This was the best meal I had in Guanajuato. My only regret was finding it in my last night in this…read moremarvelous city. I had fish tacos on special. 3 x 50. I was a bit skeptical for 2 reasons. 1) the fish was deep fried - not how I've had them in San Diego and 2) they didn't seem to offer any pickled accompaniments - no jalapeños or limes.
The waiter said to just use their homemade green sauce instead.
I did - as well as some other sauces on the counter (mayonnaise and chili).
This was a great opportunity to go outside the comfort zone of the familiar and try something new.
The fish was super fresh - the flavor and moisture were highlighted by the crunch of the thin outer layer of flour. So, they didn't feel or taste bready the way some batter fried fish can.
It's a super casual and friendly place and you can have a beer or soda with your meal. Wonderful tasty fresh dinner with bev for about 65$. Go!
They also serve seafood burgers - which look more like what we gringos call croquettes. Don't be scared - go for it.
