The lasers themselves are very up to date and the technicians have a very in-depth background. In terms of prices, they are affordable in the sense that you can pay it off in installments. Overall it's a great clinic, I would recommend it to anyone - especially those who feel insecure, undecided or who may have certain medical conditions, like myself. My elderly mother started to come into Watford General, a lot from the start of the covid…read morepandemic. She would come into the hospital with a small urine infection, otherwise okay in herself, and then weeks later, still there with delerium and it did not get bette,r till I got her back home. Care for her in this hospital ,was not always what I would have liked for my elderly loved one. I was her full-time carer and managing her syptoms well in her home. We tried to avoid the hospital ,because so many times , mum actually got worse in there. She would go in for one thing, urine infection, pace maker and weeks later still stuck there suffering with delerium. During july 2023 we had to give in , and take her down with chronic hypoxia symptoms. Quickly dispelled from resus, she was admitted in with a urine infection and after a week almost sent home without treating the Hypoxia. I so wish I had just taken her home but I was trying to help her get the seizures sorted out. She begged me to take her home as the staff were tipping her up and down in the bed and her stats were all over the place. Her time was up after a month and They sent her to a care home against her and my will, and in the care home they were woefully inept at managing her symptoms and at some point she started to a point of no return. Left in the bed on her own, fed food lying down ,when she had a hiatus hernia. She was physically sick and never could eat or drink again. Admitted back into A and E. The stroke unit refused to see her, and she had a massive stroke,whilst being injected with fluids. I saw it all happening, and it was as if she was being excecuted. The drs on the ward that day surrounded me, and stopped me being with her in her last breaths. They asked, what did your mother come in for originally? They were clearly frightened. So I now have ptsd from that day. Questions-why did the hospital send my mother to a care home who couldnt look after her? Why did the nurses on the ward not manage her hypoxia better? I am quite happy to blame Watford hospital but I blame myself more for sending her to you.

I was quite shocked, as I have been living in the UK for so many years now and this is the first time that this has happened to me. I believe that the fact that I am not originally English gave them the right to assume that I did not have any knowledge of the English language and that I required an interpreter during my visit. I would also like to point out that I did actually graduated in Interpreting and Translation myself in my home country and I honestly find such behaviour from the hospital staff quite concerning and offensive. The doctor who visited me was also incredibly rude and patronising; when I refused to take off my clothes as she asked me, as I only wanted some of my body parts to be examined during the visit, she kept making nasty remarks and wasn't even paying attention to what I was saying. In the end the doctor told me I was "free to escape" (using these exact words), which I found totally inappropriate. After this bad experience, I genuinely hope I will never come across that doctor again.

Appointments can be made online and the whole waiting-room process is automated through a check-in system. Nurses and staff I've interacted with are more than pleasant, chatty and personable but fully professional. Seems like all the staff I've interacted with are happy, far from disgruntled, and that tends to make for happy patients too!

I'm not going to comment about individual services - with the NHS it can be entirely down to who you are due to see, about what and when. So, instead I'll concentrate on the facilities available and access: The hospital is served by at least 5 buses, but only the 261 and R1 actually enter the grounds. Most ward visiting hours tend to be 2-4pm and 6-8pm, though the nursing staff are pretty flexible if you give 'em advance warning. Visitors are pretty well catered for: there is a coffee bar and restaurant open during daytime hours, a newsagent which stays open longer and various vending machines. Tip: Finding a parking space at peak times is enough to give you a coronary however (as do the charges), so I recommend using the Sainsbury's car park next door. The hospital is pretty quick to get to from most places, as it is on the A21.

Poor service. I…read morewent to the urgent care centre and was very disappointed with the service I'm 17th weeks pregnant and was experiencing a lot of pain and feeling generally unwell. I was also worried about my unborn child. The dr that I saw was so pantronising. And spoke down to me as thou I had wasted her time, and was suggested that my pain was just due to growing pains! Please I dont choose to want to sit for two hours on my only day off to be told this. It turned out that I had uti. I asked the dr if she could check the baby's heartbeat as I was concerned she advised that they didn't offer this service due to patient misuse (which she was directing at me)!!! I have worked for the NHS for 18 years. And have never been so disappointed with the service.

Dad had district nurses coming out daily to set up his feed up, he'd had a bad stroke a few years ago which affected his swallowing so he had to be peg fed. So many doctors and nurses had seen my dad but they didn't refer him to an oncologists until it was too late, he passed away 1st October 20016! There's a lot more to this, but obviously too long to put in review.
