It's really the perfect place to stop off when you're on the road on the Pacific Highway travelling north from Sydney. It's not too far from the highway that it's a massive detour and you feel good helping a local community and your stomach doesn't hate you because you're not eating fast food. We stopped off here for brunch on our way to Port Macquarie and were not disappointed. I love breakfast foods so really anywhere that is going to serve me eggs and bacon is going to be great. You can get eggs any way you like them with a whole range of sides from mushrooms to spinach and they even do gluten free bread for those with dietary requirements. The poached eggs were runny, the sautéed spinach was fresh (actually it was silverbeet which I am a huge fan of) and the hash browns were crispy. Really all you can ask for. The bread that came with the breakfast was from the local bakery and the baked beans did come out of a can but were still delicious. They had run out of mushrooms for the "Buladelah Breakfast" which one of my colleagues ordered so the owner ran out to get some and made sure we got them even though we had all finished our meal. They went above and beyond substituting things when their kitchen ran out, giving extra hash browns to one of my other travel companions in lieu of gluten free bread because they only had one slice. Their coffee is just okay but you couldn't ask for a better place to sit in the sun as a road-trip pit stop!

Order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Looking at the menu there was a few thing to choose from. I chose something a bit more traditional and got the beef (added bacon) burger. The chips were quite nice and the burger... okay. It wasn't anything amazing. A little boring is all I could gather. It needed something like ranch or tangy aioli to give it a bit more zing. Overall a decent place to stop for food and for a reasonable price. But nothing totally amazing.

My partner and I had lunch here after playing putt putt and Aqua golf. It had gone 2 pm and since it was a Tuesday it wasn't as busy as I've seen it in the past. Weekends can be a rush. I ordered a chocolate thickshake which came in one of those massive metal mixing cups. I love spooning out the ice cream before sipping my way to a full milk belly. It was delicious! My roast chicken wrap was pricey for the size. $18 with no accompanying chips but it too was tasty and I enjoyed the combination of the mellow tasty cheese with the red onion and roasted capsicum. An ice cream shop adjoins the building; I think they are both linked under Oscars.

Looking for that perfect dining place with breathtaking views in the Hunter Valley? I highly…read morerecommend Epicure Café. This café is nicely nestled and hidden amongst nature's beauty. There are both indoor and outdoor covered terrace dining areas, overlooking a large dam. We wanted something simple, yet delicious for lunch, and as a family we selected the good ol' fish 'n' chips. But our dish wasn't your ordinary fish and chips that you would buy at your local fish 'n' chips place, this was cleverly accomplished with a twist of sophistication to tantalise your taste buds. But let me start from the beginning. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly waitress there immediately and showed us to our table - we were impressed with the table size as well, wide enough and comfortable for plates and arm room. We started with warm sour dough bread that included extra virgin olive oil, home-made dukkah and caramelised balsamic - ever so delicious, love warm bread. A perfect start, that commonsense tells you that you wouldn't be disappointed with lunch. Okay, our fish 'n' chips arrived, served irresistibly on a plate - three decent sized fish fillet pieces covered in herb and white wine batter with aioli and French fries cooked to perfection! The batter was so light and crispy and dipping it into the creamy aioli gave that impact I was looking for! We also had a very tasty salad on the side - the taste was so fresh and appearance was so colourful with your tomato and cucumber pieces, red onion sliced finely, and your green leafy lettuce (local produce) in a beautiful vinaigrette dressing. The chef even made time to come out to see if we were satisfied with our dishes - I never had that happened to me before! The meal filled us up, we couldn't go for desserts. However, there is a variety of cakes displayed inside a glassed refrigerator within the dining area taunting you to choose if you have enough room - all homemade of course. This café is a must to dine at if you're looking for a delightful, delectable, delicious lunch with amazing views. Or perhaps breakfast or a cuppa coffee or tea with a piece of their homemade cakes? Opened 7 days from 9am to 5pm. I highly recommend this café for couples, families or friends - great food, great service with amazing views and relaxing atmosphere.
