Pasta Mollicata, bucatini with a wonderful sauce
Steve R.

Absolutely delicious pasta! We had the bucatini with a red sauce and it was very flavorful and filling- wife and I split it along with a serving of tiramisu which was spot on , very light! Our new go to spot in Hood River.

Pesto $18

A food truck almost hidden in the Treebird Market corner, Pesco has brought quality Italian to Hood River. Loved that the owner welcomes you in a professional chef's jacket as it shows she is serious about her passion. The pasta ~ each dish was cooked perfectly al dente. Flavors authentically matched true Italian cuisine. Seasoned just right. Menu changes regularly, so check website for the fresh sheet. Seating ~ picnic table or eat in vehicle. The drawback of eating in the parking lot is that the gravel dust is kicked up by other cars or wind gusts. *Call ahead ~ entrees made from scratch and so prep takes a longer time that the passerby traveler can afford.

Focaccia

Food is DELICIOUS, and the owner (I think?) is SO kind and offered a sample of what we were considering ordering. We ordered the duck ragù, gnocchi with marinara, focaccia, and mashed potato fritters, and everything was great. We'll be back!

Still dreaming about the lamb/veggie entree with pasta added. Ate 2 days in a row, would keep going and going given the opportunity.

10 stars! Was so delicious, ran back the next day. Special shout out for the lamb veggie dish, which wasn't a pasta on the menu itself, but when talking to her about the menu and that I was looking for a pasta dish ideally, she explained that pasta can be added to this pasta dish. She proceeded to offer sampling of the various pasta sauces. She is incredibly genuine, passionate about her customers enjoying their meal, and so humble and hospitable. Wish I wasn't from out of town so I can eat here nearly daily. The lamb pasta made you enjoy and savor every bite, so tender, perfect sauce flavor, al dente fresh pasta, just perfection. The menu changes monthly on the 15th.

Always delicious food and definitely worth the price. Elizabeth is an amazing chef and I look forward to the menu changes every month. Eat at Pesco, you won't be disappointed!

Peppers & Onions (w/ anchovies)
EB C.

So thrilled to discover this gem in Hood River! Everything was 5 star! We ordered the focaccia (best I've ever had), peppers and onions, the beef over polenta (like you'd get at a pricey place in NYC) and a fabulous tiramisu (sorry can't recall the official Italian names!) They were all legit amazing!! The only item we wouldn't order next time was the peppers and onions due to the anchovy presence that was a little too much for us. Cannot wait to try more items next time we are in town! Side note...the little market in the same parking lot is AMAZING and has beer, wine, and other goodies to enjoy with your Pesco meal.

I had the Pasta Cremosi Al Peperoni Rossi. Top shelf pasta, delicious red pepper crème sauce and plenty of fresh basil. Very nice :)

We didn't order much since we were expecting it to be just okay, but everything exceeded expectations. The flavors were on point and definitely left an impression. This is the kind of spot you make a mental note of, the best pork belly burnt ends! We'll absolutely be stopping by again whenever we're in the area.

It's worth every dollar....EVERY.DAMN.TIME!! Today we got the beef cheeks (deliciously tender and fatty), 2 types of smoked sausages, pork burnt ends, the BEEF RIB (to die for), and for sides we got Mac n cheese, and the brisket birria baked beans. About $120 all in. Nice being able to grab a few beers while we waited in line at Ruse Brewing. The food, grasslands bbq community, and the good vibes are really something special and worth the wait. We are blessed in the NW. 10/10 I'd recommend them to anyone visiting Oregon.

I got a meal with Vietnamese (shrimp) and Korean (pulled pork). The Vietnamese taco was suuuper good, flavorful mayo. Had to get past the idea of rice on a taco and then enjoyed myself thoroughly. The pulled pork didn't match the flavors of the Korean taco as well; I think next time I'd get tuna on the Korean taco. The servers were quick and friendly, and the space had fun decorations and efficient, though small, layout.

We ended up coming back the next day without hesitation for 2 days of tacos in a row and I'd return in a heartbeat if ever back in Hood River. These tacos are addictive! With their mix-and-match fusion menu, your taco of choice can really taste any way you like. The Hawaiian taco with grilled shrimp was my favorite, but I also enjoyed their Thai taco with chicken. I wish I could have tried all of them as everything featured good, fresh ingredients. Don't skip the drinks here either. I usually avoid cocktails but they offered to make their frozen margarita spicy for me and I couldn't resist -- fantastic! The service was over-the-top amazing. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter, seat yourself with a number, and wait for your food to be delivered. Service at such establishments is usually pretty perfunctory, but not at Love & Hominy. The servers are all super friendly and seem genuinely enthusiastic to be working in their restaurant. That in itself says a lot. As mentioned, this place is casual but still fun and eclectic. While eating your tacos in-house, check out the wall on the entrance side. It's pretty entertaining to look at.
