The wine selection is superb. And by the way did I mention desserts? They were absolutely fantastic as well. There are many restaurants in Cancun near to the touristy areas. In my opinion, most of these are expensive and bad. This is off the beaten track, but well worth the effort. We had a car so it was easy for us to arrive. They did offer valet parking for 50 pesos. I thought that worked well and was worth the money as this is kind of in a residential area with limited parking.

Okay, so the food was unironically delicious, with some amazing seafood options that you can't…read moremiss. It's definitely on the more upscale side of things and most of the menu is in Spanish and service was all in Spanish but you should be able to get what you want. The ambiance is a slightly dimly lit bar and the food prices are definitely higher than most places here but it's worth it. Tostada de atun (Tuna Tostada): 10/10 Very good fish. Has a very steak-like texturre and delicious. Quesadilla langosta (Lobster Quesadilla): 10/10 Lovely! My friend ordered it and it was fantastic. Price is fairly high since it's more upscale but was creamy and meaty. Raviolli Langosta (Lobster Ravioli): My friend ordered 4 Tacos but since most of them had shrimp and I'm allergic I didn't have those, but it was good according to them. Overall, lovely place, food was good and highly recommended!

If you're looking for souvenirs from shot glasses to leather bags this is where you want to be. You…read morecan even have breakfast, lunch or dinner in the same location. I ate at El chipilin, a small family owned restaurant in the back area where the vendors are less pushy. I had the Costilla De puerco frita ( fried pork ribs with tacos, black beans, lettuce salad ) . The service at the restaurant was friendly. Dealing with the vendors while walking through the market can be overwhelming as they can be pushy to purchase from them, politely decline and keep walking .

Not a fan. Not actually easy to get to (if you take the wrong bus from the Hotel Zone). We took the…read moreRed #2 / local (no AC bus) and quickly discovered it was more local than tourist. The bus was packed with locals heading home from working in the hotel zone, so it was nearly impossible to alert the bus driver to stop...so we were dropped off a mile from our original planned stop. Thanks Google/Apple Maps for getting us to Mercado 28. Not fun! I'm guessing the orange bus (that we took to parque de las palapas) has a more direct route. Once we found our way there, it's the park of visiting these type of venues I hate. All the vendors are attempting to get you into their little shop, sometimes quite aggressively...and there are many small shops in the aisles/corridors of Mercado 28. So that aspect is not fun in the least. Then comes the next step, trying to get a good price on something you might be interested in. Know your peso conversions! They'll start extremely high, so you have to haggle. My daughters BF was buying a "drug rug" hoodie for a relative. It started at roughly $80 US. After quite a bit of time going back and forth, he finally got the price down to $35 (and that still seemed high ... for me at least, knowing I had one of these 40+ years ago and it was like $10, lol). I bought two hats from this same vendor and the haggling was nearly as exhausting. It started out for like $65 for the two hats, but we finally got to a price I was happy with. Something positive to say? There are many, many vendors selling goods (many of which are the same, but there are quite a few unique shops). If you love haggling, this is the place for you. Odds are you may get a better price than what you can find in the hotel zone. There are also many food vendors, but they're pushy too so we just decided to walk the half mile (maybe more like 1 mile) to parque de las palapas for our meal. We also knew where to get the bus back to the HZ from Palapas, unlike from Mercado 28 where we had to hike in from parts unknown.

Fish Market Mar-Bella Raw Bar Grill - The amazing seafood fried rice. I'm almost admitting it's worth the $54 but I'm in Mexico!!! Delicious but totally overpriced

The ceviche was a little over $40 and the seafood fried rice was a bit over $40. I hate it when places like this take advantage of foreigners. The fried rice however, was the best I've ever tast

This would never fly in a normal business setting: - NO PRICES, not even incorrectly written or changed - YOU SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW how much anything you are ordering costs! And let me tell you - $40 for guac and chips; $40 for ceviche; $25 for a very small serving of cheesecake. - the fish is sold by weight (even though they prepare it), so you don't actually know how much you will pay for your order in terms of money per unit of food. Now, we had a great server, very attentive and kind. His name was Vlad. I couldn't be happier with his attitude towards us. We also truly enjoyed everything we ordered (chocolate clams were SUPER FRIESH and large; blue fin and hamachi sashimi were outstanding, and even guacamole and chips were above average. I must say - the cheesecake, too, was fantastic. The view and the atmosphere were lovely as well. And had we known the prices, and not were surprised by a $300 USD tab (yes, the server requests for you to add a tip on top of the bill), I would still eat there, but knowingly. And I must say - I'd enjoy my food even more, most likely. P.S. we didn't have any drinks, not even water (we weren't offered any). We didn't have alcohol. Our order was: 12 chocolate clams; 6 pieces of blue fin; 3 pieces of hamachi; 6 prawns; 1 guacamole with shrimp; 1 ceviche; 1 order of cheesecake. Total: $5987 pesos
