For years I ordered my animal food from chewy because they were cheaper but I ran out before my auto ship delivery and stumbled upon pet club. I haven't ordered from chewy since because pet club always has lower everyday prices. They always have what I need in stock and their staff are very friendly. Big store and big parking lot. Chewy.com, Amazon, PetSmart, Petco, specialty shops.... then one day, we just stopped here at Pet Club and discovered the best place to pick up much needed pet food in person. -- We have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and our fur babes are the only "children" that we foster. I try to research pet food labels and choose the best ingredients for their nutritional needs. We often joke that the furs probably eat better than we do! -- This location is very easy to find and located a short distance from the freeway. Hours are flexible and obviously social distance and wear a mask while shopping. -- I also asked "THE question" of, if you're called "pet CLUB" is there some rewards incentive or club program to join? Staff members informed me that, no, it's simply the name of the business and the prices are already reduced. -- I can attest to the prices being lower than most. I'm 27 and I've been going to this Pet Store since 2018 to buy my Cats treats, along with their food and litter each month. This is my go to store when I want peace and like to shop in a nice environment with not many people around. The owner has always greeted me, never looked at me funny or treated me wrong ever. Anytime he helped me at the cashier he either cracks a joke to spark a convo or just simply greets me with utmost respect. The lady that works there always asks me about my day and we joke about the Temptation snacks all the time. Disregard these comments cause I know these people. The owner/Manager is is TERRIBLE. My first visit was uncomfortable after I purchased some dog food and there is a bin by the door of small size trial bags of dog food and he watches to make sure I only took the allowed amount of free bags. After spending a lot of money on dog food, and he gets those bags for Free from the manufacturers, he should not have to watch closely. It's just uncomfortable. Today, August 18th I came back to buy a food container for my dog and he said, you have three minutes, we close at 7. Really? Clearly he does not need or want customers. People like this guy needs to be reminded about good customer service. As I was walking out, a man came up the door and of course the store is already closed, the Manager blocked the door and said, "We're closed." No, I'm sorry or if you want to quickly grab what you need... " nothing, clearly he lacks customer service skills or he just doesn't care. We just moved here from Pasadena and was looking for a pet store but, I will drive farther just to avoid giving this guy my business. There's plenty of other pet food stores in the area. read more

This place is amazing- they have so much, ill make sure to post some photos next time. I went in blind expecting minimal accessories for aquariums/reptiles, but they have a wide variety of tanks, cages, substrate, filters, soil(s), decorations (both artificial and live plants) and much more! And their prices are very reasonable compared to bigger chains such as petsmart or petco. A small fish tank that costs $30 at the previously mentioned was only $15 here, and the staff is helpful and friendly! Definitely recommend checking them out. read more

I came in here looking for allergy relief products for my dog. They have a variety of different brands and different products like pills, sprays, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. I picked one up with natural ingredients. The prices here are great and it's even cheaper than Walmart prices. Pet Club carries a lot of products that are not available at Petco or PetSmart and they have more variety and brands. Pet Club is cash and debit card only. read more

I would rate 0 stars. I paid for a fish that ended up being diseased and it was after a week that I noticed that he looked diseased. The lady said we can take the fish and put him in the pet hospital and take care of him but you can't get the fish back. So why would you tell me you can treat the fish and then tell me after you treat it I can't get it back? Sounds like a scam their running. And I paid 8.99 for it. And they don't refund after 7 days. I would never come here again. Petsmart has been more helpful with me and my fish. Never had any issues with them. I will stick to going to petsmart. I would not recommend coming here. read more

Went 3 weeks ago-- shortly after they opened & got the Arm & Hammer Kitty Litter - 20 lbs for $6.99-- fantastic as this wasn't even a sale price but their "regular" price when i asked how long the litter would be on sale. Went back today to buy more kitty litter & they've jumped the price up to $9.99--that's a $1/week increase since was last here! Nope left w/out buying anything & won't be going back. If they're going to keep jumping their prices up--they better start taking credit cards or they'll have no one in the store but the checkers till they wind up closing. read more

Can I just say I LOVE this place?! Their prices are great. I haven't found my cat and dog food (Inonly feed them Taste of the Wild) cheaper anywhere else and half the pet stores don't even carry it. The staff is always friendly and helpful, always great my pupp with a treat, and they don't seem to have a high turnover rate on employees which makes me happy. 3 out of 4 times I get the older lady as my cashier who is super friendly and helpful :) I went to the grand opening where I got a bunch of free stuff including an entire case of wet cat food and won some free dog food, now while neither were the brand I feed my animals I donated them to the SPCA and that benefits everyone :) thank you per club!!! Also they have low cost vaccines and microchips on the weekends!! I've never used this service but only because I work at a vets office lol. read more

