The two owners used to sell their pasta out of Tornatores restaurant but now they have their own shop. While I was there the owner was making gnocchi. They offer so many types of fresh pasta starting at 5.95 and I wanted to buy one of every variety. They offer about 6 or 7 kinds of ravioli. They have containers of made in house marinara (7.95) and meat sauce so you can purchase everything you need to cook up a pot of pasta. For dessert they have tiramisu, pistachio and ricotta or Torta Della Nonna by Bindi. The frozen pizza has unique toppings. I bought the zucchini and at home the pizza baked up to perfection. The pizza was thin and the crust came out crunchy. I loved it. I also bought a tray of lasagna that was frozen. You let it defrost a little and then bake it in the oven. So easy to make and so good. The store offers items in frozen and refrigerated cases and shelves of a few Italian cooking staples. The couple that owns this store are so friendly, happy to explain anything and excited to have their own store. I like that you can buy authentic restaurant quality food at Supermarket prices. Check the weekly hours as they are open certain days and right now close at 3 pm.

However, for the sake of happy hour, I ordered the Cetriolo and my husband ordered a negroni bianco. The cetriolo was light, refreshing, heavy on the cucumber, and overall the perfect summer cocktail. And the negroni was smooth and sophisticated. As a starter, we ordered the meatballs (because you didn't go to prato if you didn't order them) and the Piccante Dolce to balance. The meatballs are always such a classic 10/10 you have to get them. The Piccante Dolce was light and very balanced. As our mains, I ordered the Duck and Foie Gras Mezzaluna (mind you i'm typically a mustard spaghetti girl) and was VERY surprised! It was a great portion, not too heavy, and absolutely delicious! My husband got the Chicken Saltimbocca and demolished the entire thing. It's safe to say he was a fan. Because it was my birthday, I was offered a free dessert from their menu. The Cheesecake with peach compote was incred. She wasn't too sweet and a great sized portion for 2 people. Our server, Alexandra, was the SWEETEST. She was so attentive and had such a great attitude. She offered to take pictures of us, and really made our day. Next time we come, we will be requesting to sit in her section.

As you walk in there's a large bar with a decent amount of seating, and to the right a mix of tables. Take on the limited outdoor seating at your own risk during Florida's storm season. I started with the Sunshine State cocktail. The gin cocktail was a little more lime forward than I prefer, but I'm still a fan! To follow it, I tried the Negroni Bianco. It was on the sweeter side and had a lot of floral flavor. The Bruschette Caprese has so much flavor, I couldn't get place if the tomatoes were marinated, but I loved it! For dinner I couldn't resist the house special, mustard spaghettini. It was creamy, and mustard marinated noodles the perfect balance. As you'd expect with the setting and price point, the service was professional and attentive.

It was nestled right in the downtown of Winer Garden. This felt like such a special place for a date night! The food was delicious! We started off with the bruschetta tomato and it was spot on. I love a classic bruschetta and it's hard to find one without cheese in the US (there were other options with cheese if that's your thing). I was so excited to order it and it did not disappoint. For our main entrees my husband ordered the pasta carbonara and I ordered my favorite pasta bolognese. WOW this is the best pasta bolognese I've found so far in the United States. The flavors brought me back to Tuscany and the pasta made in house was perfect! My husband enjoyed his dish but he is not as big of a fan of the large pieces of pancetta, but that is more of his own personal preference. We ended our meal with decaf espressos and dessert. My husband had the cannoli and I had the tiramisu. It was the best way to end our meal and we enjoyed every last bite. We are excited to come back and try some of the other dishes, the pizzas looked so yummy! Highlight: We had a table right in front of where they make their pasta. It was so cool to see it being made. My husband and I were mesmerized by the process.

The service throughout the meal was great. The food, however, was underwhelming. The bread was cold and dry. The bread was served with olive oil and it lacked flavor. We asked for balsamic and salt to add flavor to the oil and bread. For an appetizer, we ordered the classic bruschetta. It was very fresh but it needed salt. For my entree, I ordered the pesto pasta. While the pasta was freshly made, it was overcooked and mushy. The sauce was decent, but there was way too much salt. The pasta was also cold by the time it arrived at our table. The chef did send out complementary cheese with balsamic, which was appreciated. Overall, the food was overrated and it was expensive. I've spoken to friends that have also dined here and they agree. Bar Italia and Prato are much better options for Italian. If it wasn't for the excellent service, the star rating would've been lower.

It has such a strong local vibe and it is cool to see a mix of smaller vendors alongside some more well known food spots. That said there are a few things worth noting. First, seating can be a challenge. There is plenty of outdoor seating but not much indoors. The day we went it was pretty hot and sitting outside was not the most enjoyable experience at times. Second, I fully support spending money at local businesses but the tipping culture here felt a bit excessive. I bought a bag of coffee beans with no drink and was prompted for a tip. I spent $45 for 12 pieces of chocolates at Oban Chocolatier and was asked for a tip there too. Same thing when I spent about $25 on four cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse. I am happy to support but it started to feel like a lot in a not enjoyable way. Third, the hours between vendors can be a bit awkward. We came around brunch time which worked for some spots but others were not open yet. For example, Domu does not open until dinner (5PM) and Gyukatsu Rose was not opening until later in the afternoon (3 PM) Overall, I think this is a great place to check out especially if you enjoy trying a variety of local spots. Just plan ahead for seating and timing and be prepared for lots of tip prompts along the way.
