I love this place. Clean and great service. I brought my Chanel (lhaso apso) 4 month old puppy here for an all over cut. I came in and the place was packed. Yelp had a check in for a free coffee which drew me here to check it out. I called ahead to make sure they would do a full body cut on my puppy because the other places like Petsmart I called would not give her a full cut "so early" because it might "traumatize" them. Anyway, I know my Chanel and I didn't believe in all that. Finally, I found a place that would take off all that long hair so she wouldn't be so hot in the summer! Prior to taking her to the back, they show you a display of how short you want the dog hair and I picked a length a few levels from the shortest. As usual, I was a bit nervous leaving my dog somewhere for the first time and coming back to get her 4-5 hours later. I very rarely do it, but when I came back to pick her up, I could tell she was so happy and wow, she had the cutest short puppy cut! The worker there told me that all the workers in the back played with her the whole time and they absolutely loved her which means she got lots of attention, which makes me happy. It was also Halloween and they let me pick from a variety of different bows, which were soooo cute (see pics posted). Prices are a bit higher than other places, but you get what you pay for! I am extremely picky about all things related to my pup, and we absolutely LOVE coming to Perk-n-Pooch for our baths/grooms. We've seen many different groomers here, and the treatment and service we receive has always been superior to any other dog groomer we've visited. Any time I haven't been 100% happy, they've always touched him up with no issue at all. They've always been patient when we've run late, always call before he's ready so I can shoot over rather than have him wait for me in a crate, and leave ask questions if they're unclear about what I want. I also really love that whoever is grooming him always comes out at the beginning and at the end - so it's not like they're just whisking the dogs off which wouldn't feel comfortable to me as a nervous dog mom. It's also adorable and super convenient that they have a delicious coffee shop upfront where I can work/caffeinate while my little one gets pampered. They tend to book up quickly online, but whenever I call they always remember who we are and exactly what his grooming needs are, and can often fit us in before the first available opening shown online. There are a ton of dog groomers between where we live in Brookhaven and here, but we'll never go anywhere else! Last thing: I LOVE that they offer you the option to choose the scarf they put on at the end rather than just picking for you and leaving you with something you won't use again! As far as I'm concerned, the people here walk on water. One of my dogs gets Chemo at a nearby vet. Once before, I brought her here for a bath. I was satisfied and planning on coming back. Fate intervened. This time, I had all 3 furbabies, when one suffered a "blowout", so to speak. I recalled they were nearby, so I decided to go and throw myself at their feet and beg for mercy. Why I love this place and will never go anywhere again! 1.) They do an awesome job. I have two German shepherds and when I pick them up they look and smell great and stay that way for quite sometime. And I'm not talkin about the fake perfume some groomers put on dogs to give the appearance of them being clean, but my dogs are super clean, nice and fluffy. 2.) The price can't be beat! I pay 1/2 the price I used to pay for my old groomer and they do twice as good a job. 3.) They are fast and convenient. Although I've only been there twice, both times I have called them to see if they could squeeze me in on the same day and they did. Plus I just drop them off, run a few errands and a little over an hour to an hour and half they call and are ready to be picked up. I used to have to leave my dogs an entire day at my other groomers. 4.) the staff is friendly! They seem to genuinely care about your dogs and love hearing how they did :) plus for valentines day they put my boy in a bow tie and my girl in a red bandana with hearts on it when I came to get them. WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS! My family and I have been loyal Perk N Pooch customers for 6+ years. We have recommended this place time and time again, but after what I just went through, we are officially done. I took my dog of 5+ years to get groomed in July and was taken to a room to meet with the groomer and discuss what I wanted. Per usual, I told the groomer "how about what he usually gets" and was told DISRESPECTFULLY they did not have it on file. I perceded to tell them who my dog usually gets groomed by, and they left to ask. The person who came with me was just as taken back as I was and made sure to tell the groomer when she came back to "please write down what he gets done, so they have it in their files for next time." I left that day completely in shock, as I'd never experienced this before, and was even told by the person I was with that I needed to find a new groomer from the way I was treated. Fast forward three months and here we are today. My mom had scheduled all of her dogs, including mine, to get groomed months in advance and my dog really needed to get his haircut. I took him into PNP about an hour ago (he has NEVER gone anywhere since he was a puppy, getting groomed every 3 months or so) to get groomed and again was asked to sit in a room to speak with the groomer. Abbie, the groomer, walked in and with a smile I said hi! and not even saying hello back or giving me a smile says, "what do you want done." I let it go and said, "what he got last time, please" and was then told in the rudest manner, "he hasn't been here for a year." Taken back, I told Abbie he was just here a few months ago, and without