I am SO HAPPY this store opened here. I used to shop at a competitor store but after less than satisfactory customer service, and skyrocketing prices I decided to no longer shop there. I found The Pet Club and I am oh so happy! We have a cat, 2 dogs and 2 geckos, so a good pet store is a must. Their prices are really good. I went and it seemed like everything I needed was on sale except the crickets. I bought 40 crickets for $2.00! I usually spend $7-$8 for the same amount. That's weekly too! The woman helping me with the crickets and mealworms was super friendly and helpful. I also found the dog food and cat food I usually have to order online, so no shipping fees or the 2 day wait. And I found it for cheaper..and guess what? 20% off. I'm super stoked at this. The ATM machine wasn't working so I had to go the gas station and get cash back to pay for my stuff. But, the guy at the register gave me an extra 10% off for the inconvenience, so I didn't mind a bit. That's excellent customer service. It's a little bit further from my house, but I will gladly drive here for all my pet supply needs. This is my home store now. Super pleased read more

Update to previous review - Unfortunately I don't come in here that often anymore. Once they ran out of the tendon chews and other items I was buying each week, they weren't interested in ordering more. I can understand that this was the owners decision and not the management here, but I was a little bummed that I had regularly purchased these items until they ran out and even though I wanted to continue to purchase them, they were not going to order more until they ran low on other product. I try to buy locally, but had to resort to purchasing these items online. Employees are still great and helpful, just bummed that they are not interested in keeping certain items in stock once they run out. read more

Umm... I'm not sure what experience the other people have had but I go here almost every week and have never had a bad one. The employees actually go out of their way to greet me and offer my dog treats (with my permission of course). They have a huge dog and cat selection... Only a couple of aisles for small critters, but a great reptile section. They have helped me solve numerous pet issues with my red eared sliders and my Alaskan. They also have this great program for the food I happen to buy my dog, Natural Choice nuturo, where you buy 11 bags of any size and get the 12th free. Awesome, since I'll be buying it either way. My dog lives the lamb and rice formula. At one visit, my dog had an accident in the store, and they quickly came and cleaned it up before I even realized it had happened. I was so embarrassed, but they were very nice about it and even helped me with some food questions I had. read more

For us it's all about the "price", that's the reason we shop here. Our puppy has been on the same brand of dog food (Avoderm), for the majority of his life, we researched and tested this brand and found it's the best for his breed. That said, it was just a matter of finding the best deal we could, and Pet Club came through, consistently, with the best price (anywhere from $5 to $10 less than other pet food retailers). We're lucky our dog is under 30 lbs., so a big bag lasts a few months, so we only need a few bags a year, otherwise, we'd find a supplier a little closer to home, since the Pet Club is a little inconvenient to our local. The place is clean and they have plenty of shopping carts to help transport those big bags. The employees I've encountered are competent but not overly friendly or pro-active, but I don't really give them too much of a knock for that, since I'm getting a good price, and they do position themselves as a "warehouse club", so I figure the customer service level is commensurate with the "class-of-trade". read more

I discovered this place a couple of years ago. Before that, I was going to Petsmart. I love this place! The prices on almost everything I purchase here is so much cheaper than any other place I've been. And customer service, so far has been outstanding. Today I returned a bag of dog food that was purchased accidentally. Unfortunately, I opened it before I discovered it wasn't the small breed Avo Derm that my dog is used to and loves. And of course, I shredded the receipt when I got home because I usually never take any thing back there. Well, I took this back and told the manager what happened and he let me exchange the food for the correct one and also use a 5.00 rebate! They're kind of cautious of exchange without a receipt, but I'm a regular customer, and they appreciate it. I actually drive farther to shop here, but it's worth it. read more

