Great service and awesome ambiance on the outside patio! The food and drinks are really good as always

This was absolutely fabulous! I loved the appetizers, the mains, the drinks, the dessert - everything was super flavorful! My favorite was definitely the cucumber cocktail and the pistachio baklava. The cucumber cocktail was very refreshing and quite strong (but not too overpowering in terms of alcohol). The salmon was very well cooked and I loved the grapes - the sweetest of the grapes complimented well with the salmon and yogurt sauce. The pistachio baklava was amazing! You can really taste the pistachio and overall it wasn't too sweet. The appetizers were also perfect portion sizes to snack on before the entree and everything was pretty vegetarian friendly. Really nice Mediterranean tapas restaurant Highlight of the meal was the Zucchini dip, would highly recommend. Their chicken shashilk was cooked to perfection, charred yet did not taste any bit burnt, don't think I've ever experiences that before. In addition tried the calamari, sirloin, basked potatoes, and pita bread. All were good in their own right, just the two above were above the rest for me. The outdoor seating was a beautiful courtyard. Beautifully decorated and I had no issues with any of my servers. The drink selection was decent. Partially my fault for ordering draft beer at such a place but felt the selection was a bit light. The dessert baklava was okay, I wouldn't say it was to die for, probably the most underwhelming part of the trip, but overall had an amazing time. read more

The chicken shashlik was definitely in my top 10 meals of all time that was sooooo delicious. The rice, the tender chicken, fresh greens AND tzatziki all went together so beautifully and just tasted amazing. The dip sampler and brussel sprouts were great too. Our server was very friendly and fast - she kept the rose flowing which is always good. We sat outside on the patio which was gorgeoussss. I would absolutely come back to this place in the future. Me and my bestfriend stopped by Pera Soho just for a drink at the bar while w e waiting for our reservations at another restaurant but wanted to stop by and rave about the experience as much as I could. The service was amazing ! Instantly the host greeted us with a smile and walked us to the bar. I seen Malbec and wanted to try it . A really great spot with an awesome happy hour! They have $10 apps and drinks during happy hour. Such a great deal. Everything tasted great. The blood orange martini was strong and garnished with an orange. The pear and ginger sangria was also good and refreshing. For food, I loved the calamari and hummus. You could tell the hummus was housemade. The housemade pita chips were also really really crispy and delicious. The fries were also seasoned with a Mediterranean seasoning blend! Went on a Friday and it wasn't crowded at all. Sit on the patio -- really big and spacious and has fans for hotter days. Highly suggest this spot as it is one of the best happy hour deals I've found in Manhattan! All of that was about $60! read more

Meh. Forgettable. The only thing Pera Soho has going for it is the ambiance and location. The food and drinks were weak. I remember Pera from back in the day, their midtown location was our go to restaurant for entertaining out of town visitors or any time we craved good Turkish food. Haven't been to a Pera in awhile, but my brunch experience made it pretty clear that the owner decided to invest more in making it look pretty and less in substance. The brunch menu was in line with pretty much every below average brunch restaurant in NYC. I ordered the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, my friends ordered the chicken shaslik and a bunch of apps and sides. Nothing really jumped out at us as being remarkable. It was just meh. The truffle potatoes were good. The chicken was dry. The Muhamara was alright. The octopus could have used more flavor. The Bloody Mary was meh. The service was great. I don't know.. I wish they would stick to their guns and include more OG menu items. Give the tourists, who are clearly your target audience, something to come back for. Something to write home about. Anyway, avoid if you can. Plenty of scene-y restaurants with actual good food in the neighborhood. read more

I absolutely love the place it's a beautiful terrace, incredibly appointed, very good ambience perfect look... Although the food is not that great. I was kind of excited to try the 48 hour marinated meat which sounded kind of like a steak and fries, instead I got a Skewer out of the supermarket with three tiny little pieces of chewy, very chewy meat and a basket of crisd drenched fries literally I was chewing on them and oil was pouring out of my mouth. I really want to displaced work because it's so beautiful, but maybe if I give it another chance I'll find something edible in there. read more

I recently went for restaurant week, and I will have to say the service was superb. With restaurant week they have a limited menu and being gluten-free, I had to ask the waiter what options were available. Typically for restaurant week, most restaurants will not adjust the menu but they were able to accommodate my allergy and allowed me to sub items. They even made me a surprise special dessert. All of the food was so tasty and the drinks were also pretty good. I will definitely be coming back - especially in the summer as they have a cute outdoor area. read more

I had a lovely evening with my husband a couple of friends here. The happy hour options were pretty good and so was the cocktail I tried. I am a vegetarian so the mezze options worked very well for me. My friends ordered the lamb sampler , the sea bass, the octopus and the salmon and from theirs umm and wows, you can guess they were very happy with their entrees. I tried the portobello gyro and I would have preferred more of the fresh salad and marinated grilled portobello mushroom instead of the tempura style fried portobello mushrooms and fried onions, I think the fried on fried was a bit much for me. I have 1 small request for the manager, if customers are complaining of the cold air blast on them, I'd rethink the placement of the tables instead of telling your customers there's nothing you can do about it. Overall I'd give 5 stars for the food and would visit again, may be I'll sit outdoors next time though. read more

This was a nice place for a large group to meet up and catch up. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The wait staff was polite and attentive. They did not mind the group staying there for more than an hour or two. Close to public transportation and easy to get to. Many vegetarian selections. TLDR: Absolutely incredible food, very welcoming staff, beautiful atmosphere. In SOHO? Definitely go to Pera Soho. Not in SoHo? Make a special trip, you won't regret it. When we first arrived, we were blown away by how gorgeous the place was. It truly felt like a mediterranean paradise, but with a slight NYC flare. We were greeted by who I assume was the manager or owner; a very nice gentleman with a hand of the king pin. (If you know, you know) We ordered the octopus, crudo, phyllo rolls and watermelon salad to start. We were QUITE hungry so unfortunately no pictures. However, the art behind the plating was breathtaking. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The crudo portion was generous and very fresh, the preparation was spot on. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the sauce on top was fresh, fragrant and savory with a minimal heat. The phyllo rolls were incredible, reminded me of my childhood christmases with my Aunt's "cheese pie" but better. I only wished there was more cheese in the rolls, but that's just me being a fiend for cheese. Watermelon and heirloom tomato was so fresh it felt like it was just plucked from someone's garden. The Serrano peppers in the salad created a flavor bomb that brought the lightness of the salad to a whole different level. As a "mid-course" we shared the roasted eggplant and greek yoghurt dip. It was like a blend of baba ganoush and tzatziki sauce. I definitely recommend, it was perfectly seasoned. Somehow, after all that, we still craved more. The way all the previous dishes blew us away in creativity, taste and plating left us wanting more. So we went with the Barnegat Sound scallop entree with the pea puree. The scallops were absolutely incredible. I always know seafood on a menu with a specific location is about to blow me away. The scallops were huge and cooked to **absolute** perfection. The accoutrements were also absolute perfection! Between taste and texture, the scallop dish was something I definitely recommend! Our server, whose name I forgot to ask, was awesome. He's a younger gentleman with a beautiful tattoo on the back of his neck/base of his skull. He was very aware of what was going on at our table and anticipated our needs without even asking, even while taking care of a huge party on the other side of the restaurant. That man deserves a raise!! All in all, GO TO PERA SOHO. Can't wait to go back :) read more
