We arrived early for our tour and we were welcomed by the family and offered delicious lavendar water and use of the bathrooms. We had a nice chat with one of the sisters who spoke good English and we tried our best to speak Spanish. When it was time for our tour our English speaking interpreter arrived along with our tour guide. It was just us four on the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about all of the agave plants on site and explained the families mission and process of mezcal making perfectly. She was kind and smart and made the tour very interesting. The interpreter was wonderful was well. Not only did he translate well he filled in any gaps and added some information as well. The tasting portion was in the bottling room was very pretty. We were given a selection of 5 different mezcals that were explained very well by our guide. Each one unique in flavor and delicious. We purchased two bottles and some homemade goards to drink from. This was of the most informative tours we have ever been on and highly recommend.

Came to this distillery with Oaxaca by Locals. We saw the beautiful agave farm. Our guide went…read morethrough the entire process of how mezcal is made which was fascinating. Then we went to the really fun part of the tastings. There are no limit to the tastings. We literally tasted everything. The mezcals were good. We all bought a few bottles to take home with us.

I visited as part of an all-day tour. It was the last stop, so I was mildly sleepy by that point, but their spirits livened me right up. I bought so much to go too. Happy to support a local spot! They were *generous* with their tastings and so friendly. I loved the mezcal with the worm (ha) as well as the passion fruit and cappuccino blends. I bought an airplane bottle of agave syrup to go too after trying that - yum!
This is a mezcal distillery that I visited on a tour with the company Oaxaca by Locals. They gave…read moreus a brief tour of the facility in English and allowed us to try some mezcal biproducts like agave syrup. After the tour, we tasted four mezcals and maybe a dozen or so fruticremas and liqueurs. All of the mezcals we tried were super smooth although fairly low ABV (35% for the aged ones and 38% for the blanco). They had some snacks for us to nibble on as a palate cleanser as well. I didn't love the fruticremas with the exception of the café; the rest tasted pretty artificial. Prices are HIGH. I saw the same products being sold even in other tourist locations like Mercado Benito Juarez for about half of the price. Even though you may be tempted to buy after getting a little buzzed at the tasting, you can easily save by waiting to return to el Centro before buying. Overall it was a fun experience but i definitely felt pressured to buy overpriced mezcal after the tasting.

I ordered a pizza to go with my local craft beer and was incredibly disappointed. The pizza was not good, but the breadiness helped soak up the beer so I could try two different pints. The beer itself was ok. I wouldn't say it could ever be my "go-to" beer, but it's definitely worth a shot. Try it. What'll it hurt?