I wanted to thank Vince for helping me with my dog food choice. I thought I was buying the best I could but it turns out my dog was allergic to chicken and has been suffering from a rash for about 2 years. Honestly it sucks that I am giving them one star because I really want to like them. It's such a big store and you would think they would have what you need but it's very rare they keep their dog bully treat shelf's stocked. Not to mention they overcharge for SO many things. It's Insane that I can go to a boutique pet shop to get braided rings and SAVE money. I think it's because they price regardless of details. So the 1.4 oz fetchers braided ring is the same price as the 0.4 oz fetchers braid. I've brought this up several times while checking out and have been told each time "I'll have to check with my manager about that" it's clear nobody ever really checks as I've commented on it at least the past three times I've been in. Well today not only did they not have the bull braids OR the smaller bag of large breed puppy food I wanted but they AGAIN said they would have to talk to a manager about the ring. I didn't buy it today and quite frankly I don't know that I'll return. I'd rather make the drive down the street to the western feed store where sure I may pay a little more for some things but at least they will be stocked and own up to it when they price things wrong, not just sell it to me at the wrong price. My little puppy is my world and it just sucks when you find somewhere you think will be great and they just are always lacking. And I'm beyond done with the judgemental comments from the older woman cashier. She has something to say about how everyone cares for their pets and it always seems to be condescending. Wish things were different but for now I recommend the western feed store in gold river, the bens barketplace in roseville and Citrus Heights or Bark Avenue in Eldorado or rancho Cordova. I was very disappointed with the service here. Came here instead our usual pet store just because if convenience and to check it out. After noticing that the reptiles were not very well cared for we stood as the two employees carried on their personal conversation and waited for about 10 min to get someone to help us get crickets. Then another customer walked in and they walked to him and helped him get crickets. We should have been helped first as we were there waiting. After that we left the store with no purchase. Stopped in today for my first time. Great prices. Since this was my first visit, I didn't not know this store does not take credit cards. As I was being rung up, I noticed the ATM Only machine. I asked the cashier, if the store would be taking credit cards in the future. She responded in a way that made me feel dumb for asking. She continued to be snide and explain since the owners have 12 stores that do not take cards, they don't need too. Just like winco. I told the cashier I would not be purchasing today and proceeded to leave. My daughter looked back at the cashier and the cashier gave her a little smirk. Really?? To a 9 year old! Told one of the store clerk that the little thing was dieing she said that they know and they had separate it from the others. This poor little thing was in a food bowl trying to breath they were doing nothing to assist the poor thing. How heartless this store is. I would personally never shop in this store. beware of these guys .Today on 09/07/2018 I went to this store to buy some Beneful wet dog food .After I grabbed few I flipped over one of them to see the expiration date and surprisingly noticed it was expired back in Jan/2017 .This is not their first time BTW as I went there couple months ago while I was looking for the exact same brand while I noticed the same thing .I told their cashier about the Issue and she told me it was a mistake and they are going to remove all of them immediately from shelves .couple months later they're still trying to sell expired dog food with 20% discount price tag.There was another time I went there to get some nuggets which I noticed the whole bag was filled with molds .after I told cashier she apologized and put the bag right back in refrigerator while I was stepping out. This store needs to be shut down immediately as they have no sense of integrity whatsoever about their products. read more

I go here because they sell rats for snakes to eat. Many of the other pet stores stopped selling feeder rodents. The staff is normally very helpful and their pricing on dog food is excellent. I'm surprised that there isn't a large selection of pet clothing. I needed something for my dog during the winter and they had a small collection for very small dogs. Most of the staff is great but there are a few people that work here that could use a lesson in customer service. read more

I was super excited when I saw this place going in, and waited eagerly for it to open. Total disappointment. The store is poorly laid out, they really don't have much variety of products for as big as the space is. 90% of the store was dog food, cat food, and kitty litter, not many accessories. They don't take credit cards, (which is bananas!) supposedly because their prices are so low, and they pass on the savings of not paying the credit card company on to you the customer, BUT our brand of dog food was actually a dollar MORE per bag then at Bradshaw Feed, which DOES take credit cards so I call BS on that whole thing. On top of all this I had a horrible experience there. I went to check it out and I was bummed at the store over all, then as I was leaving I asked a employee standing near the front if they had any dog clothes or accessories I had missed, or if they would be getting any in (since its a new store). The employee actually laughed at me "Dog clothes?! haha NO, we don't sell those" Then laughs all loud, so loud the checker girl at the register, asks "what are they looking for?" "dog clothes! haha" he continues laughing. She looks at us like we just slapped her grandma and say "Ya we don't have any of those, and as far as I know we don't at any of our stores' I start walking out feeling angry at being treated like an idiot for asking for something that almost all pet stores have. Then what a appears to be a manager walks out, and asks the first guy what was going on. I can hear him explaining, and then the manager calls out for us to wait as we reach the door. "we have some dog T-shirts over here" he starts walking to the isle all the way to the right. Seriously?! The employees are not only shockingly rude, but also totally incompetent?! We turned around and looked at the little rack of shirts, there was not much selection only a couple designs in a few sizes, but really I just wanted to get out of there after being treated like that. So to sum it up: poor layout, crappy selection, overpriced, do not accept credit cards, and the employees are obnoxious and inept. I will never return to this, or any other Pet Club store. read more
