I usually don't write reviews, but I felt like I had to for this case as she is incredibly expensive and many of the other reviews are from the parents rather than the students themselves. For college admissions, I believe the most important thing is to be yourself. Maybe Patti has had a lot of experience in her field, but with this comes some very cliche and often overused stories. The message she put behind her stories often made me cringe and her writing is no better than any 6th grader. Although I did get into my dream school (top 25 in the US), it had nothing to do with Patti. If you're a parent looking to find a consultant for your child, look somewhere else or have your child's friends peer review his or her essay. It is a lot more efficient and less pricy. read more

Patti is absolutely tops. I used her services when applying to graduate school in international relations. My undergrad was in engineering and I was making a career change, and so had to convince the schools I was the right choice despite my undergrad experience being somewhat of a curveball. We had a pretty good idea about what schools we were interested in, so we did not take advantage of her knowledge in that area. But Patti was very helpful in confirming our choices and dividing the schools from safe to target, balancing our expectations. She provided us with useful resources and advice to help help us list and evaluate the schools we were considering with reference to specific, relevant datapoints: class size, GPA and test scores of admitted students, cost, specific course of study, etc. Most important was Patti's manner of keeping us on message, meeting deadlines, and working to assist my son to articulate what he wanted to say in his essay.
