Lovely hotel that is perfectly located in Kinsale. The room was just lovely. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was pretty fabulous compared to others we have had in Ireland. We prefer top floors and were upgraded to the top floor junior suite. This room would definitely not be an option if you have troubles with stairs. After taking the elevator up to the 3rd floor, there is another flight of stairs.
Cons:
The elevator is just horrible. I can't figure out why a brand new appearing lift is so incredibly slow. It takes about 2 minutes to go 3 floors.
Keys/door bell - Yes it is quaint, but kind of annoying to drop off the key every time you leave the hotel. Hence, when you return you have to wait for your key to be retrieved. If they are busy, this can take a while. Also, again quaint, but annoying is you have to ring a bell to be let in after like 9 pm. This is not a small inn, there are over 30 rooms.
Carpets - Bring slippers! The carpets are very hard. They are rope like twine and are rough on the feet.
With all this being said, we would definitely stay here again if ever back in the area. read more
