This is a beautiful BnB right on the main road through Kinsale. This makes parking a trick, but if…read moreyou can find parking on the street in front, you can stay there all night if you pay the meter past 630pm. The facility was well cared for and nicely decorated. Check in is actually on the second floor in the reception office, unless they arent there, then you have to go down the street to the Blue Haven to check in. The carpet was so plush that the wheels on our roller bags would barely roll..lol. Our room was huge and inviting with great touches like bottles of water, towel warmer, and a deep large tub. Our room key was attached to a LARGE key ring which was uncomfortable to carry and the door handle was only for show, which took a minute to figure out. The elevator was tiny, but very much appreciated! The cafe downstairs had a good selection of breakfasts for guests and they made sure to address guests before walk in customers. This place was a real treat and we would love to stay here if we make it back to Kinsale.

We all checked out an evening early. Our friend's room was refunded for the second night, ours was not. We had no transportation without our friend's vehicle, so we could not stay the second evening either. Would not recommend staying here or the Blue Haven, its sister hotel. Very poor customer service. Never replied to my emails about this situation.

We were traveling from Galway to Kinsale and among many…read moresetbacks, primarily our clutch going out and we had to wait for our rental car to be replaced. We ran late by 3 hours for their check in time, as Americans, none of us had a phone service since we were driving through the country and felt we'd have no issues as we were staying at a hotel. We showed up, as it was pouring outside, and she let us in and treated us as if we were intentionally inconsiderate and kept telling us that we were at fault for not checking in at the correct time (mind you it's between the hours of 4-7 pm). We admitted our mistake, apologized and she reluctantly went and got our rooms ready, she brought us to our rooms and then saw our phones, to which she pointed out we could have used them (we couldn't) and began yelling at us and asking us if we thought she was stupid because we had our phones, she then asked us to leave when we told her we felt uncomfortable and then refused to let us stay there or refund our money. At 11 pm at night, we were forced to drive to another city (Cork) to which we were beautifully relocated. She is a horrible host and if you're not a 45-65 years old and a white person, you will completely be treated as a subhuman.

Decided to go to Kinsale for a last-minute trip and looked for a place on booking.com. Most…read moreeverything close to the city was full so we booked at the K Kinsale. We arrived and a young guy greeted us and who was very friendly. And overpowering smell of animal urine hit us the minute we walked in. The kid gave us our keys and we went to the room and when we open the door there were a bunch of framed pictures piled up on the bed and around the room. We notified him and he said sorry, I will give you a different room. He gave us another key and when we open that door the beds in the room were covered in boxes and Christmas decorations. It look like a storage room. He apologized again and asked if we could wait downstairs while he cleaned a room. I went back online and found that a room had opened up at a hotel near the city center. About 10 minutes have gone by and I yelled up to him that it smelled like animals and that my wife allergies were picking that up and that we would stay at a different place. He apologized and asked if it was more expensive. I told him yes and he said he would reimburse us for the difference. A very nice fellow. About a month later I had not heard anything back and sent a note to the owner. She responded that the employee was new and shouldn't have offered us a refund. Then told us we don't owe you anything and we chose to leave. I suggest if all of the hotels are full in Kinsale, you are better off finding a homeless person and renting his urine soaked sleeping bag before staying in this dump.

The bed is very comfortable and I imagine the rooms that have views of the water are great but we did not have the room with a view :-( the shower was a bit weak and our room was quite cold as it was a cold night outside and the heater was not working hard enough to warm the room up sufficiently. Breakfast was alright although on the first morning we were served mouldy soda bread :-( all in all the food was good but nothing to write home about. We would come back here again and stay. The owners are lovely people and the house is in a very quiet location. Kinsale itself is a gorgeous town that I would return to without hesitation any time.

In our opinion, Landfall House would fit right in here in California. Our room was large and well appointed and had a fantastic view of the river Bandon, probably the best view from a hotel room we've had in a very long time (see the photo we uploaded). The bathroom was clean and functional, though just a little small (seems to be the case in Ireland). Breakfast was awesome. We had our choice of several dishes. We tried smoked salmon & eggs, crepes with fresh fruit, and of course the full Irish. All were worth having again. Location is great, just a few blocks away from downtown Kinsale. We walked into town one night for dinner, and though a decent hike, it's certainly not difficult. Finally, we should mention that Margo was very attentive and warm. She is more than willing to have a conversation and to suggest things to do in the area. She was awesome.
