Good place for breakfast and brunch. Table Service is reasonably prompt. Menu has good range of options but on the trendy side. That said the food is good - on a weekend it is busy so may have to wait a while for the food to come out. My family like it - ticks the boxes - good choice and reasonable service and taste is as good as it look. A tad pricey but OK. read more

I have been to perks many times for breakfast I love their breakfast. I always go in wit my family my partner and our son who is 7 months we always take him in the pram, previously I have never had a problem before getting a seat and have my pram beside me. However today only George and I went for breakfast and I was asked to sit in the front door or leave my pram at the door. I don't understand why I was made feel like this when there was plenty of room available and I have taken my pram in plenty of times before. It's such a shame that two people have let the quality of service down for your business. read more

I remember when the Garden City Town Square first opened. What a great idea it was; suddenly after a long day of shopping you could venture outside, relax in the cafe setting and enjoy some food of substantially better quality than that you find in shopping centre food courts. This large, airy cafe is perhaps the last remaining unique spot left in the Town Square, as it has slowly been taken over by chains you see pretty much everywhere. Perks itself hasn't always inhabited the square, but they've moved into the promising spot with gusto and made it their own. My favourite thing about this place is the openness; it's a lofty space full of an assortment of tables and chairs, as well as people enjoying an after shop coffee or enduring business lunches. They also have a second hand book shop going on, with an entire wall on one side covered with book shelves housing volumes in remarkably good condition. While I love the setup itself, the food is nothing to write home about. Last time I went I ordered the bruschetta. It was very well presented but not the most delicious I've ever had. read more

A great menu, excellent coffee but the service was not up to scratch. We chose to have brunch after a morning shopping mission in Garden City. The venue has a great feel about it with a modern contemporary warm decor that makes you want to stop and rest your legs. The menu was really interesting for brunch with some delicious sounding Indian fusion flavours appearing throughout. You must check those out! Decisions were difficult to make as we sipped delicious Campos coffee but eventually our answers were locked in with the waitress. We had the corn and zucchini fritters plus poached eggs , also chosen was an Indian fusion spiced pumpkin dish with a poached egg. The meals were quick to arrive and just super delicious. 5 star flavours and excitement with each bite all round! Unfortunately not everything was at the standard I would expect. The contradiction to the food was the terrible service. They were not understaffed, they were not slow, they were just really inattentive. Zombie teenagers patrolling around looking bored and disengaged counting down the minutes. Getting the attention of someone was impossible when trying to order a second coffee! Eventually I got the coffee order in, but then it was delivered and squeezed onto the small table next to the empty mug I had previously consumed a great coffee from. The lack of observance from the waitstaff was moronic at best. The cramped table space and our attempt to makeshift our own room resulted in a knife falling to the floor and making a big noise. The zombie teenagers waiting continued to look busy without blinking an eye.... we waited for assistance, a proactive offer of a clean knife, perhaps someone picking up the dirty knife.... NOTHING. In the interest of public safety we collected the dropped knife. In the interest of completing our meal with a clean knife we stole one from neighbouring table without being at all discreet about it. Nobody seemed to notice! Had the food or coffee not been 5 star and categorically average this review would have been quite poor. If the owners or management team are reading this... seriously get your staff engaged and interested in doing their job rather than pacing around like mindless zombies looking busy. read more

Refurbished!!! Perks Deli Cafe at Westfield Garden City is now Perks Kitchen. I went there for breakfast early Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised. The grilled haloumi breakfast was delicious as was the coffee!! Staff were friendly and helpful and I am always impressed by Waiters & Waitress who remember your order without having to write it down. I would definitely go there again over the likes of Toscanis & Pancake Manor! read more

BE CAREFUL EATING HERE!!!!! I would have thought that a cafe with breakfast service would serve a standard bacon and eggs. I ordered bacon and eggs with mushrooms and on paying the account was amazed I had been charged for eggs on toast ($12) then stung another $5 for two bits of bacon and $5 for 5 small mushrooms. Retailers wonder why they struggle for clientele and this is one reason why. You're a bloody rip off!!! read more

While a place like Perks wouldn't survive in a suburb like Paddington, Bulimba or West End, it does reasonably well in Upper Mount Gravatt, providing average, convenient food from breakfast to late night coffee. While I'd be mad to go here for lunch or dinner (meals range from $20 -$30 and are pretty ordinary), I do come here for an occasional coffee or breakfast. The last time I came here for breakfast though, I got a couple of slices of waifish, soggy toast - just like the cheap bread at Woolworths. It's not a big deal but I love getting thick slices of white bread for brunch. It's a dining out indulgence along the same lines as getting to use liberal amounts of butter and cream to fluff up the scrambled eggs. Since then, I haven't gone back for breakfast but I do occasionally cave and duck in for an ice chocolate or coffee and cake. Located right in the middle of Garden City, it is just too convenient sometimes to resist. read more

I was very excited to see the new food shops added to Garden City. Thought I'd try this one, On first experience the meal presentation is fantastic, customer service was awesome and meal was a real treat. I felt like this was my new secret quite place to enjoy a meal. 1 week later I was back and 2nd time around was a much different story, very busy and noisey, yet the staff didn't help like the first time. I ordered a coffee and a breakfast about 48 Minutes in I get my coffee, 25 minutes later my meal arrives and I wasn't given a spoon and waited a longtime to ask for one. As a result my meal was cold and I ended up getting a headache as it was crowded and noisy. They don't work well under pressure, but when it's not busy i'm sure you will be looked after. A great one for coffee and breakfast, haven't tried much else although many meals look pleasing to the eyes. read more

The new renovated perks have lifted their game to another level. They open at 7am to satisfy the early birds like myself during the week. Perks make a great coffee using Campos coffee. Breakfast is pretty good and can accommodate most off menu requests. Will def be back to try lunch and dinner soon. read more