saying a word, she left the room. I sat in shock for a few minutes, and then decided to walk out with my dog and speak to a manager. The woman at the front desk, whom has been there for as long as I can remember, told me she was a manager, and with tears in my eyes, I told her how upset and disrespected I was from Abbie. She asked me what had happened, and I told her EVERYTHING. I mentioned the business my family gives to PNP and even my mom forgiving the the one time she went to pick up one of her dogs from being groomed and leaving extremely disturbed after seeing another dog being hit MULTIPLE TIMES when getting bathed from one of their staff members. The manager stood asking what I wanted them to do, and I told her I didn't want them to do anything. I did however tell her that not only myself, but the many dogs in my family will NEVER EVER come back after being treated this way again. Take it from someone who truly loved a couple of groomers from this place, which is the reason my family continued to use them, DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE NO MATTER HOW MANY GOOD GROOMERS THEY HAVE! I took my Golden Retriever here for his first ever grooming appointment today and was really impressed with the entire process. When I made the appointment, they were super kind and professional on the phone. I brought him in and they greeted him with care immediately. The interior is super clean and cute. They were very attentive and took the time to understand what I wanted. I felt totally comfortable leaving him there. He was ready in about 2.5 hours, which worked great. When I went to pick him up, they brought him out pretty quickly. He looked very handsome and they even offered him a bandana. My only complaint is that they are pricey, especially with bigger dogs. Showed up at 1:59 and gave the gal at the front my phone number. Was then told that it was going to be 3 hours because of the other dogs in front. I expressed my confusion as we had a 2:00pm appointment. Apparently there were a lot of walk-ins, and they were being given priority despite our appointment. When I mentioned this I was told that the appointment system on the website isn't really a true system and is more there for the store to judge traffic. Well, my time was wasted. They did an excellent job on my yorkie, Diesel, and was extra gentle with him since his last grooming at Dee's Grooming Gallery wasn't so pleasant. They quoted me 30 and charged 95. They rushed thru it so much the easiest thing to do was just shave him with a 0 length... how horrifying. My baby's personality is now timid and scared and he's acting so much different. I have never ever been more disappointed in an establishment. We just took our Mosai in for a bath for the first and LAST time, we are very disappointed. They said everything was fine, but as soon as he came out he was still wet! He's a mastiff so there is not too much fur. They would charge extra to BLOW dry him so they did the towel dry, which an employee there said would be perfectly fine with his short coat. He still smells like a dog, he's wet, and he's whimpering. We are NEVER using y'all again. read more

Stopped by after a mini-vacation in Atlanta with the dogs. After a couple of days exploring the city (restaurants and parks) with the pups, they desperately needed a bath. We sipped hot tea and an ice coffee for the hour and a half it took for both our Husky and Great Dane. They were bathed one after the other. Cost is a bit pricy, but you're paying for quality service. The workers were super friendly and patient with our large dogs. Highly recommend this for a day of pampering or even just so you don't have to deal with clogged bath tubs. read more

I took my Siberian husky to Perk-N-Pooch at 5:30pm on a Saturday before a long holiday weekend. I knew my chances were slim seeing as they close at 6pm. Normally, I wouldn't have even gone so late but we were moving to a new apartment and my husky has been dealing with a flea issue. The last thing I wanted to do was bring her over to the new place with fleas! They declined my offer to pay extra for the wash, stayed late, and were very friendly to us. Big fan of this place... I noticed after picking my 4 month puppy up, she was very lethargic like she had been given some form of sedative. She was not as chipper/ active as she always is. It may have took an additional 30 minutes to wear off before she was back to her normal self. I brought my dog here due to the great reviews! We have been taking our dog in to see Natalie at Perk and Pooch for over 4 years now. Today I unfortunately missed our appointment, due to an emergency. I literally called an hour after our scheduled appointment and the young lady informs me that she has to charge me a rescheduling fee, it's their new policy that I knew nothing about. THIS IS OUR FIRST MISSED APPOINTMENT! I will no longer take my dog there, whoever Joe the owner is, clearly does not know how to do business! Our stylist was thorough with her examination of Teddy's coat, what's to be done, and how long to expect. As today's a Sunday, the place was quite busy and I was told it'd take a little longer than initially expected. We had yummy soft serve ice cream cones while waiting for Teddy to finish up. Well the prices are reasonable, and the wait time is not long at all. I do feel like if I don't go to the back and watch them wash and RINSE him , its not done very well at all. Twice my dog walked out of there with his feet still dirty. As soon as we leave my dog starts scratching immediately, NON-STOP. And then they are so generous to offer me a $4 discount when i bring him back 3 days later........STILL SCRATCHING. And bring your own shampoo. They only use a capful for each dog. From what I have SEEN. Coffee isn't fresh hot or even tasty for that matter. Basically, you get what you pay for. read more
