the Middle Ages. Enclosed by the "Old Cathedral" of Cádiz, aka the church of Santa Cruz, on one side, and Casa de la Contaduría on the other. In the early 1700s the cistern was built in the square. Other surrounding buildings include the former Bishop's House, and the Estopiñán house.
